NASA finds perfect pyramid on Mars (Video)

A perfect pyramid has been spotted on Mars peeking out from the surface in a photo taken by NASA's Curiosity rover. The small, triangular mound, eerily similar to others found on Earth, may be a capstone, or a grave marker. In either case, it's unlike any similar object found so far on the Red Planet.

This pyramid was discovered by NASA on Mars
ParanormalCrucible @YouTube

In this video, posted to YouTube on June 20, the pyramid formation is clearly seen rising above the surrounding Martian surface and is estimated to be the size of a small car. The video speculates it could be some kind of marker left by an intelligent life form inhabiting (or visiting) Mars in the past.

The pyramid-shaped, rocky anomaly is nearly perfectly symmetrical on all sides, a naturally occurring geological formation which is rare on both Mars and Earth. And, it appears to have been built by assembling other rocks nearby, in a brick-like pattern, to form a nearly perfect triangle rising above the Martian landscape.

The amazing image here is enhanced only by rotating the angle of the original photograph, published by NASA on its official Curiosity rover website. Paranormal investigators have taken to poring over these public images, looking for just such anomalies as this perfectly formed pyramid shape, which appears to have been made purposely by some unknown hand in the distant Martian past.

This is clearly the best evidence yet of pyramids built on Mars, for whatever purpose, and bears greater scrutiny, even a response, from NASA, as to whether (as this video speculates) there is evidence that there is, or has been, intelligent life on Mars.

What do you think? Please leave a comment below.

At this link NASA posts its Mars Curiosity rover pictures :

I assume that somewhere in all of those images is the pyramid featured in the article's video . I find it surprising it has gotten so little in the way of public notification ...

Here is the same video from youtube :

I am still of the view that when Mars was a dying planet, and Earth was a lush envirionment, a space ship carried a girl and boy to Earth - who became the legendary Adam and Eve, and started humanity herenotwithstanding signs that Man may have evolved from primates - that could be a natural phenomenon anywhere. That immigration simply speeded up the process by circumventing what millenia may still accomplish. There is no proof that in our solar system development of life was different between the two planets - only time differed.Think of Superman being sent to Earth when Krypton was doomed as being allegorical.

You are bringing up science fiction . This observation appears to be fact . I would expect that a major effort would be started to uncover the rest of this pyramid structure and find out the history behind this object . Perhaps , like the black monolith in the movie "2001 , a space odyssey" this will get us hairless apes all hopped up to investigate ...

BTW here is the official NASA website post for the photo :

No sirprise, really. Muslim civilization has always been ahead of its time. They've been to Mars long ago-- and of course "discovered" America long before Columbus:

"Contacts between Latin America and Islam date back to the 12th century. Muslims discovered America in 1178, not Christopher Columbus," Erdogan said . "Muslim sailors arrived in America from 1178. Columbus mentioned the existence of a mosque on a hill on the Cuban coast."

The Egyptian pyramids were not built by Muslims to my knowledge . Muslims conquered Egypt well after the pyramids were built from what I understand . Imhotep is NOT a Muslim name ...

The ancient Egyptians worshipped the sun god ISIS , not Allah and certainly not Mohammed .

It is not a perfect pyramid (or one at all). In the first place it is considerably shorter on it's right side (in the close up pics) then it is on the left, which extends out much further. Also the NASA larger picture shows it sticking out of the side of a a hill at an angle, so there is nothing under it unless the Martians built their pyramids a lot shorter on one side and at a bizarre angle that would not place them on a level surface. It is an anomaly. A fluke. Like when a face was supposedly discovered on Mar's but it only looked like a face from one perfect angle. The rest of the time it looked like a bunch of rocks and so does this. Oh...IMHO.

Right.

And Martians were ant sized.

A question, WHY would they build it on such an unstable slope and angle?

Personally, that is the first thing any engineer would ask.

I mean, if they are this advanced race of beings capable of space flight, they would understand gravity and mass. Wouldn't they? Flat side down to keep the center of mass as low as possible with as wide a base as possible is a basic rule of engineering.

And why would they build it so small?

It's the same color and texture of the surrounding rock strewn about the site. The edges are not perfectly straight as would be an engineered pyramid.

Personally, I think it is one of those miracles of nature, it defied all odds and fractured in a shape resembling a pyramid, at least the part that can be seen above the sand. Not unusual for this to happen naturally, but very rare....

Of course ... but many millenia would have an effect on the landscape . Do we even know what the stability of the Martian land is ? Did the builders ?

And why would they build it so small?

According to the video it was the size of a small car . They speculated that there may be more of it buried beneath that capstone .

The edges are not perfectly straight as would be an engineered pyramid.

The pyramids of ancient Egypt are not perfectly straight either ...

I agree it is not perfect but it is pretty close . If it was a large pyramid the lack of correct position to gravity is a serious issue . But we have no idea how many millenia have passed since this structure appeared or was constructed . There could have been earthquakes causing the ground to shift . Also this may only be a small structure and not a full sized pyramid . What I would like to see is for NASA to get that rover back to the same spot and photograph if from the hidden side . If that hidden side is also a near perfect triangle of the same size as the other 2 faces the evidence would be much stronger ...

They were when they were finished. It's one of the first things that your told when you start studying the pyramids.

They were designed and built almost mathematically perfect. I mean they look quite rough after three millennia have gone by true, what with people taking stone to build their little mud and stone shacks and all...

So where are the people on mars that stole the stones for their little huts?

But, that is what you get when you speculate... Grin.gif

Actually, its angle is a little too steep for a real pyramid. It's a tad bit too "pointy".

I think it is just a broken rock. Possibly a rock that has many small layers, so it looks like bricks. Lots of things form pyramids when broken. And even in sedimentary rocks, the breaks reflect how the smaller grains break...

Again it's condition after that many years of being abandoned is not going to be pristine .

Lots of things form pyramids when broken.

By all means , find us a naturally occurring pyramid . That would be strong evidence to support your case . Remember that this object is the size of a small car ...

We'll never know until we send astronauts to Mars and I doubt trying to see if this is a real pyramid or not, so we'll probably never know because it won't ever been part of a mission to see if it is in our lifetime if there ever is. I think that if we send up several missions to mars like we did the the moon (and where we should return) none of them will have the time to check this out. They would have more important things to worry about.

It may not be necessary to do all of that just to verify this . If the Opportunity rover is still functional it could be sent to check out the obscured side of this pyramid up close . If it still looks smooth and regular on the obscured side that would be as close to proof of the synthetic nature of this relic as one can get without an in-person visit .

I have already expressed my opinion in another thread which you choose to ignore. Get yourself two or more women (or hell, even men) who will say they are married to you and take it to court, claiming your right to polygamy. You won't because you know it'll be laughed out of court and you'll need a very expensive attorney. If you honestly think this will lead to polygamy, then take it to court and find out. Otherwise your speculation is just horse shit. Or are you afraid to test the law, even though you are convinced it'll lead to that?

In the video, at 17 seconds in, it shows the rock to be on a side slope amongst other rocks. If you focus in on the one rock, it appears to be something that resembles a pyramid, especially if you rotate the frame as was done in the video. When you look at the whole picture, however, you will see that there are several rocks, that if rotated and buried in sand would also make a type of pyramid.

The long and short of this is, it is a rock. None other than natural forces need be applied to create this shape.

Don't necessarily look for pyramids, but look for shapes that can be seen as a pyramid.

To form a pyramid you need a corner of a solid shape, but that shape can be a rectangular, square, rhombohedral, etc. solid, to form a pyramid just depends on the view that you are given. This particular picture shows several, especially in the upper left-hand corner, that could be viewed as pyramidic, given the proper orientation.

"It is probably a volcanic rock (like most rocks that we've seen with rovers on Mars), and just like many volcanic rocks on the Earth, many volcanic rocks on Mars break and cleave in very sharp, angular ways. This one happens to have cleaved into a pyramidal shape, which is actually not too uncommon among hard, dense volcanic rocks on the Earth either."

No, It wouldn't.

Tool marks would, or perfection (more or less) in the angles, and knowing what lies beneath the surface. We cannot tell what the rest of that rock looks like, because only a portion of it is exposed on the surface. We cannot even tell with any degree of surety that the shadowed side is planar.

Pyramid Lake in Nevada

The name of the lake comes from the impressive cone or pyramid shaped tufa formations found in the lake and along the shores. The largest such formation, Anaho Island , is home to a large colony of American white pelicans and is restricted for ecological reasons. Access to the Needles, another spectacular tufa formation at the northern end of the lake has also been restricted due to recent vandalism. [10]

Pyramid formations/mountains from all over the world, how many do we need to show it's a common natural formation?

I asked you a hypothetical question and your reply consisted of a categorical rejection of the premise . Neither of us have proof of what the 3rd face of the rock looks like . That's why I want to take the Rover exploring while you merely reject the premise and refuse to go exploring . There's a word for that : bias .

As to your scree pile that is irrelevant inre to larger objects .

Your assessment of any member's performance has no relevance to this thread, an in fact, the way you phrased it is demeaning.

Why not be content with any/all thoughtful comments in your discussions?

You gonna pay to have NASA do that? It might well be too far away for the Rover to get to. I think we should all go outside (preferably at night), find Mars and squint really, really hard to see what it is...

You gonna pay to have NASA do that?

The major expenses have already been incurred : designing & making the rovers ; launching them into Martian orbit and landing them intact on the planet . The amount of taxes required to pay for the rover "driver" to get the vehicle to the correct spot should be minor . Take them out of Eric Holder's salary since he is now going back to private industry .

Petey:

Wrong, and in so many ways.

I asked you a hypothetical question and your reply consisted of a categorical rejection of the premise

No it did not. You said:

You are welcome to post whatever evidence you have . Please include the details such as the size of the resulting rock and any photos you might have .Also include details such as the number of faces which are regular polyhedra in such naturally occurring rocks . If the Mars rock was examined & found to have a clean triangular face on the hidden side would that affect your interpretation ?

Here are the actions that I performed in response:

  • Rolled around on the floor, laughing my ass off.
  • Did a google search for devils postpile images
  • Found many that were characteristic of columnar basalt jointing
  • Picked one and posted it, along with the explanation above.

So no, you did not ask a merely hypothetical question. You asked for detailed evidence to support my contention that it is only a rock. I gave you object proof that rocks can and do break giving the forms that can make the pyramid form shown in the picture, even if the third side were shown to be planar.

Further, Devils Postpile National Monument is merely one example of columnar jointing in basalt, a fine grained igneous rock. There are dozens of dozens of examples of this, but I am not going to post them for they will fall, "like pearls before swine." You can look them up and educate yourself. I am not Going to waste my time trying.

It's just a rock, Petey. Just a rock. Just admit it. You got hornswoggled. Everybody does once in a while.

Mac, while the Ammonia example is interesting, a more cogent one would be the silica tetrahedra, the grouping and stacking of which into chains into sheets gives all silicate minerals their crystalline forms as well as dominant cleavages.

An interesting primer on the subject is here .

I would have thought it was obvious . Science is , if nothing else about future advances , not wallowing in past deeds . Obama was not interested in the future of NASA science ... only in the present of middle eastern obstructionism . Have his NASA policies changed since that video ? If so I don't recall reading anything to that effect .

It's the Republicans that hate science, like evolution, the Earth is more then 7,000 years old, the earth rotates around the Sun, the bible is a history book and you don't always have strange children when you marry your sister, or your Aunt, or your first cousin, etc.!

And you have revealed a stunning lack of critical thinking.

You discount ( here ) the considered opinions of NASA mission specialists on the size and uniqueness of the shape, even though they are trained, experienced and in charge of interpreting these specific Images:

"It is a rock," Dr. Jim Bell, deputy principal investigator of the Mastcam investigation program and a professor of astronomy at Arizona State University in Tempe...

You discount the words of our own residentHydro-geologist Dowser ( here ) who was gracious enough to give her learned opinion on the subject:

I think it is just a broken rock. Possibly a rock that has many small layers, so it looks like bricks. Lots of things form pyramids when broken.

You discounted AMac here as being

I posted several items throughout this article as to why I think that it is just a rock:

  • The methods of fracturing ( here ).
  • An explanation of why it doesn't even have to be a pyramid ( here ).
  • A picture of one instance, which is repeated on the surface of the earth countless times, where we can seeinnumerablepossible pyramid type forms ( here ).
  • A link ( here ) on the formation of silicate minerals. ( Here is the comment .)

And, you poo-pooed the many posts by NoWhereMan showing naturally occurring pyramids because some of them were man made... ( Here ).

So, you raise the bar time and again, deflect, ignore evidence and deprecate peoples' honest and good faith work in trying to show you the that the pyramid form is, in fact, prevalent and common in nature.

Nice job, if you are only interested in stringing people along and wasting their time. Otherwise, I would say that you are just an asshole.

You discounted AMac's post here as being too small to be relevant, though clearly crystals outward expression, parting, fracture and cleavage have everything to do with their atomic makeup and structure.

You accuse me of being biased ( here ), yet give not the slightest shred of evidence besides "I say so".

Actually, part of the far right conspiratorial thought come from the quote; "God (Nature) does not build in straight lines" which is of course a fallacy. Naturally occurring crystalline structures, trees, etc, exist. Ex: Deny Ignorance - There ARE Straight Lines and Right Angles in Nature!

If you can demonstrate a naturally occurring macro-sized pyramid I will withdraw my thesis . Talking about nano-sized crystals misses the point . If you take enough pictures of the Martian surface, you will most certainly find multiple pyramid shaped rocks on its surface. You will also find rocks which look like human faces, like rectangular buildings, like kitty cats, like Rover the family dog.... If seen in the right light. And you won't need to take a lot of psychedelics, either. Believe me, there are a LOT of rocks on Mars. Some look like clouds which look like Elvis Presley!

I frequently hike in New Mexico, a state with a LOT of rocks. I know all about rocks and how they often look like familiar things.

That said, I dearly hope there are pyramids made by intelligent life forms on Mars. I hope the universe is scattered with wonderful life! This way, when the stupid humans have killed this planet -- Earth -- dead, I'll be able to die myself, knowing that the universe is replete with life, which is not so rare as we had once thought.
