My father was big on people watching. His favorite place was LAX. He was there so often he knew every terminal, nook and cranny. If he saw someone seemingly confused, he would give them directions to what ever they were looking for.
He was a GM for Pontiac. He was very good with people and reading body language. Other than micromanaging me, I think people watching was his only hobby.
Sorry, couldn't resist. I was a long time fan of Pontiacs. Owned a 1959 Parisienne convertible, then a 1964 Parisienne convertible and later on a 1973 "soft-nosed" Grand Am.
I generally don't go either. We do have a WalMart Super center about 10 miles from my house....there is always something interesting going on....a guy was busted there a few days back for wearing nothing but some lady type undergarments and exposing far too much......of everything that shouldn't be exposed........
It was winter, so they're pretty well covered. The photo was taken in Chengdu, which is pretty far south - won't see snow there. I'm in Chongqing which is even farther south.
They generally dress pretty conservatively and on special occasions, many dress traditionally. Of course every society has its wild bunch, but that's pretty rare here. Once in a while there are wild hair colours, like neon reds, just red, blond, blue, but usually those who do that are not good looking so maybe they do it to compensate, i.e. try to be more "stunning".
Well, of course what the male peacock has and does is natural, but colouring one's hair into weird colours, tattoos and most piercings are unnatural, unnecessary and in IMO repulsive as hell.
There's a jopke....took my ex-sailor dad out to an appointment, we were riding on the bus when this kid got on and sat down across from us. His hair was colored red, qreen, blue, purple and yellow. Dad kept staring at him. Finally the kid looks over at dad and says, what's your problem old man? My dad, without missing a beat said. I was in the navy, we had shore leave and I got so drunk I screwed a cockatoo....thought you might be my son.

And piercings are beyond beyond unnatural. Occasionlly they result in severe infections.
But here's the worst part-- if the piercing happens to be at an accupuncture point, it can throw the bodys systems out of balance.
Don't know if its still popular, but some South Korean girls dye their hand blonde, sometimes with pink highlights. Here's a K-Pop video ("AOA Cream - Jelly Baby") two of the three have dyed their hair blonde, the one with the pink streak is Hyejeong:
Here's what Hyejong looks like with natural hair colour:
Pop stars tend to do those things to themselves, and I guess some of their fans follow suit.
Definitely.
Although what interested me is the difference between several Asian countries-- IIRC in Korea girls often dye their hair blonde, occasionally even streak it with pink. In China girls apparently leave it natural colour (black).
BTW I know a woman up in NY who is a successful hairdresser (with some wealthy clients) who really keeps up with current trends in the U.S. She herself has dyed her hair blonde and-- she has some pink highlights-- similar to Hyejong. Excellent job, it looks natural, IMO its in good taste"-- not like some of the punk craziness at all).
Yes it is. There are Starbucks everywhere - one in the mall attached to my apartment building, one in the big department store across the road.........
I LOVE people watching !
I find people to be fascinating.
My wife thinks I'm weird though.

People watching at airports is even better. So much difference there.
kinda like the "Good, The Bad' and the Ugly".
That was very nice of him.

Dear Friend Is It Me: The Good, The Bad; and the Tourists.

Let's have some fun..........your pictures, as long as they are not political are welcome
p.s. I didn't make up the Bingo Card.
Wouldn't the Hillary tee shirt be considered political?
There's a Trump one too (you seem to have missed that. I wonder.....nah.....) and as I said, I didn't make the card. Back to the pictures.......
I missed that.

Bur are political things OK-- if they're "humorous"?
Love to people watch . bingo
Local county fair starts next week probably can get them all
Most of the card is pretty self explanatory but what the heck is a whaletail?
PS love to people watch as well
Whale Tail
Thanks now I know
LMAO
...and I always thought that "wing" at the back of this 70s Porsche was a Whale Tail
Lol, no...found all images online.
And much better to see than the whale-tails at WalMart......
LOL. I didn't really NEED to know. However, I'd like to know the Lady in Red posted by the Lady in Black.
According to the Urban Dictionary, a whale tail is the shape formed when a g-string rides up high over a woman's trousers.
I learned something new today
Me too! I'll never look at those majestic mamals in the same way again......
I'm going to do some people watching in Las Vegas over Labor Day Weekend. But another good place for people watching is the mall
I haven't been to a fair in years.....
I generally don't go either. Walmart is a great place for people watching:
So many people to watch - so little time.
Certainly a sea of people. Do the Chinese generally dress conservatively or is ther ea contingent of them that live on the wild side?

Kind of like how the male peacock attracts a mate?
Reminds me of a Navy Joke.......

Good one!

From what I've seen, Cjhnese kids of that age (mid 20s) tend to go for a much more conservative appearance.
The japanese youth, however, is into a lot of strange fads, appearance wise!

Buzz: Is the sign in the upper left corner (Comment #8) a Starbucks sign?
Yes it is. There are Starbucks everywhere - one in the mall attached to my apartment building, one in the big department store across the road.........
