In England, most people would say Autumn, and in the USA most people might say "Fall". I'm constantly confused about which word to use, because I'm from a country in the middle that borrows from both British English and American English. After you have answered the question, read this article:

Why is it that the title and words of the song "Autumn Leaves" is not "Fall Leaves" especially when the American Nat King Cole sings them?
"The falling leaves drift by my window, the Autumn leaves of red and gold....But I miss you most of all, my darling, when Autumn leaves start to fall."
Fall...in Michigan's Upper Peninsula
Being almost next to each other, Ontario is similar to Michigan when it comes to seasons. The only real difference would be that in Michigan it would be Autumn colors while in Ontario it would be Autumn colours. LOL
I used to call it fall, yet now since I met Julia, fall means just that, to take a fall.
Therefore, it is now autumn.
BTW, is that poison ivy? The grouping of leaves does not seem to match, but the shape does. I think I have seen a another vine with such shaped leaves.
I don't think so, at least I hope not.
FALL, Autumn is just Fall trying to sound better than the end of Summer
Yeah, at least it's better than calling it the beginning of winter.
Well, just a bit of a perhaps interesting derail:
I have been studying "TCM" (Traditional Chinese Medicine) ...informally-- totally on my own. Not to be able to practice, but I'm interested in their system.
In the West we have 4 Elements-- Air, Fire, Earth, and Water. And of course we have 4 seasons.
I have known for some time that the Chinese have 5 Elements instead of 4 (Earth, Fire, Water, Wood, Metal).
But a while back I discovered that they have 5 seasons-- not 4! (or at least in the traditional Chinese system).
If that's so, Krishna, then the 5th season should be called "RAIN".
I thought it would be fun to do a poll. I've never used the facility provided here on NT so I wanted to try it out. Please vote, then read the article that I linked. Comments are welcome here.
