Good. I'm a big fan of catch and release. Then you always have the chance to catch him again when he is bigger and give you even more of a fight to enjoy.
I double the joy, the joy of catching it, and the joy of eating it, and I'm not at all ashamed that I don't believe in catch and release. Once I get my limit for the day, I'm done.
You took a Bass with your I-Phone??? Wow, Mac, those things are getting really versatile.
True! I used a #1-800-Toll-Free Barbless Hook.
Going out again momentarily. Last evening just before leaving the water, I was catching fish on a small Caddis Fly; instead of stripping in the fly, I let it sit motionless for 20-30 seconds and found that fish would slowly rise and gently take it.
The overcast sky seems to have brought on a hatch of Stillwater Caddis Flies … even though those are black with "tent wings," I used a bass bug/popper which got their attention.
Each bass was about a 2, 2 1/2 ponder.
Having dinner and looking for a break in the clouds.
Been a couple glitches lately. Last night (very early this morning really) I posted an article and over the next ten minutes or so it posted again and again 4 times. When I tried to delete the extra copies of the article to stop it, it deleted them all and I had to start from scratch again. Same thing happened a few days ago when XX posted an article and it posted twice. I deleted one of them, but it deleted both of them. I emailed an apology to him and talked to Perrie about it. She thought he must have deleted the other one at the same time, but he didn't. I did mine two more times (from scratch) and it finally stopped at just posting it just twice so I left it at that, but there is a bad bug in the software somewhere.
The Embed Media feature is working again and here's yesterday's fish.
I like to use a long-handled, large net with a fine mesh -- that makes it easier to keep the fish in the water while removing the (barbless) hook, taking its picture and then releasing it.
Thanks Mac, They've been real good neighbors and friends for a very long time. He asked this time but sometimes he doesn't get the chance, But I bring him and his wife a few anyway. They have no kids and are sorta home bound. They still take care of themselves as we keep tabs so they have contact or for emergencies. Kind like I hope that someday, someone does something similar for me when it is my time.
FYI: Took his picture and put him back in the water.

And and off now to begin with that same pattern.
Hope to post more pix later.

He's beautiful, A. Mac! Glad you had a good time!
I agree. He is a beauty!

Hoping the Trout join the fun.
Always found the fishing to be better during a "light" rain.
Beautiful!
The rain stopped and after dinner, went out again … two more!
It was good fishing today.

Five nice fish today!
Today's (Sunday's) catch.
Just one today … no complaints … if I could catch one fish every day … how great would that be.
Here is the one from today … a nice Smallmouth Bass …
The EMBED LOCAL MEDIA feature is NOT WORKING.

Nice catch.
4 hrs on the lake, sun came up water got warm and the fish sank.
Had some success though caught twelve, released eight. (kept four for the neighbor, he can't get out anymore and loves fresh caught fish)
Heading for the river, hopefully my luck holds.

Correction that video is from 2011 not last year.
Excellent report/photo essay. Although I'm a "Catch & Release" guy, I can certainly appreciate, in this case, "Giving a Man a Fish."
