Fox News is fake news.  Fox News is pure Retrumplican propaganda .  The idiots who watch Fox don't know the truth.  The latest Fox propaganda is designed to make President Biden appear to be senile.  Fox uses careful editing to give the illusion that Biden is an old incompetent man who is not qualified to run the government.

800

Fucker Carlson, who has the highest rated show on Fox, is a Russian asset.  Like Trump, Carlson praises Putin.  Clips from Carlson's show are regularly featured on Russian state TV.  And, conversely, Carlson frequently uses Russian talking points on his show.  Several Retrumplican politicians also use Russian talking points.

North Carolina Republican Rep. Madison Cawthorn recently called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky a "thug" and the Ukrainian government "incredibly evil," criticizing the country and its leader as Russia invades it. https://www.cnn.com/2022/03/10/politics/madison-cawthorn-volodymyr-zelensky-comments/index.html

Fucker Carlson is a Russian asset.  Fox News is also a Russian asset.  Several popular talking heads on Fox are also trying to minimize Russia's war crimes.  Fox propaganda about President Biden is designed to influence their idiotic viewers and to please Putin.  Fortunately, Carlson has zero credibility with intelligent people.

Fox News won a court case by 'persuasively' arguing that no 'reasonable viewer' takes Tucker Carlson seriously

  • A federal judge on Thursday dismissed a lawsuit against Fox News after lawyers for the network argued that no "reasonable viewer" would take the network's primetime star Tucker Carlson seriously.
  • The former Playboy model Karen McDougal filed a defamation suit against Fox alleging that Carlson slandered her during a December 2018 episode of his show, "Tucker Carlson Tonight."
  • The network asked a judge to dismiss the case, arguing that "Carlson's statements were not statements of fact and that she failed adequately to allege actual malice."
  • The judge agreed with Fox's premise, adding that the network "persuasively argues" that "given Mr. Carlson's reputation, any reasonable viewer 'arrive[s] with an appropriate amount of skepticism' about the statements he makes."
  • Carlson has long made racist and controversial statements as a primetime host on Fox News and has lost several advertisers because of it. https://www.businessinsider.com/fox-news-karen-mcdougal-case-tucker-carlson-2020-9

Fox News Doctored Clips of Obama’s Visit to the White House to Make It Seem Like Biden Was Lost

Barack Obama visited the White House for the first time since he left office on Tuesday. He was there to celebrate the 12th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, as well as to watch President Biden sign an executive order aimed at improving the law. Obama’s return created plenty of commotion, and for Fox News and the rest of the right-wing ecosphere, a fresh opportunity to cast Biden as a weaker, watered-down version of the former president.

The Republican National Committee shared two clips of the visit that quickly went viral. The first shows an ostensibly confused Biden ambling around the stage as Obama holds court behind him. The second is similar, with Biden standing on the periphery as Obama greets well wishers

The clips even made it onto the Fox News primetime slate. “Biden doesn’t know what on earth he’s doing or, at times, where he even is,” Lauran Ingraham said as she played the first clip. Tucker Carlson played the second, along with a “King Obama” graphic depicting the former president wearing a crown and a menacing scowl. “Make it stop,” Carlson said. “It’s awful.”

The only problem is that both clips were taken out of context. Biden does look a little confused in the first clip, but it’s only because he’s looking for someone, perhaps Interior Secretary Deb Haaland, whom he brings up onstage to applause shortly after the conservative media cut ends. The second clip ends right before Biden gets Obama’s attention and introduces him to someone. Twitter user @acyn helpfully attached the full clips to the end of the Fox News segments lambasting the edited versions.

Newsmax got in on the action, too. The network on Tuesday ran a “PRESIDENT OBAMA 2.0” graphic along with a bizarre chyron about how Biden and Obama are “beta males.” It also showed the clips, both with similar deceptive edits. “At one point he’s just walking aimlessly through the room,” an on-air commentator said on Wednesday morning. “It’s really sad. He doesn’t know where to go.”

“This is a lost old man. This is when I pulled out the 25th Amendment,” another added before arguing that the 25th Amendment, which allows for the removal of the president from office if they’re unable to discharge their duties, could be in play before 2024. “I believe it is if the evidence continues to mount that President Biden is actually incapable of performing his job,” she said.

As I've said many times, granpappy told me to not believe anything I hear or read and only half of what I see, but those were the days before photoshopping and digital video editing, so now the only thing anyone can believe is what they see with their own two eyes, and even then one can't be so sure.  For national and international political reasons disinformation has become the rule and the belief in it and propounding of it is now a mental disease that pervades worse than a covid pandemic.

What do you mean by “doctored?” To me, it means they changed the image. Like, if they made Biden look like Dick Clark, or had him walking on the Moon, that would be “doctored.” If what they showed was real, you could argue it was unfairly edited, but it hasn’t been doctored.

I think that is a little bit of hair splitting. When you show an excerpt of a video , and end it a second or two before something that comes on the video proves your argument completely wrong, I think something was doctored. How about the truth was doctored. Is that better for you?

I think that is a little bit of hair splitting.

Then use the right word to describe what really happened. If you have to lie and exaggerate using the wrong word, then maybe it’s not as big a deal as you make it out to be. Furthermore, by playing fast and loose with the definition of words in this way, you become the very thing you accuse FoxNews of being.

Is that better for you?

Criticism or rebuttal that is honest would be better for me.

Okay, the video was unfairly edited to portray Biden as lost/confused.

The word 'doctored' does have a broad definition (quite a few synonyms for the root verb 'doctor' including 'tamper with' and 'change').   But hopefully JR will be able to accept 'unfairly edited'.

The whole video is x amount of minutes. Fox News "altered" those minutes into a shorter version which deliberately left out footage that showed Biden in a better light.

I just dont think its worth debating whether or not that constitutes "doctoring". Technically it may not, but I think its almost a difference without a distinction.

Many people and actions are worthy of legitimate criticism, but too often those people or actions are characterized as something much worse than is warranted, which damages the credibility of even the impulse to criticize.

Because if the truth were enough, people would stick to that. Instead, they engage in a campaign of character assassination. Victory - not truth - becomes the goal. As I said above, when you (or anyone else) engages in this practice, you become everything you say you hate about FoxNews.

Any one of us could be followed around by a video camera at a party or gathering like this and a great percentage would look "clueless" or lost for a moment or two. The full length video that CB posted yesterday showed Biden engaging with any number of people, and in fact there were people that went up to him to engage with him. So for a few moments he looked alone. BFD. The complaints are ridiculous.

I always find it interesting that different people can look at the same thing and have entirely different conclusions of what they saw.  For instance some people can look at burning buildings and see a riot and others look at the same thing and see mostly peaceful.  In this case some people see a doddering old fool and others see him working the room.  And someplace in the middle is the truth.

I see Obama in the spotlight and Joe being a bit forgotten.  It should not come as a surprise considering how revered Obama is that Joe would be second fiddle for the night.  What is funny is how the right makes an issue out of something that is to be expected and the left comes to the rescue to say Nope, what you saw is not what happened at all.

The FACT is right wing media has distorted the meaning of the footage of Biden. That is fact, not opinion. In one clip they purport to show Biden wandering aimlessly when the full video shows he was looking for someone in particular he wanted to bring onstage. In the second clip Biden is supposedly being ignored when he was standing behind a jovial Obama when in reality Biden was waiting for the opportunity to tell Obama that he had someone he wanted him to meet.

Reality and right wing media have never made acquaintance.

People can decide for themselves whether or not NBC maliciously left out the 911 dispatchers question about Martin's race.

I went back and listened to the whole call. What disturbs me is that the dispatcher never asked Zimmerman why he was stalking someone who wasnt committing any crime.

Zimmerman tells the dispatcher that it is raining and implies that anyone walking in the rain in the dark must be up to no good. There is no evidence that Trayvon Martin was up to no good prior to him going to confront the person who had been stalking him through the rainy night.

The bottom line is that main-stream media cannot be trusted to report truthfully on everything.  They ALL will selectively edit footage to "prove" their point and slant their reporting on their own bias.  Some reporters are better than others at hiding their bias and a few will actually report almost bias-free (but those are the exceptions unfortunately).

When Fox showed the "edited" video of Biden the other day, the Fox hosts explicitly attacked Biden as being "lost" and "confused" when the full video showed a different picture.

Whether or not the NBC version of the 911 call was unfair to Zimmerman is quite debatable.

Oh come on,  NBC admitted they did it.

You can try to hide behind it but the simple fact is that once again main-stream media was caught selectively editing something to help paint the picture they wanted to portray rather than just report the facts.  Your comment about how people can decide for  themselves is crap IMO because people have been trained to believe their own bias and accept what they believe to be true.  We see it over and over every day even on this site.  You are doing it now with the last line you entered in the above comment.  You can deny it but it's obvious that it's your bias.

When Fox showed the "edited" video of Biden the other day, the Fox hosts explicitly attacked Biden as being "lost" and "confused" when the full video showed a different picture.  Whether or not the NBC version of the 911 call was unfair to Zimmerman is quite debatable.

Yes, I agree with your statement on what Fox news was doing.  I feel your bias is preventing  you from viewing the Zimmerman issue in a neutral light.

What about the CNN edits of Nick Sandman?  What are your thoughts on that?

Exactly, what is amazing is that some people continue to insist only the other guys do it and their side only reports the facts and would never do anything malicious to try and promote their narrative even in cases where they are caught and admit it.  Unfortunately it makes it almost impossible to have a rational discussion with them.

What I am seeing more of that I find interesting is the swiping of the media outlets against other media outlets.  You can't go a day without CNN and MSNBC pointing out what fox is saying (often edited with their own spin) or Fox pointing out (often edited with their own spin) the same about CNN and MSNBC.  I understand it has gotten so bad one of the executives of the new owners of CNN reached out to fox and said they would be calling a cease fire.  Not sure how true that is though.

Nope.  Faux 'news' are the only ones who do that.

You said the same nonsense to me the other day about bias.  The hypocrisy is mind boggling.

NBC should not have left out the 911 dispatchers question as to Martins race, although in the big picture that question had little to do with what happened that night.

In the Biden video, the deception is the entire basis for talking about the video. Without the deception the Fox hosts would have had no reason to comment on the video.

Oh for fuck sake..   numerous examples are pointed out above and  you refuse to acknowledge.  CNN was sued over their selective editing of Nick Sandman and they settled rather than go to court where they could have lost much more than the settlement amount and have on public record that they did it.  I don't understand how you can willfully ignore the evidence that is all around you.  I think it's rather sad that you live in such a state of denial.

Got it, ignore what you don't want to answer because it blows up your narrative.  Both are examples of a national news organization performing selective edits on footage to fit their bias and portray what they wanted the article to say.  You can shift to a "big picture" but it's meaningless...   main-stream media cannot and should not be trusted to be truthful.

It is sad.  I am not sure if it is a cry for attention or if some people may consider their beliefs like a religion to be believed without question.

FOX 'doctored' Obama's WH video?

Wouldn't get into a twist over this, after all, FOX has been manipulating every video of Trump for at least six years to 'fix' his deer in the headlights look, his omnipresent scowl, his ever-leering side looks at legs and his downcast body mannerisms of obedience whenever a Russian is nearby.
