That great photo invoked my memories of many times in Cape Cod, to Provincetown at least twice, to Nantucket Island, to getting so drunk in a bar in Hyannis my friend had to almost carry me out, to attending a flea market and coming out with two amazing beautifully framed Maxfield Parrish prints that we hung in our dining room.

Gentlemen! This kind of back-and-forth serves no purpose other than to make our Group appear to have, euphemistically, "gone off the rails." The last thing I want to do in any article posted by our Group is to hit the red flag

So, rather than reprimand or risk escalating I will make deletions and hope this doesn't arise in any way, shape or form, here, or down the road.

I'm not sure even as the author, I have protocol on my side to do so, but I'll risk repercussions.

Work it out gentlemen, I have enough dealing with family health issues to spend time on this. I will leave the article open until tomorrow morning so as not to leave this abruptly.

Editing Skills Challenge

Let's play with our editing skills.  I invite all members to post a plain unedited photo, preferably a mundane one, so that other members can try their hand at editing it to make it a more interesting, more presentable, more creative picture.  With your example photo, please add the words:   "I give my permission to all members to edit this photo and post the edited version as a reply to the Editing Skills Challenge posted above."

Here is an example of what I mean, but t his is not my entry for editing.

Original photo

I now post below my entry for all members to edit.   Copy and paste it to your computer, edit it, then post your finished product as a reply to this article.  I give my permission to all members to edit this photo and post the edited version as a reply to this comment.

800

Now please post YOUR mundane photo entry so I and others can try our skills with it.

Technically, images and other intellectual propertry when used without consent of the copyrights holder, can have potential legal issues. Making what are known as "derivatives' of copyrighted works has similar, potential liability. And because Perrie owns the site, liabilities could be hers!

The very least that should be done when posting intellectual property one does not own, is to post attribution to the source.

The RED BOX RULES ARE ALWAYS POSTED HEREIN

RED BOX RULES:  AN IMPORTANT REMINDER

From time-to-time, I should remind all members of NT, etc., that when posting photos, artwork, etc., it's important, when posting, that you own, and/or legally represent the licensing, copyright, etc., of what you post, and TO PROTECT YOUR WORK, TO INCLUDE YOUR COPYRIGHT SYMBOL/INFORMATION; and/or, WHEN POSTING COPYRIGHTED PROPERTY BELONGING TO PARTIES OTHER THAN YOURSELF, TO …

VERY IMPORTANT … IN THE FUTURE, I WILL REMEMBER TO POST THIS CAVEAT REGULARLY.

Thanks, A. MAC

There are IMAGES ON THE INTERNET THAT ARE PUBLIC DOMAIN and FREE to Use; I suggest, if anyone wants to post images for which they do not hold copyrights, this is the way to go.

Please.

Yes, it has by me, and it should be clear that I've done my best to comply with it and not put up an argument.  Yes, I do copy and post images onto my articles, and I might even post only a part of such images for clarity, but I would not otherwise edit them without permission which is why I asked for permission when I've asked members if they would allow me to enlarge their photos.  For this challenge I asked members to post THEIR photos for editing, and only one member did that, the only one who posted his own photo to allow others to edit - and only 3 provided edits of mine, which is why I now intend to provide my edits for my own photo and not consider posting a photo challenge again for a long time.

It's a black racer and it's non-venomous but we want them around since they keep the rodent population under control.

Oh, and we have very venomous snakes around here, the Timber Rattlesnake is quite dangerous and the coral snake is about as deadly as you can get.

This is the Timber Rattlesnake they will get to around 6 feet long.

512

This is Florida's Phython and the largest captured in Florida was 18 feet.

Non-venomous but if they sink their teeth into you and then proceed to wrap their huge body around you and crush you to death. Every time you exhale they tighter their grip some you will die from suffocation.

512

And this is the little guy but by far he most venomous. They are very small and many times you do not even know that they bite you, soon you'll start getting sick and if you don't make it to the hospital you'll die.

512

Oh my, I almost forgot the biggest snake we have in Florida the Green Anaconda the biggest snake in the world the biggest one ever captured was 33 feet and weighed 800 lbs.

Making progress on the 60g tank. I put the hardscape in on Friday and filled the tank on Saturday and the wood all floated and broke apart. Did it again with similar results on Sunday. Finally the setup above mostly held. The small piece of wood against the right side floated.

AI basically takes the general shapes and colors and creates a new reality from it in various styles that you can choose from, and it does this in seconds.  You can do it as many times as you want until you find something that interests you.  Then I take that image and manually run it through my various standard editing tools in photoshop to really sharpen up the image.  The AI part is done with the Picsart app.

It's been a very out of the ordinary winter this year. Aside from a short period of very cold temps in mid January (when the Chiefs played that freezing game against the Dolphins), it has been abnormally warm, with several record highs being set.

In fact, it's been so regularly and dependably warm that I'm getting ready to start a few things in the garden earlier than I've ever done before.

Anyway, the first crocuses started coming up early in mid February, and now the rest of them are following suit.

original

Hyacinths have started coming up early too.

original

Some jonquil daffodils have also come up and are up and blooming like crazy.

original

Happy spring! Even though it was February just a few days ago, lol.

I can't help but wonder if it's going to be yet another record year for global temps.

We have things in bloom here 12 months of the year.  Our ornamental pear trees were in full bloom, but the rain over the weekend knocked most of the flowers off of the trees.  The lavenders are in bloom as are the Cape-honeysuckle and a few others.  We even had a daffodil come out last week.  Yesterday, I saw the first freesia of the spring and the rhaphiolepis are full of buds waiting to blossom soon.

Same here.  The only ice we have comes out of the ice maker in the refrigerator.  I used to love the heat when I was a kid, but not anymore.  It can be unbearable.

One time I was taking a shuttle van home from the airport after a trip out of town.   Two guys sitting in the back were talking and I heard them say they were from Michigan and Ohio.  As we started going up the hill to my house, one of them said "This would be great for sledding in the winter", and the other one was agreeing with him.  I had to laugh.  I turned around and said "No ice and no snow. Ever."
