Typical of the lamestream media we all hate.  Not a surprise at all and yet Trump still did far better than sleepy Joe.

'How long will NBC go before giving an actual voter the chance to ask a question?' pollster Frank Luntz asked

Critics piled on the NBC News town hall for what appeared to be a "debate" between President Trump and moderator Savannah Guthrie while the ABC News town hall lobbed "softballs" to Joe Biden

Viewers who tuned into the Peacock Network expected to hear questions from voters, but similarly to the NBC town hall with Biden, questions for nearly the first 20 minutes of the program came from the moderator.

Guthrie spent much of that time grilling Trump on masks and white supremacy.

That didn't sit well with many.

"How long will NBC go before giving an actual voter the chance to ask a question?" pollster Frank Luntz asked, who later called the "town hall" descriptor of the program "false advertising."

"A third of the way into the NBC town hall and NO questions from the PEOPLE!!!" White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany exclaimed.

"Savannah Guthrie posture toward Trump compared to Lester Holt’s toward Biden is night and day," The Hill media reporter Joe Concha wrote, recalling the previous NBC town hall with the former VP.

"Trump went from debating Biden to Guthrie! Not sure whether this is good or bad yet ... but he's definitely debating tonight," CNN commentator Scott Jennings said.

"The questions from the NBC audience are actually pretty good and fair--so far--and it's only been Savannah Guthrie that has been awful," Daily Wire reporter Ryan Saavedra tweeted.

"The fake pretense of a 'town hall' when every aspect of it has been orchestrated in advance by the producers is such obnoxious BS," progressive journalist Michael Tracey wrote.

Meanwhile, over on ABC, NewsBusters managing editor Curtis Houck compared the first "softball" Biden received to the first question Trump received at his town hall last month.

Here's the first question of the ABC #BidenTownHall -- a softball from a committed Democrat lamenting 'the lack of coordinated federal action on COVID-19" from Trump. In contrast, Trump's first question from a so-called GOPer saying he threw 'vulnerable people...under the bus,'" Houck summarized.

Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh called out the disparency between both networks.

"These two town halls capture perfectly the difference in media treatment, Trump vs. Biden. ABC is doing everything they can to keep Joe Biden comfortable. Meanwhile, Savannah Guthrie is attacking the President like she openly hates him. Couldn’t be encapsulated better," Murtaugh tweeted.

Both NBC and ABC were previously scrutinized for what were described as "undecided" voters had previously expressed animus towards President Trump and favoritism towards Joe Biden.

NBC was blasted by liberals for scheduling its Trump town hall opposite of Biden's town hall on ABC.

In a town hall with NBC News on Thursday night, President Trump spoke the truth about Speaker Pelosi’s opposition to an additional coronavirus relief package. Asked why a fourth stimulus package has not yet been signed into law, the president called out Speaker Pelosi’s politically-driven delay tactics that have inhibited the passage of economic relief for Americans in need.

Indeed, Democrats are responsible for blocking the last relief package that was proposed by Republicans and had the backing of the White House. Just over a month ago, Democrats filibustered discussion on, and eventual passage of, a $300 billion dollar package.

In typical mainstream media fashion, President Trump was asked if he condemns white supremacy, as he already has. As the president pointed out, former Vice President Joe Biden has not yet been forced to condemn Antifa and other groups responsible for the violent riots plaguing American cities.

Biden also participated in a town hall with ABC News on Thursday night....

In a first in his political career, President Donald Trump has committed to a "peaceful transition of power," but not before pointing to the Obama-Biden administration for not living up to that standard, despite no rebuke of it.

"Let me just tell you, they talked about the peaceful transfer, right?" Trump told NBC News' Savannah Guthrie during his town hall debate in Miami on Thursday night. "They spied on my campaign and they got caught, and they spied heavily on my campaign.

"And they tried to take down a duly elected sitting president and then they talk about, 'will you accept a peaceful transfer?' And the answer is, 'yes, I will,' but I want it to be an honest election and so does everybody else."

Trump made a pointed rebuke to debate moderators not asking Joe Biden and Democrats about a peaceful transition of power.

"Savannah, I want it to be clean," Trump continued. "I really think I'm going to win, but I want this to be clean. It's sort of ironic that you and them talk about the peaceful transfer when I spent 3½ years fighting off these maniacs and now it turns out, everything's there, that they were the ones that dealt with Russia and it's too bad.

"Peaceful transfer, I absolutely want that, but ideally I don't want a transfer, I want to win."

Trump, dueling Biden on separate networks in his own town-hall style debate, was combative at times with host Guthrie, but was also forceful on direct questioning about his pandemic positions, economic recovery, healthcare reform, preexisting conditions, tax returns, and being "under levered" with debt compared to assets with the Trump Organization.

"I am extremely under levered," Trump declared, adding a vow to reveal the debt the Trump Organization owes in the form of what he called "mortgages."

"I can tell you this, if they have my tax returns as you know, they have to go to jail," Trump said. "It's illegal. The numbers are wrong. Let me tell you what else. I don't owe money to any sinister people. Russia, Russia, Russia is a hoax. It turned out Hillary Clinton and the Democrats were dealing with Russia, not me.

"It's a whole hoax. So I would not mind at all saying who it is, but it's a very small – when you look at vast properties like I have, and they're big and they're beautiful and they're well located – when you look at that, the amount of money, $400 million, it's a peanut, extremely under levered and it's levered with normal banks. Not a big deal."

Trump also made an impassioned plea for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., to come together to deliver much-needed coronavirus impact stimulus for hurting Americans.

"The problem you have is Nancy Pelosi," Trump said. "She couldn't care less about the worker. She couldn't care about our people. I want a stimulus. The Republicans want to approve a stimulus. She doesn't want to do it, because she thinks it's bad for her election.

"The fact is, she's wrong. She's in our way. She's not approving it. She doesn't appreciate our people and she doesn't appreciate at all our workers."

Ultimately, Americans need help for the pain inflicted by China, Trump said.

"You know who I'm negotiating against? Nancy Pelosi, she doesn't want to give the money," he continued. "This was not our people's fault. This was China's fault and she's penalizing our people. I'm ready to sign a big, beautiful stimulus. You saw the other day, go big or go home."....

What a disservice it was to the American people for NBC to eclipse its Trump Townhall over ABC's Biden's Townhall.  The voters should not have been forced to choose what to watch, but be able to have the opportunity to watch both candidates.

More than 100 Hollywood stars and producers – including Ava DuVernay, Billy Porter and Amy Schumer –  signed a letter protesting NBC's decision to schedule Trump’s town hall

And just why in the holy hell does Biden get precedence over Trump? Why the poutrage? Shouldn't Trump and his camp be just as outraged? It was a choose your poison, so to speak, moment. Those who wanted to listen to either one should have been able to. My take is they are pissed because they know some of the left watched Trump just to diss him this morning and they missed Biden for it. Pretty sad they can't take a positive and feel the need to look for gotcha moments. And  there is such a thing as a DVR or even the old VCR that can record. And then the old standby. Wait until the next morning when the MSM tells them what to think.

The NBC event that was supposed to allow people to ask questions was subverted by the radical left - surprise!

Joe Concha counted 43 questions from Guthrie. The number from the audience - 10.

That's what makes the left happy. They are less angry this morning. Less likely to riot.

And thus, the NBC event was the grand inquisition and the ABC event was the picnic.

Of course the Trump Train team will complain about Savannah Guthrie, she made Trump look worse than he usually does.

This townhall was a total trainwreck for the first half hour, with Trump refusing to denounce Q Anon and saying that people can make up their own minds if Biden ordered Seal Team Six assassinated.

The best thing you can say about Trump tonight was that he was more normal once the audience questions began, although still lying.  The first 20 minutes or so was a complete disaster for trump.

  • Trump retweeted a QAnon conspiracy theory this week that bin Laden lives
  • The conspiracy claims that a body double was killed in a botched 2011 raid
  • It suggests the White House covered it up by killing SEAL Team Six and claiming that bin Laden was dead anyway
  • O'Neill is famed for being the man to have shot bin Laden in the mission
  • He said it was 'trampling on the graves of some of the best heroes' for Trump to be pushing the theories

...Social media lit up Thursday night over President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential rival Joe Biden's dueling TV town halls – with posters criticizing the combative performance of Trump moderator NBC's Savannah Guthrie why Biden faced no questions about son Hunter Biden's international business dealings – perhaps the biggest headline of the week.

"A third of the way into the NBC town hall and NO questions from the PEOPLE!!!" White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany exclaimed on Twitter during the event.

Andrew Clark of the Trump campaign tweeted during the first part the president's event that it was a debate between the president and the moderator.

The Federalist's Mollie Hemingway tweeted: "OH MY GOSH SHUT UP!' -- Me, just now, at the top of my lungs after Savannah Guthrie's latest interruption. Am I alone here?"

Ryan Saavedra of the Daily Wire also leveled sharp criticism against Guthrie.

Laura Ingraham of Fox News chimed in as well, accusing Guthrie of engaging in a debate with the president.

Conversely, Rep. Pramila Jayapal of Washington state offered high praise for the moderator, writing that she "deserves a superwoman cape. This is what a real moderator looks like," the Democratic congresswoman noted....

Trump told the truth and remained calm while Biden melted down before softballs.

I could only watch the Biden town hall as the Trump town hall was not broadcast on my local TV. (I cut the cord years ago).

I don't remember seeing Biden melt down. He seemed to me rather level for the entire hour, engaging with the audience. Some of his answers rambled, sometimes he didn't answer questions but instead went off on what I call "politician speech" where a politician instead of answering a question will pivot to a talking point.

He did sound presidential, but then he's been a politician for 47 years. Trump was never a politician and for myself I would much rather have a president who gets things done rather than a president who sounds like people want a president to sound like.

My only real complaint about the town hall was that it never seemed like Biden was ever asked any really hard questions. About the toughest line of questioning came from Stephanopoulos when he pressed Biden about court packing by pushing "don't the people really deserve to know what  you want before they vote for you".  Or when Biden was asked about what he had to offer for young Blacks who see voting for Biden as voting for a system that has failed to protect them and Biden was allowed to go off on all sorts of tangents about criminal justice reform, education and other issues without really answering the question. Biden was allowed to skate on his crime bill. And there were no questions about the Post story despite it being recent news and the only repudiation of the story came from the Biden campaign where they said they cannot find any such meeting in his official calendar. So it really seemed to me that the questions were carefully reviewed to determine what would be allowed to be asked. This just seemed to be like the NBC town hall back in early October where NBC said they had all or mostly independent voters but it later turned out that the majority of them were already Biden supporters.

But he sounded good,  he sounded like  you want a president to sound like. I wish that Trump would tone it down sometimes, but it is what it is.

Gimme a break.  Trump is sweaty, afraid, uninformed and paranoid.  He doesn't know anything factual or grounded in reality.

I will admit that Trump in the NBC Townhall was at a disadvantage because he placed himself in a position to answer questions or concerns from everyday people instead of a one on one with Biden.  However, this does not change the fact that even if you handed Trump a saucer full of marshmallows, which was what this Town Hall was, it was still far beyond his capability to honestly deal with it.

A couple of things. Trump did not condemn Qanon nor did he know much about them except that they don't like pedophles. So, there is that.

"Let me just tell you, they talked about the peaceful transfer, right?" Trump told NBC News' Savannah Guthrie during his town hall debate in Miami on Thursday night. "They spied on my campaign and they got caught, and they spied heavily on my campaign.

I know that Trump is aware that the ''unmasking'' yuge investigation by the DOJ turned up nothing. So when did this spying happen and who caught them. This October surprise turned out to be a dud.

Trump claimed during this townhall that his Covid response saved American lives because estimates were saying 2,000,000 could have died and when Guthrie pointed out that number is if nothing was done, Trump kept doubling down claiming his response was a success. Basically what Donald was claiming is that his response was 'better than nothing'.

Trump campaign slogans:

'Trump! Better than nothing!' (even though the majority definitely disagrees)

'Trump! What have you got to lose?' (our lives, jobs, environment, social cohesion, sanity)

'Trump! The buck never stops here!'

'Trump! White supremacist militias, Stand back and stand by!'

'Trump! If you're a Star, grab some pussy!'

'Trump! Pro-choice, until he needed conservatives votes!'

'Trump! It is what it is!'
