Sidney Powell Claims Trump 'Can Simply Be Reinstated,' Biden Told to Leave White House
Trump "should definitely get the remainder of his term and make the best of it," the attorney said Saturday at a "For God & Country Patriot Roundup" conference in Dallas.

S E E D E D   C O N T E N T

Attorney Sidney Powell, who filed baseless 2020 election challenges on behalf of former President Donald Trump, insisted on Saturday that the Republican politician "can simply be reinstated"—continuing to promote conspiracy theories and misinformation about President Joe Biden's victory.

© Drew Angerer/Getty Images Attorney Sidney Powell claimed on Saturday that Trump "can simply be reinstated" as president. In this photo, Powell speaks to the press about various lawsuits related to the 2020 election, inside the Republican National Committee headquarters on November 19, 2020 in Washington, D.C.

Powell made the remarks during the "For God & Country Patriot Roundup" conference in Dallas this weekend. Also speaking at the event was retired general Michael Flynn, the former Trump national security who has also repeatedly pushed false claims about the 2020 election.

"He can simply be reinstated," Powell said of Trump during the conference. The crowd cheered loudly in response to her groundless claims.

"And Biden is told to move out of the White House," the lawyer continued with a smirk on her face. "And President Trump should be moved back in. I'm sure there's not going to be credit for time lost, unfortunately. Because the Constitution itself sets the date for inauguration. But he should definitely get the remainder of his term and make the best of it. That's for sure," Powell insisted.

Powell also suggested that Trump could have fought harder to stay in office. "He had all the tools he needed," she said. "From the day after the election, everyone else around him at the White House was telling him to just pack it up and go home."

In the wake of Trump's election loss in November, the former president initially solicited the legal aid of Powell to formally represent his campaign in court challenges to the results. However, after the attorney was widely mocked for her bizarre and often illogical claims, the then president said publicly that she was not officially part of his legal team. Powell continued to file election challenges independently, including the so-called "Kraken" lawsuits in key battleground states.

Powell's lawsuits, as well as dozens of others filed by Trump and his allies, failed in state and federal courts. Even judges appointed by Trump and other Republicans rejected the allegations. Meanwhile, multiple ballot recounts and audits in key battleground states—including in places where the election was overseen by Republicans who supported Trump—have reaffirmed Biden's election win.

Former Attorney General William Barr, who was widely viewed as one of Trump's most loyal Cabinet members, asserted in December that there was "no evidence" of fraud that would impact the election's outcome. Prior to that, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency at the Department of Homeland Securitydescribed the 2020 election as the "most secure in American history." The federal agency, which was led by a Trump appointee at the time, said there was "no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised."

But Trump, Powell, Flynn and other allies of the former president continue to promote baseless claims about the 2020 election. These groundless allegations have added fuel to the bizarre QAnon conspiracy theory. Adherents to QAnon believe that the country is largely run and controlled by a group of Satan-worshipping pedophile Democratic politicians and Hollywood elites. They believe that Trump has somehow been working to challenge and destroy their organization.

A poll released last week by the Public Religion Research Institute found that nearly a quarter (23 percent) of Republicans agreed with the statement, "the government, media, and financial worlds in the U.S. are controlled by a group of Satan-worshipping pedophiles who run a global child sex trafficking operation." Furthermore, 28 percent of Republicans said they believe that "true American patriots" may need to resort to violence to save the U.S. because it has gone so off track.

"Our country needs to turn around," Brenda Bintz, a retired nurse from New Jersey who attended the weekend conference featuring Powell and Flynn, told The Dallas Morning News. "We've turned our back on God."

Powell is facing a $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems over her false claims about the company's alleged involvement in a plot to rig the election for Biden. In response to the lawsuit, Powell's attorneys said in a March court filing related to the defamation lawsuit "that reasonable people would not accept" Powell's statements about the 2020 election "as fact."

Newsweek reached out to Powell for further comment.

Fun fact:  Mike Flynn apparently donated a signed baseball bat to be auctioned off at the QAnon event.  It fetched $8,000.00.  Yeah, you read that right:  $8,000.00.  Source

No respectable American would ever hire her for legal representation again after her bizarre work for Trump, so she may be lashed to the Q Anon /stop the steal movement for the rest of her life. Come to think of it, that sounds like a deserving fate for her.

Actually, from everything I've read about her, those things don't matter much to her.

Why?

Because everytime she makes a TV appearance (or a live one to a crowd of admirers) a lot of money pours in-- YUGE amounts!

The "True Believers" believe every word she utters-- believe she's going to "Make America Great Again"-- and protect us from the threat posed by the "Evil Socialists".. to say nothing of the Evil Jews with their "Space lasers". They actually believe some of the Zaniest conspiracy theories.

So they think there's a real threat to them-- and that she can prevent it. So, they donate tons of cash to what they think is a good cause. She's actually rolling in cash...

A while back I read an article about one of their beliefs (one of their many anti-Vaccine conspiracies). Many of her loyal followers actually believe that when someone gets the Covid Vaccine shot,...the needle somehow implants a very tiny electronic device in your body-- and this allows the "government" to read your location, and your thoughts.. and IIRC, some versions of this bizarre conspiracy theory say that once that miniature electronic device is implanted...the evil ("Socialist") gov't can control not only your thoughts but also your actions.

Yes-- many of her followers actually do believe that!

(Some of her most ardent admirers are probably even nuttier than she is..if such a thing is possible).

And the really bad news is...they vote.

And many of them will probably reproduce!!!

She almost (or did) get brought up before the legal bar association due to her incendiary lack of professionalism regarding January 6, 2021 capitol riot. Can she be brought up before the Bar (again) for this?

We should all write letters to see what can be done about her 'free-wheeling' talk about violating the Rule of Law.

Well, there is at least one relevant lawsuit. She (& several others) said that the Election was fixed and one way this was done was via voting machines-- the voting machines were inaccurate.."fixed" to give a false outcome.

This of course tarnishes the reputation ot the companies who manufacture them-- so there are law suits by two of those manufacturers claiming that negative statements about their machines are unfairly hurting their business.

Let me put it bluntly. Some conservatives are talking about "taking THEIR country back" - that means they 'own' this place (implying that the bottom-line is they can do whatsoever they want with/to it.) That is, this country will be a democratic republic as long at these conservatives SAY it can be-or else they sat up a place of irreconcilable differences. . . and start a(nother) large-scale home fight!

Oh and Buzz of the Orient, just looking at the actions of some conservatives, they are well pass the stage of caring how this country looks to the world. In their hearts they feel that they can mend, reestablish, connections after they turn this place into a minority-governed apartheid nation.

I wish someone could tell me why the Republicans are trying so desperately to make a farce out of American democracy.

I think its likely that most of them imagine themselves the "majority" even though they aren't even close, but they believe themselves the "real Americans" even though most of them either openly or secretly revere the confederacy which isn't American at all. But by thinking they are the majority of "real Americans", they think democracy is whatever they wish to be enforced upon the minority who they've abhorred for centuries. The new Republican party isn't the party of what the old Republican party believed, they're only interest is in power, control and conserving the power of the white male Christian patriarchy of the past. They welcome with open arms those who marched in the streets chanting "Jews will not replace us!" and waving swastika flags while trying to prevent the removal of a monument celebrating a confederate general, they desperately want to legalize discrimination once again and ban gay marriage, ban a woman's right to terminate a pregnancy and force their faith into public schools, courts and the government.

The irony is this: We, our nation, is confronted by open racists telling us and executing their plans to takeover our government in "nibbles and bits" until they crunch down hard on 'bone': The final and big Swerve!

We keep "shining them on" and not taking them seriously, while they execute the plan in steps and stages.

Powell, Gaetz, Flynn are telling us plainly, they do not intend to compromise with any damn minorities. Racial, sexual, or gender.

For them and other some conservatives, it's thought to be better just to keep the power in their possession and pull in more raw power and take the systems of government through hook or crook! Displace (remove) Rule of Law for an indefinite period.

That's racist. Damn racist. And yes! These fools know this already! But they 'tell' themselves it's their right to 'rule' here.
