Note: When I market my images on my own website, I often sign them with my family name. The "A" in "A. Mac" is still there in case anyone is wondering.

I'm not knocking them or anything as the new ballparks are very nice and much more efficient to get around in. It's just that many of the older ones had so much style, more character.

Thanks A.Mac. Love the baseball ones...the guys with Rollins and Howard Jerseys on remind me of younger days when we would go out the ballgame a couple times a year. Great fun and there is no other atmosphere quite like it!

Larry,

In 1958 and again in 1960 I pitched in Philly's Connie Mack Stadium in all star games; players were selected by opposing side coaches in a highly competitive city and suburb sandlot league. No T-ball back then you tried out, you made the team or not.

I like the T-ball for my grandchildren these days, but life is inherently competitive so, some things are gained in T-ball, but I think some are also lost.

10529_discussions.jpg That's me on the mound; my Dad took the Kodachrome in 1958. I still remember thinking to myself, "holy shit, last week Robin Roberts was pitching right where I am at this second."

What an honor A. Mac.!

I can imagine what it must have felt like being on that field playing ball; that is a truly grand memory for you. And I love the look...the grass isn't perfect, ol' Ballantine Ale advert (still around btw), little clock and fully manual scoreboard. I can almost smell the dusty chalk-lines from here...

I played second-base and shortstop in school but now play where ever they let me (softball).

:~)

Baseball? What is baseball?

I never watch NA sports. 10 mil. to hit, kick or catch a ball a year? Boring or too violent.

My father-in-law, Magnum's father, used to play. Professionally, for the 1950s, at a home seed team. He's dead now, but he was GOOD.

I often wished I could have seen him play... Smile.gif

The arms are in better shape today

but they're also 53 years older.

Hmmmmmm so am I come to think of it.

I played competitively until age 44; now I only think competitively.

Living in Florida now, and hoping to get to some spring training games. Saw the Washington Nat's field in Viera a couple of weeks ago. I wish the Dodger's were still here, but will take what I can get!

I usually don't care who wins. I just want to see a knock down drag out and exciting game. I want to see good baseball. Good pitching and lots of hits and some good fielding make the game fun for us.

Love those reds this will be our year. I wasted many hours early in the morning and late at night cheering for Lance Armstrong what a discusting waste. Drugs in sports have left a bad taste in my mouth.

Well if these don't make you eager for the "Boys of Summer" I just don't know what will?

Of course being a Mets fan... pictures from Shea would be nice, too. City Filed isn't doing it for me.

But your wonderful posters deserve music so....
