2nd Presidential Debate Probably Won't Happen - Trump Balks At New Format

The Debate Commission said the second debate would be held with Trump and Biden appearing from remote locations and a townhall audience in a third location.

President************* Trump refused those conditions and as of right now the debate will not occur.

One would think that Trump would jump at one of the last chances he will have to effect this election, but no.

Biden is well ahead and does not need to debate Trump again.

This format would not only give the moderator a "mute" button, but he could also cut the feed to the audience.  Not only would Trump not be able to distract and deflect his way through the debate, he might actually be held to answering the questions.

So naturally this format is unacceptable to Trump.

I was a bit surprised after the 1st Trump/Biden debate, that nothing was in place to deal with Pence last night.

"Thank you Mr. Vice President", "Your time is up Mr. Vice President", didn't do any better than Wallace's attempts to stop Trump.

My guess would be that Trump still believes he has the ability to intimidate Biden if they are physically in the same room.  It didnt work last time,  but Trump's a slow learner.

Mr. "Law and order" steals musicians' music (He's being sued by Neil Young and the Leonard Cohen estate), contravenes international protocols (broke into a foreign embassy unsuccessfully seeking the evidence of espionage they never had in the first place), spits on traditions (held his acceptance speech at the White House) and ignores rules (the AGREED-TO debate rules).  Thet's Mr. "Law and Order".

Trump is losing his mind. Evidently he has been on multiple television shows this morning. Among other things he said that Kamala Harris is a communist and that instead of using poll results people should judge his popularity by the boat parades that happen in his honor.

Well of course she's not but the communist label doesn't poll today like it did in the '50's. I mean a man with not one but two wives from Communist countries ...

President   Donald Trump   cranked the fear-mongering up to 11 on Thursday as he pronounced Senator   Kamala Harris   a “communist” and claimed that she would swiftly replace   Joe Biden   if the former vice president assumes the Oval Office.

In Trump’s wild interview with   Maria Bartiromo , he was asked to respond to the 2020 Vice Presidential Debate between Harris and   Mike Pence . Trump called Harris “terrible” and “totally unlikable,” then went on a full-throttle tear against the Democratic ticket as a whole

“I don’t think you could get worse,” he said. “She’s a communist! We’re gonna have a communist? I sit next to Joe and I looked at Joe. Joe’s not lasting two months as president. He’s not gonna be lasting two months.”

This went on with Trump claiming Harris is “well beyond a socialist” and wants to let “killers and murderers and rapists pour into our country.”

Later in the interview, Trump called Harris a “monster” who got “destroyed” by Mike Pence at the debate.

President  Donald Trump  pronounced himself a “perfect physical specimen” on Fox Business as he brushed off the coronavirus infection that forced him into three days of hospitalization.

After  rejecting the Commission on Presidential Debate’s plan  to hold a virtual forum because of his infection, Trump claimed “there is nothing wrong” with himself and voiced his urge to resume campaign rallies “tonight”. The interview went on with Trump claiming “I don’t think I am contagious at all,” sneering at face masks, and  Maria Bartiromo  gushing about his “strong form” and “amazing” recovery.

“I’m back because I’m a perfect physical specimen and I’m extremely young,” Trump said. “So I am lucky in that way.”

As Trump denied any significant health problems, he went on by minimizing the virus and touting the drugs and therapeutics that have been put out to treat it. After saying he “didn’t feel great” at first, Trump then claimed “I think I would have done it fine without drugs. You know, don’t really need drugs.”

Again, this comes after Trump was hospitalized for three days, where he received top-grade medical attention around the clock and experimental treatments not available to the masses.

Just judging from what he is saying, I can't believe he isn't being forced by some law or protocol to undergo a psychiatric examination.  I thought America had some kind of law that enabled someone or some group to determine he's out of his mind, and hand the throne to Pence.  Surely America would rather see a robot like Pence at the wheel rather than an obvious madman.

It is time to invoke the 25th Amendment. He is not a perfect physical specimen. I got information from a good source that he weighed in at 315 pounds at Walter Reed

He wants to resume his rallies.  "I don't believe I'm contagious."

The man would not agree to a pre-debate Coronavirus test, and in the absence of that, a virtual debate with Joe Biden.  Who does he think he is fooling?  Oh.  Yeah.  Never mind.

I don't see why they can't go ahead with the debate.

Can't they find an empty chair to  question  when it's Trump's turn?

Republicans have been comfortable with that format before though they needed a translator  "...And when somebody does not do the job, We got to let 'em go."

He hates the idea that people can ignore him. That is his entire problem with the new format.
