Trump's message two weeks out, based on call with staff: -Dr. Fauci is a disaster ” who is a “bomb” every time he’s on TV -Other health officials are “idiots” -Americans no longer care about the pandemic and just think “whatever” -News reports are “fake”

Trump: "Fauci is a disaster. If I listened to him, we’d have 500,000 deaths," before later saying it would be 700,000 or 800,000. "If there’s a reporter on, you can have it just the way I said it, I couldn’t care less." (CNN was given access to the call by a source.)

I doubt he ever gave a s#!t to begin with. I think he originally campaigned as a goof or ego instead of a serious desire. Now he treats the Office as some kind of reality show.

Orange conman is a disgrace to the office he holds.  He is the worst of the worst, the lowest of the low.

He says that if he listened to Fauci, there would be three times as many deaths as there are now.  This from a man who suggested that people be "disinfected" like one would spray a kitchen counter with Lysol.

Just imagine if we have to take 4 more years of this. There will be civil unrest.

Perrie linked a video of Fauci's 60 minute interview. It's very good. Dr Fauci has taken a lot of grief from the White House and from the American public.

I think trmp knows that people trust Fauci more than they trust him and he's starting the fast roll down hill to insanity

There was a Gallup poll done just recently and Fauci's approval rating is DOUBLE that of Trump's. Oh and it also show that voters trust Biden WAY more than Trump on addressing Covid, vaccines, healthcare, employment and civil rights. In fact the only thing Biden didn't whop Trump in was the economy and voters said the economy wasn't their top priority.

This always surprises me.  Biden and Trump are almost even in regards to the economy in polls.

Yet.....

1.Which one of the 2 oversaw the economy when we rose out of the last recession, decreased unemployment, and shrunk the deficit?

AND

2.Which one of the 2 over saw the economy when it was growing and increased unemployment, increased the deficit, and threw us back down into another recession?

Answers: 1.Biden,  2.Trump.

I agree with the gal in the video .. Trump knew this would be leaked - probably counting on it happening.  People are tired of COVID, there is a term for it 'Pandemic Fatigue' .. If 'disaster' is the worst thing Trump calls Fauci .. pffft sticks and stones!

I do however find it interesting on how everyone zeros in on 'Trump knew in January and down played the risks' .. but no one seems to recall that the disease expert Dr Fauci said on the 29th of February that Americans did not need to change their life styles - masks were not needed ............................ so was Fauci down playing the pandemic as well?  Did Trump make him do it?  That is far better story to get worked up over then Trump calling Fauci a disaster ..

lol. I have been bashing Trump for 5 years. I haven't lost a single second of sleep about it.  Because I know I'm right and the people who defend him, even occasionally and half heartedly, are wrong.  It's extremely simple.

Why are there people who make excuses for him , and then when they are called out say they don't like him ?

They should at least have the courage of their convictions.

Where did I make an excuse for him ...?  Never said I did not like Trump.. I said he was a puke and was not defendable.

A phone call such as this OOoooo so easily leaked tape, of all things, is nothing more than pandering to part of his base .. he knows people are fed up with the restrictions, lack of money ... so he is trying to play on their emotions about the subject .. if that is making excuses for him, then so be it .. at least I can sleep at night...

Why do those that are so obsessed with Trump always claim to not lose any sleep when their every waking moment is consumed by the man in the oval office? : )

Yes, yes my precious I am a dreaded 'both sider' ... are you using 'excuses' as a noun?

I will not be voting Biden or Trump .. still undecided in the Montana senate race - prior to July 2020 Bullock had been a good governor ..          but in March he made a partisan move in deciding to run for senate after he refused to .. but then he got wined and dined by the party of (D) .. I am hesitant to vote for him now, he might be too malleable under DC pressure and the Green New Deal  ... not a fan of Daines either .. guess it will come down to whether or not I want to see the senate flip as to whether I vote (D) or (R)

In 4 years I hope to be voting for a quality candidate for a change .. perhaps say .. Nikki Haley .. Pete Buttigieg .. sure as hell not Biden nor Harris...

Take care JohnRussell

Hi Colour,

I am one of those both siders that John has an issue with. Last election I voted for Gary Johnson, since I couldn't stand either Hillary or Trump, (I know them both well as a New Yorker), but this time, I am going to roll the dice and go with Biden. If I don't like him in 4 years, I will be voting him out, but at least we won't have that hateful, uninformed, divisive man in the White House. I think I would vote in Bozo right now. I thought that him getting COVID would humble him, but instead, it emboldens him. He is just an angry, spiteful, a human being who is only interested in feeding his own ego. So, anyone who is not that, I will give a chance to, and so I will be voting Biden.

I can't say I don't wish I could persuade you, but then again, we are not that different and at least I get why you are doing what you are doing.

Be well my friend.

Hello Perrie ...

I was team Biden .. def wanted him to run in 2016 ... might have could have voted for him this cycle had he picked someone the caliber of Buttigieg, Val Demings .. Kesha Lance Bottoms ... but Harris ... she grates on me like H. when she was a candidate .. fingernails down the chalkboard is all I hear when either of them speak.  Petty? Perhaps ... I could not vote for McCain after I met Palin [wowza what a choice that was]

My vote is far more important on the state level -  Montana's 3 votes will go to Trump ... it is a given.  I am a supporter of / believer in the Electoral College so I cannot bitch  : )

Thanks Perrie ..  you be well also .. we will have to catch up soon

P.s...  Trump was never truly sick .. it was merely a setback for him - had he not had the best care possible .. it could have been a different story.  Now he is way cocky .. nothing can humble him, except perhaps the death of one of his children - that might drop him to his knees!

It could happen ... : )

I figure at some point 'we' have to pull our heads out and recognize that if Trump Pence Biden Harris are the best there is, then there is a problem that can only be solved by getting rid of the status quo quid pro quo .. I think it is safe to say that Biden did not run in 2016 because it was H.'s turn... [I believe the official reason about as much as I believe Obama was concerned about how it would look .. so he did nothing about the Russian 'meddling' in 2016]

Some people cannot help but get sucked into the 'if you are not against Trump .. you must be for him' ... the man is a puke, there is nothing about him that is defendable ... but it amazing how he sucks soooo many in with his comments...

Exactly!  And many times it isn’t even his comments, it’s comments attributed to him that an “unnamed source or sources” supposedly told a media outlet or magazine editor who happens to hate Trump, and who trips over his/her own integrity/credibility in a rush to get the “news” out the door.  It’s quite something to behold, and I’d actually feel sorry for the guy if he wasn’t such a turd of a person.

Trump is the reason I left the Republican party in 2016 and he won’t get my vote in 2020 either, but I will not buy every anti-Trump story hook line and sinker simply because he’s an asshole.

In this case Fauci himself said that the Trump administration had followed all of his department’s recommendations at least through April.  So if Fauci is the one to be trusted here, how can Trump be to blame for all 219,000 Covid deaths?  The vast majority of the deaths at least early on occurred in NY and many as a result of policies made by the governor and the mayor of NY City.  Since policies designed to slow the spread are set by State and local authorities even today, how is it that Trump is blamed for all 219,000 deaths in the main stream media, Democratic election campaigns, and right here on Newstalkers?  If folks can’t be honest about things as important as this, how can we trust them to do any better in terms of solving the problem?

End rant... sorry... carry on. (-:

This is a tale without a tail.  Ever since that escalator slide with wife number three there have been dozens---maybe hundreds---of times this man squatting in the people's White House have called other people derogatory-unflattering names.  Doesn't matter, former private person TV entertainer Trump has placed himself in a position where the world he dwells in is a glass house for all to see with the exception of the deaf, dumb and blind.
