God's God

I loved this. Warning - some explicit language, but overall a brilliant argument against the concept of a creator.

I saw an article earlier where the comment was made that insisted Christianity is the most persecuted religion in the world. I won't comment on that, since it would just stir up a major shit storm that I'm not interested in weathering. However, the reality expressed in this video makes itpretty clear that there's no reason to be persecuting anyone over any religion, becausethe concept of godsis just plain bunk. People let their irrational fears get the best of them, and in the end they get stuck not being able to see the forest through the trees.

The interesting thing about your position is that you refuse to examine who your real enemies are . Of the major religions there is only one that would put you to death for your beliefs . Hint : it's not Christianity ...

Fantastic video. Putting away childish things, including a belief in a god makes sense. It's like no longer believing in Santa Claus. Humans have made the mistake of taking the childish game of there being a god into their adulthood and that stupidity has caused most of the deaths and suffering in Earth's history. None of the major religions have an existing god. None of them.

The is no god. Isis was worshiped as a goddess by millions. They were wrong. The same with the people who believed in all of the Greek and Roman gods. They were all figments of vivid imaginations. None of them were real. Christianity is a fraud. Christ, if he existed at all is dust by now and is not coming back because he is dead. He had a father here on Earth, but was not the son of a non-existent being. There was no immaculate conception. The Judo-Christian god does not exist, just as the ancient ones who thought to be real in their time in history and worshiped by millions turned out not to exist.

God is not dead. He never existed. Put away your childish beliefs as you did with so many others like the Easter bunny or Santa Claus and the tooth fairy and other toys and simple beliefs. Grow up.

NO it is NOT! Grin.gif

But your free to discuss your views as to why there is...

Just as they are telling you to put god away just like santa clause, you can tell then anything you like Up to and including that they're going to hell if they don't.

You just can't tell them on the front page how to go about it. just like they can't tell you how to go about rejecting god.

They can tell you you should, you can tell them they shouldn't.

Nothin about the how. Although you can tell them where to go to get that info..

Tantrums? No. The difference is I don't care if someone proselytizes for atheism. It doesn't ruffle my feathers, hurt my feelings, or challenge my values to their core. That's the difference between us. Tolerance for others opinions and beliefs even if they share them.

Atheists don't proselytize. If someone wants to buy into the fairytale of a god, more power to them. It's like those adults still carrying around a piece of their childhood blanket for comfort.

Again , people want to take a matter of faith and turn it into a cartoon

Faith in a god, in a supernatural being that exists outside of nature, IS a cartoon.

Ever taken a look at the Sistine Chapel John? That hasn't resolved the issue either.

Though I have been tempted to take Dawkins book "The God Delusion" and go door to door with it and when they open the door say "Have you heard the good news that there is no god and Christ is dead?" just to see their reaction. I wonder how it would differ from a Seventh Day Adventist coming to their door?Grin.gif

They most likely would not have listened to a word I'd said and just say they're not interested. Maybe I'd need some newspaper quality magazines? The Low tower?

Your concept of the public's perception of atheists is completely wrong . The public actually hates atheists :

So I'm a mouth drooler huh?

Well let me tell ya something, the issue passed 29-27 even with your attempt to negate it.

Like I said, your manipulation wasn't to prove it "Could" be done, it was to negate the vote and by that the issue.

You failed at both.

Thank you for admitting what your real intent was.

While atheists bring a lot of negative and I'll feeling upon themselves, hate and death are far too strong of terms for differences like these.

We ignore the hate as just plain silly and most (myself included) have no fear of death. As for the bringing on of hate, we can't control religious groups or churches hate, only they can. We can not bring it on ourselves. We can only watch while they waste the time and energy trying project it at us. The hate comes from them, not from us. It is pointed in one direction only. It's to silly to hatesomeoneforbelieving in afairy-tale. I might as well hate some one forbelieving in The Three Little Pigs as theirgospel

Isn't it funny how atheism has been on a continuous upward trajectory and religion is seeing the opposite reception - even though everyone hates atheists?
