Yes I would but like any procedure you need to pick your doc carefully.    Low cost should not be the main consideration.    Also make sure they explain what to expect.   For example, you might lose some night vision and near vision.

That said, it’s some of the best money i’ve ever spent.    I highly recommend it.

I had lasik about 15 years ago. One of the better things I have done for myself. No more fogging my glasses up in summer from the car A/C. No more fogging up when I go into walk-in fridges or freezers at work, 20/20 in one eye, 20/15 in other! No trying to get prescription glasses or sunglasses, etc.

Prices have come down considerably since I had mine done.

Dear Friend Texan: I support your decision.

Good call.

I had cataract ridden lenses in both eyes surgically removed.

IOL's (Inter Ocular Lenses) were implanted to replace them.

I still use glasses to read.

Other than that I no longer use glasses.

Eye care has gotten much cheaper, safer and better in a short time frame.

A salute to the researchers and practicioners.

I had mine 18 years ago.  I agree, one of the better things I have done for myself!  I just had a thorough eye checkup and my eye doctor was very impressed with the lack of scarring.  But then, I picked the same doctor who did Tiger Woods' lasik.

would you recommend it?

Charger I had it done 20 yrs ago and it cost me almost $5000 out of pocket and absolutely I would recommend it.  It's a quick day appointment, there's no pain and the improvement is instantaneous.  Basically in a 24 hr period I went from being unable to read my alarm clock a foot from my head one morning to being able to clearly see a gum wrapper in the far corner of the bedroom the next morning, simply amazing.  Like Texan said no fogging, also no cleaning glasses everytime it rains, no expense whenever you break or scratch them but the big one for me was no more nose dents.

I went from 20/400 in both eyes to 20/25 in my left and 20/20 in my right and there's been no degradation over the years.  If for whatever reason I had to pay again tomorrow I would do so without hesitation

If you do go ahead with this (I hope you do) relax (they gave me valium to help with that) enjoy the light show, follow your doctors recovery directions (especially the steroid eyedrops) and you'll not regret this.

Good luck

I should add that after 18 years, my eyesight is still 20/20 - and it was 20/400, or as my doctor said, "20/blurry".  They gave me a 5 milligram valium, and a teddy bear to hold.

Don't forget the extra lubricating drops, either!

You're making me jealous, but my ophthalmologist says I'm not a good candidate.  She said I should just wait until I have cataracts and have my vision corrected with implanted lenses then.

That makes me think about never wearing sunglasses again, so I can grow some cataracts really fast jrSmiley_9_smiley_image.gif

Not really, but getting rid of the contacts sure is tempting.

Well,  it was the Coors Light girls holding the contest, and most of the guys were very drunk and too busy hitting on the girls to really focus on their hooping (and I was probably the only woman who participated in the contest).  Although I am getting pretty good at my weighted hula hoop for exercise.  It's a lot easier than the normal type.

Last night I mentioned this poll to the guy who owes me a million dollars and he bought me a drink.  So ... if he buys me a drink a month ... I'll be dead before he's anywhere close to paying me back.

Breaking is more of an accidental occurrence.

My parents were 2 survivors of the Great Depression and 16 brothers and sisters.

Ketchup was a main ingredient of every one of my childhood meals. Spam was like a porter house steak to us.

Did I mention my mother doesn't cook, she boils, almost everything.

Catchup'Ketchup'Heinz57 puts a bit of color and taste on every plate, lol.

She boiled everything except Scrapple.  Thank the Amish for my childhood protein from Scrapple, loaded with ketchup.

Scrapple was our Filet Mignon, the piece d'resistance  of poor Pennsylvania Irish catholic meals.......

Until I was interrupted by a Trump supporter, my point was that even the rich and important golfers at Trump's country clubs seem interested in ketchup on eggs. I don't think it is the socially ostracizing behavior some seem to think it is , lol.

I used to occasionally do it myself, but now I sometimes top my fried eggs off with a tablespoon of salsa. jrSmiley_2_smiley_image.png

Yes! But it was at my aunt's house. My uncle snatched me away to safety as my aunt was three sheets to the wind. He was pissed she spent the money on it, he hated it but was smart enough to have it insured without telling her (he kept the money)

That was incident #1

The next was when they bought a new lamp and tore up the cardboard and placed it in the fireplace....her daughter and I noticed they left some packaging out so we put that in the fire.

This morning I told Alexa to play soft classical music and "she" played a station that was classical music for reading.

Funny thing is that my normal listening style is bands like Pantera and Avenged Sevenfold.  Sirius Octane all the way.  But if I'm reading or working, I prefer classical; it's nice background music without being distracting.

I listen in the truck all the time. I drive my hunny to wotk and now she listens in her office all day. It's an NPR station too.

Except when I'm cooking then I off in to Jazz world. Me and Miles....we can cook baby!
