ADF: Nothing about the Equality Act is equal

Federal legislation in the House and Senate would extend discrimination protections to LGBT Americans.
Representative David N. Cicilline (D-Rhode Island) introduced the Equality Act of 2019 with 239 co-sponsors, all but two of them Democrats. Cicilline is homosexual.
"It is past time for the Equality Act to be written into law," says Cicilline. "No American should ever be treated as less than equal in the eyes of the law. I'm looking forward to getting this bill through the House this spring. Senator McConnell should take it up without delay."
Attorney Greg Baylor of Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) says everyone agrees that everyone should be treated with dignity and respect.
"Our laws must respect the constitutionally-guaranteed freedoms that we have, and this Equality Act is a coercive sexual orientation and gender identity law," Baylor continues. "It really undermines fairness and freedom."
He adds that it also undermines the interests of parents who may not be on board with their children transitioning to the opposite gender by being given puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones.
"It violates the bodily privacy and safety of women, and it's unfair to women who are competing in athletic competitions," he warns. "There's so much bad about this bill, it's hard to know where to start."
Representatives Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pennsylvania) and John Katko (R-New York) also co-sponsor the Equality Act of 2019, and Senator Jeff Merkley (D-Oregon) has introduced the bill in the U.S. Senate.
“Our laws must respect the constitutionally-guaranteed freedoms that we have, and this Equality Act is a coercive sexual orientation and gender identity law," Baylor continues. "It really undermines fairness and freedom."
He adds that it also undermines the interests of parents who may not be on board with their children transitioning to the opposite gender by being given puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones.

The Equality Act needs to pass because it remains legal to discriminate against LGTBQ people in both housing and employment in 26 states...
It must be defeated in order to protect individual and religious liberty and the rights of the states.
No state has any right to deny equal protection under law to its citizens...
“Abraham Hamilton III, Ed Vitagliano, and Walker Wildmon explain that what sounds like equal treatment is really special treatment – and they say it will cast an ominous shadow over religious liberty if passed.”
The ADF is now concerned about the bodily privacy of women? That's a change.
No change. We’ve always cared about the safety of women and their right to guns for self defense and for their privacy from being invaded in their shower rooms and bathrooms from men pretending to identify as a woman or girl.
And for their right to determine what happens in their own bodies?
As long as it doesn’t affect the body and life of anyone else no matter their stage of human life development.
I don’t want any man in the same bathroom as my nieces or sister regardless of whether he thinks he wants to ID as female or he’s being a perv pretending to do so.
That would I believe make your previous statements on this matter a lie.
My pro life position has been consistent my entire adult life. I only hope that the Alliance Defending Freedom now turns its attention to Google and their fascist, biased, and bigoted treatment of Christian expression on You Tube and all across the internet.
Sorry I'm not going to play the deflection game with you, enjoy yourself
Why make baseless allegations? My position on these social issues has been rather consistent for decades now.
These laws allowing men pretending they really are a girl to use a ladies room let’s pervs fake it as well. Perv straight men claim to ID as a woman to get in and then be a peeping perv.
