Should the Quizzes Be Easier, Harder or The Same as Now
This is a poll for and is limited to only the members to whom I send notifications about new quizzes and results of the ones just closed. Keep in mind that the quizzes are supposed to be fun to do.
Lately the quizzes have been pretty easy, but the movies have in most cases been ones you might not have seen. In order to compensate for that I have been preparing quizzes with clues that either the images virtually shout the titles at you, or else they are from information in the mini-synopsis for each movie on the lists by IMDb or Rotten Tomatoes for which I provide links.
The question I would like to have you answer for me by means of this poll is should I make the quiz more challenging, i.e. a little more difficult, or should I make it even easier than it is now, or should I just continue doing it the way I've recently been doing it? Please vote for one of the three choices below by clicking on the little circle to the left of your choice, and then click the spot for "VOTE" below the row of circles.
Your vote is entirely confidential - even I, posting the poll, can not determine who has voted. However if you wish to discuss the choices or make suggestions there is a comment wall below. But please don't post a comment that could be a hint for the current open quiz, in which case we could discuss it privately using PNs.
So far, it seems that only a handful of people have responded to your poll. I'm not surprised. It's safe to assume that only those of us who regularly participate will reply, because we care about this activity. Maybe it's time to purge your list and remove those who've not participated or who have tried to cause negativity issues.
I'm not sure, but I think I've been a quiz participant for only 1-2 years. I have been happy to see my scores rise. It's either because your quiz was a genre of which I'm familiar or that I've learned how to interpret your clues!
Best wishes,
Jasper
I do occasionally add a short paragraph to my notifications in which I ask those I send the notifications to would prefer that I do not do so, because I tell them I don't want to be a pest. Only one person a long time ago told me to drop his name from the list so I did. What is more important is that recently a couple whose names are on the list did in fact participate, which makes it important to not drop anyone. However, I did drop one person recently. That person way back a year or two ago asked if I would do an anime quiz and I told him that I almost never watch anime movies and I didn't think I could create a quiz about it. He never played again. Before I posted the anime quiz i did recently I sent him a PN to tell him I would be posting an anime quiz, and mostly because it was something he wanted, so I told him I hoped he would participate because it was what he wanted. He didn't and I never heard from him, so he's now off my list. I saw him posting comments elsewhere recently, so it wasn't as if he had died.
One participant who started out with single digit scores, but he persevered, kept trying, learned how I use the clues, steadily improved. and now he gets perfect or near-perfect scores. That is what happens.
