ISIS threatens in new video: After Paris, Washington is next

"We swear that we will strike America at its center in Washington," ISIS declares in new video.
CAIRO - Islamic State warned in a new video on Monday that countries taking part in air strikes against Syria would suffer the same fate as France, and threatened to attack in Washington.
The video, which appeared on a site used by Islamic State to post its messages, begins with news footage of the aftermath of Friday's Paris shootings in which at least 129 people were killed.
The message to countries involved in what it called the "crusader campaign" was delivered by a man dressed in fatigues and a turban, and identified in subtitles as Al Ghareeb the Algerian.
"We say to the states that take part in the crusader campaign that, by God, you will have a day, God willing, like France's and by God, as we struck France in the center of its abode in Paris, then we swear that we will strike America at its center in Washington," the man said.
It was not immediately possible to verify the authenticity of the video, which purports to be the work of Islamic State fighters in the Iraqi province of Salahuddine, north of Baghdad.
The French government has called the Paris attacks an act of war and said it would not end its air strikes against Islamic State in Syria and Iraq.
French fighter jets launched their biggest raids in Syria to date on Sunday targeting the Islamic State's stronghold in the city of Raqqa. The operation was carried out in coordination with US forces.
Police raided homes of suspected Islamist militants across France overnight following the Paris attacks.
"Al Ghareeb the Algerian" also warned Europe in the video that more attacks were coming.
"I say to the European countries that we are coming, coming with booby traps and explosives, coming with explosive belts and (gun) silencers and you will be unable to stop us because today we are much stronger than before," he said.
Apparently referring to international talks to end the Syrian war, another man identified in the video as Al Karrar the Iraqi tells French President Francois Hollande "we have decided to negotiate with you in the trenches and not in the hotels."
That's funny. For some reason I thought Americans might have been concerned about this. Guess I was wrong. I suppose they will be as ready for the "invasion" as they were for Pearl Harbour and 9/11.

There's really not much to be done about it if we're just going to sit here and wait to see if they can make good on the threat. Maybe Obama can pass out rabbit foot key chains to the public and hope it brings more good luck than it did for the rabbit.
Why not - he handed out cell phones to get re-elected.
Ha ha! Cell phones!. A diversion from the necessity of being "face to face" - a whole generation who are uncomfortable with facing reality.
My exact point - the ME situation is way over his head - may as well hand out cell-phones.
Get it now Randy?
Except it was Bush who handed out the free cell phones. When the economy was crashing and it was way over his head on how to stop it.
Get it now 1stwarrior? I doubt it.
You are correct, shrub created that program!
Why not - he handed out cell phones to get re-elected.
When is that fucking lie going to go away? The program was in existence as a land line service since 1996 and cell hones were added in 2008, before Barack Obama was elected President. It was George W. Bush who started the free cell pone program. Learn some history or just stop lying. Anyone who keeps spreading this shit is a liar of the worst order or a low grade moron. They make Nixon look honest.
As for the post, of course Washington is next! Washington has always been on the hit list of every terrorist organization in modern history and Al Qaeda actually did hit it on -11. It'll get hit again. So will New York and/or Los Angeles and/or Seattle and/or name a city in the US. We are going to get it by more terrorist attacks and all we can do is to hope that our career intelligence agents can stop them, because it doesn't mean shit who is is the White House when it happens. The terrorists organizations don't give a damn who our President is. They're just looking for a good time to it.
DAMN!!! I'm even agreeing with Randy. What did my wife feed me these days?
Oh, except that a person who makes a mistake in his statement, or is misinformed, and does not intentionally tell a lie, is NOT a liar, but a person who calls him one is something I cannot say because I don't want to get banned from the site.
Again I'm agreeing with 1ofmany and giving him a thumbs up. Just goes to show you not to form unalterable opinions about people.
I am very concerned. But with all the political back biting going on here in this country now, I guess it really isn't important. After all, nothing has happened on our doorstep so it is much more energizing to debate the election and call out the other side than to unite and stick together against an enemy when we cannot even agree who the enemy is.
@ jennilee
"...when we cannot even agree who the enemy is."
As was said in Pogo: "We have seen the enemy, and it is us."
Suicide bombers kill 43 in Beirut the day before Paris. How did we not hear about this? Or the 150 targeted Christians killed in Kenya?
@ Jennilee:
"How did we not hear about this"
The media follows Obama's lead and is afraid to publish anything that could hurt the feelings of Muslims.
They are very sensitive. Their delicate feelers are endangered when they are not actively murdering women and children.
ISIS is getting exactly what they want. A hell of a lot of coverage over this Paris terror attack. Of course they are going to keep it going with threats to Washington, and they may pull it off.
Their mission is to get the U.S. to put ''boots on the ground'' in Iraq and Syria, they have stated this many tmes, all you have to do is listen to their propaganda. They are very good at using the internet to spread their word and recruit new members. If the U.S. puts in combat troops in large numbers it will be a coup for ISIS, and the killing will really began.
CNN had a excellent documentary entitled, ''Blindsided, how ISIS shook the world'', well worth watching.

ISIS is showing itself to be quite adept at manipulation behavior and this simple reverse psychology ploy is a perfect example. The idea is to reinforce in our minds that putting boots on the ground is a continuation of the Bush's debacle. However, they also know that a war cannot be won through air power alone. There must be boots on the ground to win. Hitler found this out when he was unable to subdue England with the Blitz. Not putting boots on the ground leads to an inconclusive protracted conflict where ISIL expands by swelling its ranks and spreading . . . now 12 countries and counting. Why? Because simply standing up to the combined air power of the US coalition and Russia makes it seem as though they are backed by God himself.
Invading Syria would be a debacle (similar to Iraq) so I wouldn't do it. Instead, I'd stop trying to undermine Assad and let him and the Russians/Iranians deal with ISIL on the Syrian side of the border. I would send in 50,000 US troops on the Iraqi side (assuming the Iraqis agree, which they would) and give ISIL just what they say they want . . . an American boot right up their ass. ISIL will be caught between Russia in Syria and the US in Iraq and that will be the end of them.
What I don't want to do is let these nuts continue to organize and spread so that stamping them out is more difficult. They will likely hit Washington DC. It's not that hard. When that happens, the public will want justice and we may overdo the job by storming into both Iraq and Syria. That would be a mistake.
I'm sure Obama can apologize our way to victory...
He has never apologized for America before. Why start now?
Yeah, these folks are involved in a PR war fighting for the hearts of their own and they will continue to use large event/news generating type attacks like Paris. We continue to prepare and train and are vigilant. Some attacks may get through, many will be stopped before hand, many we may not even hear about. This is what the Bush Administration started after 9/11 to keep terror off our shores and largely, it's worked.
