Why Does This Shirt Cost $1,300 ?

Melania Trump harvested and planted vegetables in the White House Kitchen Garden on Friday with students from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, D.C.

Evidently there is some brouha over Melania Trump wearing a 1300 dollar shirt to do "gardening" at the White House.

A 2017 photo of Melania Trump wearing a $1,300 Balmain shirt whilst gardening in the White House Garden is making the rounds again, quickly achieving meme status on Twitter

Everyone rounded on the First Lady's choice of gardening attire and stance, with model and author Chrissy Teigen joking that Melania's shoes are unbelievably clean for someone who's doing a spot of gardening.

'These look exactly like my workout soles. because i work out as much as this chick gardens,' Teigen tweeted.

==================

Seriously, she should go to Macy's or something similar and buy a similar looking shirt for 65 or 75 dollars and give the other $1250 to her favorite charity , and save her soul.

The reason why is jealousy.

I beg to differ. Chrissy Teigen is anything but destitute. She has her own money, she didn't marry into it [although she married into a buttload of it]. Jealousy is far different than pointing out the obvious. Melania is not enviable. She's to be sympathized with, but she's not enviable. Melania may have modeled as well, but I don't believe Chrissy modeled girl-on-girl nudes.

Even the real British wellies are only $150.00 on Zappos.

I can see spending maybe $100 on a flannel blouse but that thing must be made from the hair of an extinct goat to be worth $1300. Her gloves and knees aren't dirty and she doesn't have pruners in her hand so she can't be gardening.

Well at least the Trumps bought them with their own money... It's not like they made it all on the coattails of their public service position by creating a bogus charity and taking $500,000 bribes...er, I mean "speaking engagements".

Pretty sure we all know how Hillary pays for $12,000.00 pant suits.good one

Oh and as for speaking fees, here you go:

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has been paid $1.35 million since last May for three speaking engagements for a network marketing company that has been accused of being nothing more than a pyramid scheme.

Remember when Michelle Malkin attacked her for wearing couture to...wait for it...a state dinner?  Like she was supposed to wear something from J. C. Penney's prom collection, instead.

Consider that source for a mo'.

Well, the seeder, who is NOT the topic, is fairly well known for posting pieces derogatory to Trump or anything associated with Trump.

Maybe you're right--I should consider the "source" for all this bitching!

Why Does This Shirt Cost $1,300 ?

The short answer I would suppose, is because there are folks silly enough to pay that much for a shirt.

I just saw the trailers for a new show that highlights the most expensive items on earth.  There is a drink that costs $ 75,000.  It just shows that if you have the money, you will spend it on stuff that the majority of people would never ever consider buying.

My baby is growing up!!! You gotta trade out your current avatar for the baby one. Omigawd. I loved that baby picture.

My sweetheart's baby pictures also make me melt. Holy crap ... he was the happiest baby ever. Every single picture of him as a baby has him smiling like no tomorrow. There's one where he's standing grasping the end of his crib with eyes shining and giggling. My heart gets so huge! And the crib had the three little piggies and the big bad wolf on it. The wallpaper was adorable too.

God forbid that any of these uber rich people go to someplace like, gasp, JC Penney's, Wal-Mart, Costco or, Sears for a shirt and, spend much less, I mean they need those tax cuts so that they can afford to buy their shirts!

I am betting that you got identical shirts from Sachs and KMart, they would look identical but differ in price dramatically.

I wouldn't shop at Sachs, I'm Scottish and, Irish, I pinch every penny until it surrenders in writing.

Why is it any of anyone else's business where they spend their money?

Easy answer, it isn't.  The jealous and small minded spend their time being upset about things like this (the picture was from 2017....amazed it took that long for the left to get upset about it).

Remember this?

Doug Powers: "Michelle Obama Appropriately Enough Wore A Red Dress" While "Musical Rendition Of 'If My Friends Could See Me Mao'" Played. In a guest post written on Michelle Malkin's website late Wednesday night, conservative blogger Doug Powers said: "As for the state dinner for the Chinese president, Michelle Obama appropriately enough wore a red dress, and an all-star cast of Broadway stars performed a rousing musical rendition of 'If my friends could see me Mao' to close out the evening." This cracks me up.   Melania wearing a $1300 shirt is bad but Michelle wearing a $600 pair of sneakers is acceptable.

C'mon man, you won't see either of these ladies shopping at Kohls, Walmart or TJ Max like most Americans.

Damn, i doubt i spend $1300 a year on clothes and footwear for myself but then again i am a guy.   I spend more on booze and cigars than i do on clothes.

Back to the topic, the question was: "Why does this shirt cost $1,300.?"

Answer:  "There's a sucker born every minute."

(or, if that doesn't apply, the answer is - "It wasn't made in China".)
