You can line a Baseball Cap with Aluminum or Copper screen, it's just as effective, breathable, and it allows you to be free of mind control without the government knowing you're free.
I think you're right-- if you buy one. the government (or even some other hostile entity) might hack into the vendor's records and find you out!
