Mosby made $250,000, but claimed she was facing COVID financial hardships.

A federal grand jury in Maryland has indicted Marilyn Mosby, the state's attorney for Baltimore City, on two counts of perjury and making false statements on mortgage applications that she allegedly used toward the purchase of two vacation properties in Florida, according to a case unsealed Thursday.

Mosby gained national prominence after filing charges against the six officers who arrested 25-year-old Freddie Gray in 2015. His death while in police custody led to several days of protests and at times violent unrest in Baltimore. None of the officers were eventually convicted on the charges.

The indictment alleges Mosby lied on federal loan applications, including one where she asserted she experienced "adverse financial consequences" in her position as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, while prosecutors say her gross salary of nearly $250,000 was never reduced in 2020. In fact, the indictment says Mosby's gross salary increased by nearly $10,000 between 2019 and 2020.

As a result of her relief application, Mosby received $36,000, which she used "toward a down payment for a vacation home in Kissimmee Florida" that she purchased in September 2020.

The indictment accuses Mosby of making false statements on applications for a mortgages of nearly $500,000 for the Kissimmee, Florida, home and a nearly $430,000 mortgage for a condominium in Long Boat Key, Florida.

If convicted of the charges, the U.S. Attorney's Office in Maryland said Mosby faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison for each of the two counts of perjury and a maximum of 30 years for each of the two counts of making false mortgage applications, though actual sentences for such crimes are typically less than the maximum penalties.

Mosby has not entered a plea to any of the charges and has not had her initial appearance scheduled as of Thursday evening.

A spokesperson for Mosby did not immediately respond to a request for comment Thursday evening.

Makes all that money but STILL feels the need for fraud. WTF is wrong with some people?

That is pretty much a rhetorical question..............

all that money

Mister, you just don't understand the value of Florida real estate. It's the only place the left can frolic freely without catching covid. Ripple riders and 'rona runners.

Federal prosecutors began investigating the notorious anti-cop state’s attorney and her husband, Nick Mosby, who is president of the Baltimore City Council, after the Baltimore  inspector general  released a report in February of 2021 that brought into question the state’s attorney’s travel, personal businesses, and gifts, The Washington Post reported.

Finally we'll see her where she belongs!

In June of 2020, Marilyn Mosby dismissed more than  600 pending criminal cases  and announced that her office would no longer be prosecuting many misdemeanors.

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan recently called the Baltimore state’s attorney a “big part of the problem” with skyrocketing violent crime in that city, The Washington Post reported.

“We have a prosecutor in Baltimore City who refuses to prosecute violent criminals and that’s at the root of the problem,” Hogan said.

Scum as DA's in the era of the left. One down and many more to go.

I seriously hope that scumbag poor excuse for a elected official is tried, convicted, and if found guilty, locked up for a few years, but her good bud Kamala Harris will probably arrange for a get out of jail free card and she'll walk.

I’m thinking she won’t do any jail time either. That’s just for us peons. She might end up with a new ankle bracelet that she has to sport for a bit.

I’m thinking she’s going to claim that she only got a 1% raise when she was expecting at least 3%, which was an adverse financial consequence.  No sympathy here. Go to your prison cell for a few years and think about what you did.

But sister, how can she possibly be expected to squeak by on a meager $250,000 salary, supplemented by whatever her husband is making?  The struggle is real!

Ms. Mosby’s claims to be committed to fair and equal justice. I wonder if she ever thought it would be her in the hot seat.

CARES Act Fraud Tracker | Arnold & Porter (arnoldporter.com)

The attached spread sheets through August of 2021 represent amounts as high as $14,000,000 in people trying to scam

the CARES ACT. They represent black, white, LAtinos, Christians, Muslims, citizens and non citizen

jerks that tried to defraud the government by taking advantage of the pandemic.

They represent the breadth of the political scale but you won't find that in a report of government supplied information.

The optimist in me recognizes that the Mosby's together or just Marilyn thought she was immune

to being a high quality target; Black female Democrat DA.

Cop hater ?  get the fuck over yourselves, she did what any DA should have per Grey's death.

Now indicted she will have her day in court like the rest of the idiots on the attached list.

She will pay back the money, and maybe cut a deal to resign but keep her suspended law license.

In a few years she will run for something else and get elected because of Freddy Grey.

Just another partisan hit seed

That being said, I just read that one of the properties in Florida is an 8 bedroom multi floor, multi family rental

that experienced a dramatic lack of rentals during the pandemic.

The second Florida property is also a rental...isn't that the American way?

Makes sense,  Maybe she has a point for her paltry $36,000 loan that might save her two investment properties?

I can only imagine how many millions of people who make far less than $250K (plus perks) wish they had her "financial hardships".

purchase of two vacation properties in Florida

Funny how so many Dems choose Florida as their vacation destinations!

and no doubt she has a home in baltimore too. There’s your problem, lady. So, how is she supposed to afford all this, that she soooooo deserves on a paltry 250k a year? I think she went into the wrong line of work, she should have gone into a leadership position with blm.

One of those Florida homes has 8 bedrooms. She and her husband have only two kids. Why does a family of four need eight bedrooms in a vacation home? I can understand the ultra-rich having lavish things like that, but she's only a state DA.

This isn't Mosby's first rodeo in shady dealings. Read the Controversy and Complaint against media sections in this link:

As expected, Mosby and her lawyer pull that good old race card defense ...

Marilyn Mosby’s lawyer has maintained she’s innocent. A. Scott Bolden has accused federal authorities of pursing the case because of a personal grudge against Mosby, one “rooted in personal, political and racial animus ,” Bolden said.
