NBC silent after retracting Paul Pelosi report under mysterious circumstances
NBC News is staying silent after it retracted its explosive reporting on the Paul Pelosi attack, fueling more questions than answers about last week's assault.

NBC News went viral with an explosive report about what allegedly transpired when police responded to the attack on Paul Pelosi but the network's retraction is fueling even more questions.

NBC News caused a firestorm on social media after it retracted its explosive reporting on last week's attack of Paul Pelosi.

On Friday's installment of "Today," NBC News national correspondent Miguel Almaguer went viral for stunning revelations of what apparently transpired when police arrived to Pelosi's San Francisco home.

"Sources familiar with what unfolded in the Pelosi residence now revealing when officers responded to the 'high priority call,' they were seemingly unaware they've been called to the home of the Speaker of the House," Almaguer told viewers. "After a 'knock and announce,' the front door was opened by Mr. Pelosi. The 82-year-old did not immediately declare an emergency or tried to leave his home but instead began walking several feet back into the foyer toward the assailant and away from police. It's unclear if the 82-year-old was already injured or what his mental state was, say sources."

"According to court documents, when the officer asked what was going on, defendant smiled and said 'everything's good' but instantaneously a struggle ensued as police clearly saw David DePape strike Paul Pelosi in the head with a hammer. After tackling the suspect, officers rushed to Mr. Pelosi who was lying in a pool of blood," Almaguer continued.

Almaguer concluded his report by telling "Today" co-host Craig Melvin "we still don't know exactly what unfolded between Mr. Pelosi and the suspect for the 30 minutes they were alone inside that house before police arrive. Officials who are investigating this matter would not go into further details about these new details."

The report made the rounds on Twitter with critics saying the revelations raised more questions than answers regarding what occurred at the Pelosi residence.

However, not long after it was shared online, NBC News removed the report from its website and on social media.

NBC News issued an editor's note on its website, reading "This piece has been removed from publication because it did not meet NBC News reporting standards."

It is unclear what specifically from Almaguer's report did not meet the network's "reporting standards."

NBC News did not immediately respond to Fox News' requests for comment.

Paul Pelosi was released from the hospital on Thursday, nearly one week after the shocking attack at his home. The 82-year-old underwent emergency surgery on a fractured skull.

DePape was charged with multiple crimes, including attempted homicide, assault with a deadly weapon, burglary and elder abuse.

The 42-year-old illegal immigrant from Canada allegedly wanted to hold House Speaker Nancy Pelosi hostage and threatened to break "her kneecaps" if he caught her lying, according to court documents.

Police recovered zip ties in Pelosi's bedroom, found glass broken at the rear of the house, tape, rope, gloves and a journal, according to the FBI affidavit.

The details of this attack seem very strange:

Paul Pelosi has an intruder in the house, he calls the police and they come, when they arrive he opens the door for them and then turns back and walks toward the intruder who hits Pelosi over the head with a hammer. The intruder broke in. There are alarms but they don't go off. There are cameras all over the property but nobody notices. Does anyone else think that this is strange?

Why the censorship by NBC of their own story?

Why the lack of transparency by the police?

Before somebody calls me a "conspiracy theorist,"  please note: that I am only asking logical questions.

And how many other hammer attacks have piqued such interest? This is just another in a too long list of politically motivated ‘hit’ pieces.

It should be a frightening reminder of just how divisive the dialogue has become when a fellow citizen is attacked in his home in the middle of the night and somehow that attack is marginalized for purely puerile political purposes.

How do you bring yourself to make such a ridiculous comparison?   This suggests that Biden is attempting to turn our system into one that is:

  • authoritarian:  destroying our constitution, hobbling/destroying democracy
  • command economy:  diminishing / destroying the private sector and free market dynamics, and having the government manage supply and demand
  • single party rule:  one party in perpetual total power with a class system that sharply distinguishes the haves (party members) from the have nots (all others)
  • brutality:  mass murdering civilians to eliminate enemies and force compliance by the masses
  • intrusion:   the state monitoring and interfering with the private lives of citizens
  • controlled media:  the state controls public information

Why not just compare Biden with Stalin ... you are almost there?

Yes he is like Stalin.

He has weaponized the DOJ/FBI to investigate/intimidate parents. He also schemed to get a school board association to send the DOJ a letter asking for help with local school board meetings.

He has threatened FBI whistleblowers who talked to members of congress.

He has supported a double standard of justice and his DOJ is out trying to prosecute political enemies.

He has maliciously punished without evidence members of the border patrol for using "whips' on migrants.

He has violated his duty as president to protect the borders of the US

He has continued to lie to the American people on everything from the economy to racism

You have missed the concept of rational comparison.    You are comparing a brutal authoritarian dictator to a PotUS.   You are comparing the former USSR to the USA that Biden seeks.

I think anyone who compares Biden to Stalin has destroyed their credibility.

As for this story. The bottom line is that an 82 year old man was beaten with a hammer. Even if they were lovers (they were not, nor would it be anyone's business but the Pelosi family), this is still a crime and a brutal one at that.

Let me refresh your memory:

"We're seeing now either the beginning or the death knell of an extreme MAGA agenda,"  Reuters reported Biden saying at the fundraiser,  referring to former President Trump's "Make America Great Again" slogan. "It's not just Trump. ... It's almost semi-fascism."

"Trump and the extreme MAGA Republicans have made their choice,"   Biden said to the party faithful.   "To go backwards, full of anger, violence, hate and division.

"MAGA Republicans don't just threaten our personal rights and economic security," Biden said. "They are a threat to our very democracy. They refuse to accept the will of the people. They embrace — embrace — political violence. They don't believe in democracy."

Biden wants to be Chi, not Stalin.

He wants to create a population that is subservient and never questions rule. That is so preprogrammed and used to the yoke of oppression that any rebellion will be put down by the oppressed. He would really like to make all dissenters disappear to reeducation camps- with no one ever questioning; many to never be heard from again.

Biden talks a good game about using the military against half the population that has the temerity not to agree with him; but when it comes to actually doing it- he simply doesn't have the balls to go beyond a Stalin wannabe.

Even if they were lovers (they were not, nor would it be anyone's business but the Pelosi family), this is still a crime and a brutal one at that.

Yes it is a crime; one that Brandon; Democrats, and their media lemmings have tried to turn to their political advantage.

Funny how the media quickly ignored and moved on from the story of the deranged veteran that attacked the Republican candidate for governor of NY. Of course the attacker was back out on the street the next day. No charges for attempted murder; assault with a deadly weapon; or federal charges for being a political hate crime.

An attempted assault on Representative Lee Zeldin , the Republican candidate for governor of New York, inflamed a fierce debate over the state’s public safety laws on Friday, hours after a man accused of charging the candidate with a pointed weapon was released without bail.

Mr. Zeldin has long made public safety a centerpiece of his campaign against Gov. Kathy Hochul, a Democrat. But he and his allies argued on Friday that the episode viscerally drove home the need to increase policing and tighten New York’s bail laws to make it easier for judges to hold people charged with certain crimes.

“Only in Kathy Hochul’s New York could a maniac violently attack a candidate for Governor and then be released without bail,” Nick Langworthy, the New York Republican Party chairman, wrote on Twitter . “This is what happens when you destroy the criminal justice system.”

The attack took place Thursday night outside a Veterans of Foreign Wars hall near Rochester, where Mr. Zeldin was holding the first in a series of weekend campaign stops. As the candidate was discussing public safety and rising costs of living, a man, who was later identified by the police as David G. Jakubonis, slowly approached him.

Video footage of the encounter showed Mr. Jakubonis wielding a pointed plastic self-defense tool shaped like the face of a cartoon cat as he lunged at Mr. Zeldin. Mr. Jakubonis can be heard on video repeatedly saying, “You’re done.”

Mr. Zeldin, a four-term congressman from Long Island, was not injured. Others, including his running mate, the former New York City police officer Alison Esposito, rushed the stage and wrestled the man to the ground.

Mr. Jakubonis, 43, of Fairport, N.Y., was charged with attempted assault in the second degree, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, and released on his own recognizance. Since 2020, under New York law, judges have been barred from setting bail on the charge of attempted assault, a nonviolent felony; previously, prosecutors would have had the option to request that Mr. Jakubonis be held on bail.

"The decision was made to remove the segment after it was determined, shortly after it aired, that the main source for the information was unreliable regarding the question of the circumstances that the police encountered when they arrived at the house, specifically what the police saw and how far the attacker was from the door," the source said.

You [deleted a conspiracy deleted] and were long before this particular story.

Why the censorship by NBC of their own story?

The conspiracy theory assumes that the reporter told the "truth" and NBC is covering it up by removing it.

Maybe the reporter just fucked up and misrepresented the facts and no one at NBC caught it before it went on the air.

At some point Paul Pelosi , and the attacker, will tell us their versions of what happened. Speculating that they were friends who had a gay lovers quarrel is despicable.

After Pelosi opened the door, why did he walk back to DePape instead of getting behind the police who were there to save his life? And, why didn't he leave the house after police arrived and head toward the other officers? Very strange behavior for a man who allegedly called 911 to report a "home invasion".

"Joe Biden lost no time blaming ultra-mega-semi-fascist-MAGA Donald Trump supporters for the  strange attack on Paul Pelosi in his San Francisco home  early Friday.

Barack Obama did the same , using a rally in Michigan for failed Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to rail against “politicians who work to stir up division to try to make us angry and afraid of one another for their own advantage.”

So did Hillary Clinton, who tweeted: “The Republican Party and its mouthpieces now regularly spread hate and deranged conspiracy theories. It is shocking, but not surprising, that violence is the result.”

So did Kamala Harris, demanding people “speak out against hate.”

So did every other Democratic surrogate, like Hollywood director Rob Reiner, who tweeted: “Donald Trump is 100% responsible for this and Jan.6.”

So did all the Democrat-aligned media who delivered the same talking points in unison, along with dubiously sourced facts and a false depiction of the alleged attacker as a MAGA Republican in  defiance of his drug-addicted hippy lifestyle , Green Party membership and the BLM and LGBT signs festooned across his sometime residence, a nudist commune in San Francisco’s gay Castro distric

It was a full-court press designed to flip the attack on the House speaker’s husband into an “October surprise” as Dems look down the barrel of a brutal shellacking from the voters next week.

It was their last desperate effort — because they have nothing else, apart from abortion — to smear their political opponents as violent “insurrectionists” and election “deniers” who are a threat to democracy.

For Biden and pals, everything is Trump’s fault, laughably even inflation, crime and the wide-open southern border.

Although San Francisco police made a point of saying that they don’t know the motive of the alleged attacker, David DePape, who was arrested at 2:30 a.m., reportedly in his underwear, at the Pelosi family home, that didn’t stop the president linking the attack to Jan. 6 less than 24 hours later.

During a speech in Pennsylvania on Friday night,  Biden claimed DePape asked , “‘Where’s Nancy?’ — the same chant was used by this guy that they have in custody that was used on January 6, the attack on the US Capitol.”

The president repeated his theory to reporters the next day: “You can’t condemn the violence unless you condemn those people who continue to argue the election was not real, that it’s been stolen, all the malarkey that’s being put out there to undermine democracy … This talk produces the violence … the talk has to stop.”

Problem is, Democrats have been trying to “stop the talk” since Trump came on the scene, with limited success, but a lot of violations of the First Amendment.

So far, they’ve coopted Big Tech to censor speech they don’t like or stories politically damaging to Democratic candidates. They’ve harnessed the FBI to bury inconvenient evidence like Hunter Biden’s laptop, and harass people committing wrongthink, like parents at school board meetings, or Christian pro-lifer Mark Houck, raided by a SWAT team in front of his seven children.

But they have not succeeded in changing hearts and minds.

If anything, the heavy-handed, quasi-Stasi repression has had the opposite effect, red-pilling independents and even some Democrats — as the upcoming red tsunami at the midterms should show.

A case in point is the hilarious focus group MSNBC staged last week in Pennsylvania to try to show Trump voters as misinformed cult members. It backfired big-time.

Media bias exposed

The focus group members pushed back on the media double standard when it comes to downplaying months of deadly riots before the 2020 election.

“Except on a much smaller scale, [the Jan. 6 riot ] looked the same as the Black Lives Matter riots,” said one.

They fact-checked the reporter, rebutting every Jan. 6 propaganda point: No cops were killed, there was zero evidence that people were “throwing excrement at the walls” and yes, Speaker Pelosi did have the “authority” to authorize the National Guard to back up the undermanned Capitol Police that day — as did her then-Senate Republican counterpart, Mitch McConnell — and they failed to do so, despite repeated requests from Police Chief Steve Sund, a mystery yet to be addressed.

“Our administration, I feel like, is using [Jan.6] as their Reichstag fire,” said one of the focus group voters.

Kaboom.

It was a stunning dismantling of the left-wing media narrative about Jan. 6, delivered respectfully by resolute and unrepentant Trump voters who were far more informed than the brainwashed reporter trying to expose them as bitter “clingers” and “chumps” for Morning Joe to laugh at.

Of course, the Brits were also involved but at that time the majority of their forces were fighting the Americans and of course the French and Bonaparte elsewhere.

I've read several reports stating that Nancy Pelosi was one of several prominent people on DePape's hit list, but none of them specify the names or political associations of his targeted victims. True/False? Nobody knows.

Perhaps he isn't a native born Canadian citizen but a naturalized citizen? Perhaps he was born in a country that the US considers a state sponsor of terrorism, i.e., Syria, Iran, Cuba? True/False? Nobody knows.

Thank you, Buzz. Since so many details are missing, I'm simply viewing this with an open mind until if/when we know more. We also must remember that CA is a "sanctuary state" and San Francisco is a "sanctuary city". Criminal illegal aliens are released on a daily basis without having to pay bail. However, DePape is being held without a bail option . Why is the alleged assault on Paul Pelosi more important than the hundreds of people who have been assaulted and/or died at the hands of other criminal illegal aliens? Seems like a hypocritical "justice system" to me.

Today, I came across more information about DePape:

Paul Pelosi's release from the hospital comes as a federal official says the Canadian man accused of breaking into their home and attacking him should have been flagged by immigration officials and blocked from getting back into the U.S. after overstaying his authorized entry more than two decades ago. CNN was first to report Pelosi's release from the hospital.

David DePape, 42, legally entered the United States in 2000 and later left the country and returned a few times, including entering in March 2008 at San Diego’s San Ysidro border crossing, said a U.S. official who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter.

Most Canadians are not required to obtain a visa to enter the U.S. as tourists and can stay for up to six months. The official said it was unclear why U.S. authorities admitted DePape after he overstayed his entry in 2000.

The cost and technological hurdles to develop a checkout system at congested land crossings with Canada and Mexico are enormous. In the 12-month period through September 2020, more than 52,000 Canadians who came to the U.S. by air or sea had overstayed their legally authorized entry.

Despite the challenges, the U.S. official said DePape’s overstay should have been noted in immigration records, which, in theory, should have prevented authorities from admitting him.

Buzz, if the US chose to take Canada- the US military wouldn't have time to burp and the war would already be over.

We don't want Canada. Most Americans can't stand hockey. There are already too many teams in the NFL; and joining the USFL would be the death nell for Canadian football. We would need translators to understand the majority of Canadians. We would need to outlaw the use of the word "eh"; it was used up on the movie "Strange Brew" and gives us a headache.

Besides Brandon would never attack a fellow Fascist leader in Canada.

Of course.  There is a line in a Canadian poem "And leave our defence to the Yankees."

"...joining the USFL would be the death nell for Canadian football."

I agree.  Canadians are not at all as devoted to football as Americans are.  Canada is "Hockey Nation", although I got more attached to baseball when the Blue Jays came to town.

"We would need translators to understand the majority of Canadians."

Surely only the ones who only speak French, and Newfies.  We say "eh" and you say 'huh".  The Fonz exaggerated our "eh" to "aayyyy" and that's okay?

You've got the "fascist" thing backward.  It's a ridiculous joke that you can call liberals fascists and socialists at the same time.  And, LOL, Trudeau is a Liberal, as was his father (but Justin's not anywhere near what his father was, IMO the best PM Canada ever had during my lifetime).  I voted Conservative in both Provincial and Federal elections for the last 4 decades

It's on the internet, of course.

NBC News pulls report on Paul Pelosi attack

A network source told CNN it pulled the segment after the source of the report's information was found to be unreliable.

"The decision was made to remove the segment after it was determined, shortly after it aired, that the main source for the information was unreliable regarding the question of the circumstances that the police encountered when they arrived at the house, specifically what the police saw and how far the attacker was from the door," the source said.

In the wake of the attack, prominent right-wing media personalities have pushed a number of false conspiracy theories about the assault.

Somebody should stop you with a time-out for spreading lies.

Weird behavior on Pelosi's part. Why?

He's 82, woken up by a stranger in the house at 2:30AM and senses that the intruder is crazy.  Who knows what DePape told him prior to the Police arrival?  What is normal behavior?

NBC reported that Paul Pelosi told cops David was his friend and everything was fine. Paul was a friend of Ed Buck's, one would have a hard time believing that all is what it seems. Not being a Democrat hack I am confident in saying that likely Paul was engaged in sexual activities with David and things got out of hand. Someone forgot their safe word and well they both got hammered.

The entire home is on cctv, release the footage and disprove what most people believe. Nancy was away and Paul was getting some dick.

Given what we presently know

Which everyone should agree...is nothing. Curious, we saw video of the Uvalde shooter before any sort of trial, right? I can think of a myriad of situations where footage was released. Why not here? High profile case? Afraid of tainting the jury? Jury is tainted already. According to the news, the "accused" broke in and bludgeoned Pelosi with a hammer. WTF are we waiting for? Hang the guy already...he did it. Why wait for a trial?

To those claiming this is a conspiracy theory, that the jury shouldn't be tainted by the release of any footage, that Pelosi is a victim of some wild conservative hippy from Canada...I ask this. What would the release of 5 seconds of body cam footage hurt? What would it hurt to release the video of when and how they 1st entered and were 1st greeted?

As an aside, it is entirely in the realm of reason, logic, and possibility that the cool and calm 911 call was made and Pelosi thought the cops could get there and dispose of any "threat," and they did arrive, but the Canadian hippy hit him with a hammer upon realizing that Pelosi called the cops. You don't need to go down a conspiracy rabbit hole to get there. Crazy fuckers don't care if the cops are present or not. There doesn't have to be a conspiracy. The silence and dodgy actions are what adds oxygen to this.

Paul Pelosi answered the door, said there wasn't a problem. This is kind of a problem based on the narrative that was originally portrayed. Why hide the truth, release the cctv. The entire house is on camera.

I suspect Paul and his friend were engaged in sex acts and something went wrong. I could care less if Paul likes a visit from a Rooster on occasion. I think it would actually be beneficial to tell the truth here. I think supporters of Nancy would appreciate it. It's not like it's her husband is the only one that likes to chub the rooster when the hen is away.

I also can't help but notice how fast this story disappeared after NBC pulled their article. Whoops, time to move on, Paul is fine, nothing to see here.
