Trump calls for stimulus negotiations to stop until after Election Day
President Donald Trump has ordered his negotiators to halt talks over a new stimulus package, after the two sides have struggled for months to reach a deal. "I have instructed my representatives to stop negotiating until after the election when, immediately after I win, we will pass a major Stimulus Bill that focuses on hardworking Americans and Small Business," Trump wrote in a series of tweets Tuesday afternoon.

Trump has NO regard for the suffering of the American people... caused by his own incompetence.

Trump weighed in shortly after a private conference call with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, the administration's top negotiator, who was scheduled to speak Tuesday with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who has been leading Democrats' negotiations.

The decision to pull the plug on the talks is a major blow to Americans still struggling with the fallout from the once-in-a century pandemic and endangers an economic recovery that for months was driven by the initial $2.2 trillion stimulus passed by Congress in the spring. With that money largely spent and gone, economists have warned more support is imperative in the months ahead.

While Mnuchin and Pelosi were still far apart on a final agreement, according to multiple people involved, they were still very much in negotiations -- with the two scheduled to talk by phone Tuesday afternoon and having continued to trade paper and legislative text over the last several days.

This story is breaking and will be updated.

Everything is about money with him.  He figures that if he waves some cash under your nose, you will do anything he wants.

Of course, wave money under Trump's nose and HE will do anything you want, so just another case of projection on his part.

Most folks would have used that money and put it right back into the economy.

Not me I guess.  I would have made my pot dealer a bit richer and put some away.

My nephew and niece were the big winners with my stimulus...for their baby shower (it was a facebook live shower) I bought so much I had my own table.  They had twin boys and they honored me and my late son by naming the first born after my son

President Donald Trump publicly turned down the Democratic stimulus offer, or the updated $2.2 trillion HEROES Act that passed the House last week, sending stocks  plunging  on Tuesday afternoon.

Still don't get Trump's methods huh. IMHO, he's calling off the stimulus negotiations to get them to get off their respective fat asses and get it done. They need to think long and hard where the blame is going to be placed..........directly on the House with an upcoming election. Fuel for the campaign. And you know it will be used............shit people, meet half way. What's $300billion when you are already close to $2trillion

Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell once again called for more stimulus to keep the economic recovery going. He said the risk of doing too little in terms of stimulus was far greater than the risk of doing too much. But the President disagrees: "Our Economy is doing very well . The Stock Market is at record levels, JOBS and unemployment...also coming back in record numbers," he added on Twitter.

The feds have pumped around $4 trillion to keep the economy afloat.

Can't understand why his supporters still back him.  They could benefit very much from the stimulus, but no.

The House already passed TWO bills Jim. It's the Senate and Trump that haven't done dick. So YA, 'they' need to think long and hard where the blame is going and it is NOT going toward the House.

What's $300billion when you are already close to $2trillion

Great, so 2.3 trillion it is. Done...

Taking care of America and Americans isn't even a close second to the power grab for the SCOTUS that Mitch is going for.

You think the voters haven't noticed?  The GOP is going to get hammered at the ballot box come November.....

Unfortunately, the damage will already have been done. We'll be stuck with the Handmaiden for far too long. I can only hope that being around women with truly brilliant legal minds will cause her to step up to the plate and recognize just how much she has to learn. There will probably be clerks that have a better grasp of the law than she.

So the message is  - if you all vote for me, you get the help you are entitled to in November. If you don't, you will have to wait until January.

This has a familiar ring to it.  Give me what I want and you will get the aid you need to fight the Russians today. If you don't, you can wait til Hell freezes over.

NOPE! Later that day he demanded that they take place in peices, and then apparently today he said he was open to a comprehensive package.

Seriously, people are worried about Biden's mental state?
