AOC tries to scold Charles Payne for asking about black staff, runs into raging buzzsaws from him and others. Candace Owens unloads!
But Turning Point USA’s Candace Owens responded to shred Ocasio-Cortez, calling the newly elected Democrat “radically stupid” for insulting an educated black man by accusing him of tokenism. “The audacity of you to accuse a black man of tokenism. Have you lost your mind?

S E E D E D   C O N T E N T

Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., found herself mired in another controversy last week when she came to the defense of Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., who accused Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., of being a racist for inviting a black Trump official to the highly watched House Oversight Committee hearing.

Meadows invited Lynne Patton, a Department of Housing and Urban Development official to counter former Trump attorney Michael Cohen’s claim that the president is a racist.

Tlaib called Patton “a prop,” which prompted Ocasio-Cortez to tweet: “Total bravery from @RashidaTlaib as she reminds the nation that tokenism *is* racism.”

The democratic socialist came under fire for the racial charged comment, with Fox News’ Charles Payne asking Ocasio-Cortez how many black staff members she has.

“We have Black staff,” she replied. “We don’t parade them around to show the world how diverse our team is, and use that as some kind of evidence of the absence of racism. That’s what tokenism is.”

This prompted the predictable response, that she was parading around her black staff while claiming she doesn’t do that.

Derek Schwartz tweeted: “This woman just literally did the exact opposite of what she claims in her tweet and doesn’t realize it! “We have black staff. We don’t parade them around”. (As she parades them on twitter). Lord help us all.”

You are a puppet for the party of the KKK, slavery, and Jim Crowe,” Owens tweeted. “Don’t you dare try to step to an educated black man and insult him for not being as radically stupid as you.”

She also ripped Ocasio-Cortez for what she called a racial slur.

“I’m not even done. A democratic congresswoman using a RACIAL SLUR to describe black conservatives is NOT OKAY. How dare you?!!!” she tweeted. “Referring to blacks as coons, tokens, or house negroes is a RACIAL SLUR. You are absolute filth for this @AOC .”

Payne responded to explain to Ocasio-Cortez that her rhetoric was “disappointing.” He also recommended that her black staff members may want to be more visible.

“Thanks for getting back,” he tweeted. “Its disappointing rhetoric to suggest people are paraded and belittle hiring of Black people as tokenism. Moreover, questioning their accomplishments is even more problematic. You get that. BTW some of the Black folks on your staff my want to be visible.” As for how many black staffers she had, the closest Ocasio-Cortez came to giving an answer was to refer to a Washington Post article that highlighted Ariel Eckblad, the congresswoman’s black legislative director. Conservative teen pundit CJ Pearson responded to the controversy to say that he has “never heard something more racist” than Ocasio-Cortez’s remark.

Owens’ boss, Turning Point USA’s Charlie Kirk, commented to note how the media routinely covers for Democrats who make racially charged remarks — as you might guess, the story got scant coverage.

“Imagine if a Republican member of Congress used a horrible racial slur to attack a black businessman TV host like @AOC did, accusing Republicans of “tokenism” The left continues to get away with their racist policies and language as the media ignores it,” he tweeted.

“.@AOC is going around calling black conservatives “tokens”.

The idea that any black person - who thinks for themselves - is a “token” is not only wrong but its unapologetically racist.”

WOW, how unexpected! The GOP is going to jump HARD on anything Cortez or Omar or Tlaib ever say and make it something horrible and anti-.

They're not old, they're not white, they're not even male and they're the WORST type of Democrats, the kind with ideas.

They could even be (gasp) progressive or Socialist Democrats!

For the good of the GOP and stagnant thinkers everywhere, this uprising must be loudly denounced at every turn and this "people" fad must be stamped out.

Omar and Tlaib often engage in anti Semitic rants and we’re not supposed to call them out on it? Ocrazyo and another called a HUD employee under Ben Carson a token and they aren’t supposed to be confronted?  Why should African Americans who think on politics and economics as I do be called tokens and other names?

Oh, be honest. If she said "good morning, Sir" some people would jump on it as anti-merikin. Yeah, everyone should use good manners at all times, unless they're GOP.

You, like a lot of people on the right, can't WAIT for something you can take as a deadly insult from those evil godless lefties, anybody to the left of king trump, that is. Wow, must be hard hating most of the world.

Then comes the wailing and anger and indignity stuff.

ROFL

But a lot of ultra-conservatives, billionaires and the religious think they should make all decisions for everybody and if they can't convince people by domination, they'll make sure people make the right choices by removing any alternative choices.

She graduated "cum laude" majoring in "international Relations" and (believe it or not) economics.  Around here BU isn't regarded as highly as BC or other comparable schools, but even with that, it goes to show how much American education has declined.

Yes. I have a college friend who taught at both. He said that BC was much better than BU.

So many in the Democratic Party and their supporting media have become so obsessed with identity politics that they don't see how racist it has made them. The notion that people of a certain skin color have to think or act a certain way is the very definition of racism.

The goal was supposed to be that all people be treated with equal dignity and justice, and that the doors of opportunity would swing wide for all.

Until you condemn the Tucker Carslons and Steve Kings of the right (instead of making excuses for them) you have absolutely no ethical or moral leg to stand on. I'm not fooled that any of this is about morals or ethics, it's about the gotcha identity politics of the alt+right. The alt+right seems to be generally pissed off the alt+left is using their playbook. Being a self thinking moderate, I say both sides are nuts.

Don't want to take my word for it, here's an actual Jewish writer's comment - ( )

And that’s the game: line up as many black faces, as many yarmulkes as you can, to window-dress the white nationalism that has come to define the Republican party in the era of Trump. Demonize the stranger and the outcast; let white nationalists swarm cities; and for  every swastika drawn on a synagogue or school,  find a Jew to shove to the front of the crowd. The protracted condemnation of Ilhan Omar served to gin up the racist sentiments of Fox News viewers, and the saccharine, philosemitic condescension of those Christians who embrace Israel but regard diaspora Jews with contempt.
