CNN’s Jim Acosta Challenges Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Then Makes a Quick Exit

S E E D E D   C O N T E N T

The First Amendment guarantees the free press in this country our president calling it "fake news" and, the enemy of the People is not only wrong, it goes against the Constitution, something Trump has sworn to protect and, defend.

Jim Acosta, the square-jawed CNN correspondent, has stood out among the White House press corps for his impassioned on-air monologues about the importance of the First Amendment.
During a tense White House briefing on Thursday, he challenged the press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, to disavow President Trump’s description of journalists as “the enemy of the people.” Ms. Sanders declined to do so, saying she had been personally attacked in the media and had faced threats since starting her job.
Opinions on the exchange varied.

Many liberals praised Mr. Acosta for confronting Ms. Sanders, particularly after he had faced vitriol from Trump supporters at a Florida rally on Tuesday. Many conservatives knocked Mr. Acosta as a biased showboat. And some of his rival White House reporters rolled their eyes.
Mr. Acosta, a CNN veteran, is used to it.

Since last January, when the president-elect shouted him down at a news conference, Mr. Acosta, 47, has been a featured player in the Trump v. Media battle royale. The president, no fan of CNN, has called Mr. Acosta “a real beauty” and refused to take his questions last month during a session with reporters in Britain.
All that has made Mr. Acosta a ripe target for Mr. Trump’s army of adherents. This week, Sean Hannity of Fox News ran a montage of “Jim Acosta Lowlights” and called him “a liberal partisan hack.” In Florida, Mr. Acosta, who is regularly escorted to rallies by security personnel, faced hostile Trump fans who interrupted his live shot and shouted “fake news.”
That set the stage for Thursday, when Mr. Acosta, breaking from the usual sober style of White House reporters, framed his question to Ms. Sanders as a moral choice.
“It would be a good thing if you were to state right here, at this briefing, that the press — the people who are gathered in this room right now, doing their jobs every day, asking questions of officials like the ones you brought forward earlier — are not the enemy of the people,” Mr. Acosta said in his newscaster’s baritone. “I think we deserve that.”

Ms. Sanders deflected — and then mirrored Mr. Acosta’s tone.
“It’s ironic, Jim,” she said, “that not only you and the media attack the president for his rhetoric, when they frequently lower the level of conversation in this country.”
Ms. Sanders, without much evidence, went on to accuse the news media of using “personal attacks without any content other than to incite anger.” She also cited her experience at this year’s White House Correspondents Association dinner, during which the comedian Michelle Wolf mocked Ms. Sanders’s “smokey eye” makeup and compared her to “an Uncle Tom” for “white women.”
“You brought up a comedian to attack my appearance and call me a traitor to my own gender,” Ms. Sanders said. “As far as I know, I’m the first press secretary in the history of the United States that’s required Secret Service protection.”
Her answer did not directly address the question, so Mr. Acosta tried again, with more oomph.
“This democracy, this country, all the people around the world watching what you are saying, Sarah, and the White House for the United States of America — the president of the United States should not refer to us as ‘the enemy of the people,’” he said. “His own daughter acknowledges that, and all I’m asking you to do, Sarah, is to acknowledge that right now and right here.”
Ms. Sanders replied: “I appreciate your passion. I share it. I’ve addressed this question.”
At that, Mr. Acosta promptly walked out.

She is lower than Donald Trump because she claims she's a Christian.  She has absolutely NO Christian values unless there's power or money associated with it.  History is not going to remember her kindly.

You really want to set out to be the judge of who is or is not a proper Christian? Who are you?

I'm not a Christian but, I grew up in a Christian household, the first lesson that I learned was to follow this to the letter.

The Beatitudes Matthew 5: 3-12 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall possess the earth.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for justice, for they shall be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
Blessed are they who suffer persecution for justice sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

The next thing I learned, sometimes the hard way, was this,

Matthew 7:12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

Then there is always this one,

Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Everything that Jesus told his followers to do seems to have been, "Be more than human when dealing with others and, treat all people the way you would want to be treated, remember, I'm watching you." Because, Jesus did say this towards the end of his ministry,

Matthew 25:31-46 The Sheep and the Goats
31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

And, they all said Amen.

Actually, she reminds me more of these folks.

1Now a man named Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira, also sold a piece of property. 2With his wife’s full knowledge, he kept back some of the proceeds for himself, but brought a portion and laid it at the apostles’ feet. 3Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and withhold some of the proceeds from the land?…

Jesus even answered that one for those who think this way my friend,

Already this is a bit confusing, given the standard interpretation. If the “hot” people are those who are “on fire” for the Lord, then the “cold” people must be… atheists? Flagrant sinners? Crooked politicians? Richard Dawkins and his merry band of infidels? Could be, but then why does Jesus say “I wish you were cold or hot” like they’re both equally good? Surely He doesn’t consider it the same to be on fire for Him and stone-cold against Him?
16 ‘So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.
That bit we know. Jesus doesn’t like lukewarm beverages. He spits them out. Insipidity, something that’s the same temperature as the room, doesn’t do it for Him.
That’s obviously a metaphor for something (unless you’re a hyper-literalist and think that Jesus drinks people). Yet there’s no mention of the behaviors we’re often told are “worldly.” Is Jesus speaking in riddles, or will He explain what He means? What’s the difference between “hot” and “cold”? What makes a person “lukewarm”?
The next verse tells us. Specifically. It even starts with “Because” so we won’t miss that it’s connected. Here’s why Jesus gets nauseated by “lukewarm” believers:
17 ‘Because you say, “I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked…

It's a good read.

Thank you for admitting it!
And here it is for all to see:

President Donald Trump on Thursday said only "Fake News," not the entire media but a "large percentage" of it, qualifies as an "enemy of the American people."

"They asked my daughter Ivanka whether or not the media is the enemy of the people. She correctly said no. It is the FAKE NEWS, which is a large percentage of the media, that is the enemy of the people!" he tweeted.

The president was referencing  comments made by his eldest daughter  , Ivanka, during an event hosted by the news website Axios earlier in the day.

Trump has referred to some of the most prominent media outlets as "Fake News" at one point or another, including NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, The New York Times, and The Washington Post.

Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Freedom of the press is one of our most important freedoms and also one of our oldest. In the form of the First Amendment it is permanently embedded in our Constitution, but its roots go back to colonial America and indeed to the traditional laws and customs of England.
Two hundred and fifty years ago, on August 4, 1735, one of the landmark events of American legal history occurred when a court exonerated the newspaper publisher John Peter Zenger, who had been accused of sedition because of his zeal in uncovering official corruption. Since then, his case has become a symbol of our Nation's continuing commitment to maintaining freedom of the press. Ronald Reagan

Most presidents don't like the press but, this president has taken it to a new level, his followers are threatening journalists the more he uses his "fake news" meme. Just because he or, you don't like what is being said about him doesn't make it fake or, a lie.

'Enemy of the people': Sanders refuses to disavow Trump's claim about media

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has refused to back away from US president Donald Trump’s assertions that the media is the “enemy” of the American people.

In a heated exchange with reporters during a White House briefing, Sanders said Trump “has made his position known”. She repeatedly declined to give her own opinion on the subject, despite being pressed by reporters to state categorically that she did not agree that the press are the enemy.

Instead, Sanders recited a litany of complaints against the press and blamed the media for inflaming tensions in the country.

“As far as I know, I’m the first press secretary in the history of the United States that’s required secret service protection,” she said, accusing the media of continuing “to ratchet up the verbal assault against the president and everyone in this administration.”

CNN’s Jim Acosta, who has become a lightning rod for anti-media sentiment and was loudly heckled during a Trump rally in Florida on Tuesday night, implored Sanders to break from the president, who first decried the press as the “enemy of the American people” last year.

"I think it would be a good thing if you were to say right here at this briefing that the press, the people who are gathered in this room right now ... are not the enemy of the people,” Acosta said, adding: “All the people around the world are watching what you’re saying.”

Sanders, appearing to read from prepared remarks, responded with a critique of the press for resorting “to personal attacks without any content other than to incite anger.”

“The media has attacked me personally on a number of occasions, including your own network, CNN ,” she told Acosta. She also cited the comedian who performed at the annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, saying the comic was brought in “to attack my appearance and call me a traitor to my own gender.”

When pushed by Acosta to state that she did not share the president’s view that the press were the enemy of the people and he should not refer to them as such, she said: “I appreciate your passion, I share it. I’ve addressed this question, I’ve addressed my personal feelings, I’m here to speak on behalf of the president, he’s made his comments clear.”

Screenshot_25.png Image is clickable

Acosta walked out of the briefing in protest and later tweeted he had done so because he was “totally saddened by what just happened”, calling Sanders’ refusal to say that the press was not the enemy “shameful”. Another reporter quickly filled his seat.

Other reporters later shared their disappointment at Sanders’ response. Chuck Todd, NBC News’ political director tweeted that her response “only hurts her own credibility”.

Screenshot_26.png Image is clickable

The exchange came hours after the president’s eldest daughter and adviser, Ivanka Trump, broke with her father at an event hosted by Axios, and said that she does not view the news media as “the enemy of the people.”

“I’ve certainly received my fair share of reporting on me personally that I know not to be fully accurate. So ... I have some sensitivity around why people have concerns and gripe, especially when they sort of feel targeted. But no, I do not feel that the media is the enemy of the people,” Ivanka Trump said.

The president tried to minimise the divide in a tweet later Thursday, saying she was “correct” to say the media was not the enemy of the people, clarifying it is “the fake news, which is a large percentage of the media, that is the enemy of the people”.

Screenshot_27.png Image is clickable

The president regularly lashes out at news outlets and individual reporters, accusing them of spreading “fake news” his term for stories he dislikes.

The tensions have been especially acute at Trump’s rallies, where his supporters often jeer at, curse and harass reporters working in a closed-off media pen.

A Politico reporter responded to one such scene at Tuesday’s rally in Florida with tweets calling the hecklers “garbage people” with missing teeth.

Marc Caputo, who covers Florida, deleted his tweets and apologised Wednesday for his “caustic remarks.”

“In the age of social media, where divisiveness serves no decent purpose, these flippant comments on my part only made things worse and contributed to a cycle of rage that I should not have inflamed further. So I’m sorry,” he wrote.

Since when is it acceptable for a reporter to try to shout down the press secretary during a briefing while answering the question you tendered?

Simple answer here.  It's not acceptable.  He should have his credentials revoked-he is a reporter, not the story.

Yeah, he went to a rally where there were already a bunch of people in rally mode and they heckled him and his sad network. That's supposed to be terrible. But when Sarah Sanders and her family are getting harassed while out for a meal and chased from one restaurant to another, that's not such a big deal. That doesn't warrant the extensive coverage or the hand-wringing and pearl-clutching.

“The media has attacked me personally on a number of occasions, including your own network, CNN ,”

But no apology from Acosta. No disavowal of any unfair treatment she has received from his network.

When pushed by Acosta to state that she did not share the president’s view

He likes to forget that the people in that room are not there to cover Sarah Sanders. She's there to dispense information, not to be the story.

Acosta walked out of the briefing in protest and later tweeted he had done so because he was “totally saddened by what just happened”

Self promoting drama queen. Dear Jim, no one gives a crap what "saddens" you.

Yeah, he went to a rally where there were already a bunch of people in rally mode and they heckled him and his sad network. That's supposed to be terrible.

When the press has to attend a rally and, needs Secret Service protection or, personal body guards provided by their bosses then yes, it is a terrible thing.

But when Sarah Sanders and her family are getting harassed while out for a meal and chased from one restaurant to another, that's not such a big deal.

That would seem to be a personal choice on her part, she could chose to tell the truth when giving a press briefing. I bet if she did, she would be "harassed" any more.

That doesn't warrant the extensive coverage or the hand-wringing and pearl-clutching.

It does if the people who are harassing the media are threatening them with bodily harm for doing their jobs.

“The media has attacked me personally on a number of occasions, including your own network, CNN ,”

Only one word for this, BULLSHIT.

But no apology from Acosta. No disavowal of any unfair treatment she has received from his network.

Because she hasn't received "unfair treatment" from the press, you lie to the press and, get caught doing it, expect them to call you on it.

When pushed by Acosta to state that she did not share the president’s view

So, what was being said there without actually being said is, she believes that the press is the enemy of the people or, at least the enemy of this lying administration.

He likes to forget that the people in that room are not there to cover Sarah Sanders. She's there to dispense information, not to be the story.

Then she should be willing to tell the truth when she is dispensing the "information".

Seriously? I don't even have to argue her honestly level with you. It's not a thing - moral or legal - in America that we harass people over their honesty. Why doesn't it happen to Democrats? It seriously your contention that Democrats never lie? What a joke!

Only one word for this, BULLSHIT.

Says you! But who are you and what do you know? Nothing. She was talking directly to the reporter from the network she was accusing and he didn't deny it. That guy will argue any point but he wasn't going to argue that. And a whole room full of adversarial fact-checkers accepted it as true because they know it is.

So, what was being said there without actually being said is, she believes that the press is the enemy of the people or, at least the enemy of this lying administration.

What an obtuse interpretation. You just don't get it, do you. It's called a loaded question. She CAN'T respond to it the way he wants her to. You don't get why, though.

His question implies an interpretation of Trump's comment that neither Trump nor Sanders would agree with. The proper context is that Trump has repeatedly said he likes the news media but not when he thinks they are being fake or advancing their own political agenda. It's just dishonest to insist on quoting a phrase while ignoring the context.

Answering in the affirmative or the negative would have required Sanders to ignore context and also to let him set the agenda. No competent press secretary is ever going to do that.

Allow me to demonstrate. Answer yes or no: Have you stopped beating your wife?

Show you video? Are you trolling me? Why must there be video? The owner admits she kicked Sanders and her party out of the restaurant.

The owner of the Red Hen explains why she asked Sarah Huckabee Sanders to leave

Several news outlets also reported that the owner and possibly others followed them to a second restaurant, but I don't know how true that is and I haven't seen the owner admit it. On the other hand, I don't think I have seen her dispute it either. If we hold her to the same standard you and Acosta want to hold Sanders to, maybe we should accept it as true.

So because she was asked to leave that is harassment?

Yeah. It's exactly the kind of harassment that Maxine Waters called for. i.e., To go out of your way to tell people they aren't welcome and make them so uncomfortable, they leave.

ha·rass·ment
həˈrasmənt,ˈherəsmənt/
noun
1. aggressive pressure or intimidation.
"the state also grants us the right to pursue this belief without any form of persecution or harassment"
synonyms: persecution, intimidation, pressure, force, coercion

Seems pretty straight forward. The Sanders party wasn't bothering anyone. They were quietly dining. The owner wasn't even in the restaurant. When she found out Sanders was in the restaurant, she actually got in her car and drove to the restaurant to give her the boot after the restaurant employees had already started serving her. She was persecuted for politics and intimidated and pressured into leaving. Sounds like harassment as defined above.

No, she is the press secretary to the President of the United States and, when that president says that the press is "the enemy of the people" then she should tell the truth and, say that they are not the enemy and, the president should be forced to come out and, admit he was totally wrong.

First, he wants her to say the thing he wants her to say and makes out like that's all he wants.

What, you can't admit that your hero, Trump, has said on more than one occasion that the "press is the enemy of the people"? Say it, I know you want to.

But then he'll want her to say something else.

Sure, it's his job to get information from the press secretary and, it is her job to give that information.

And every day it will be a new thing.

Of course it will, that's the thing about the news, it wouldn't be the news if it was the same old thing.

He doesn't get to dictate to her what she should say and when she should say it. He's an asshole and a bully.

Why not? She works for the American people and, he's one of them, whether you want to believe it or, not.

Actually it's really easy because in many cases they donate money to candidates and that kind of thing is a matter of public record when it's over $200.

Journalists shower Hillary Clinton with campaign cash

This study reveals that of almost $400,000 donated to 2016 presidential campaigns, some 96% of that money went to Hillary Clinton. 430 journalists donated to Clinton. About 50 donated to Trump.

The media brought this on themselves as well as the country. The Trump campaign was bizarre and unusual, they pointed cameras at Trump everywhere he went and they broadcast every second live.

In the past, real journalists would examine the events of the day and present a summary of the really significant stuff to the audience. But in 2016, thanks to the 24 hour news cycle and a thirst for ratings, CNN and their colleagues kept the Trump Live-cam on 24/7/365 just in case he said something shocking. Consequently, even though there were 16 other Republicans running, America barely had any idea who they were.

Absolutely no one else in either party got the kind of free air time that Trump got.

They should report the news. That's what I'm saying. Pointing a camera at Trump for hours at a time is not news.

He told the media he was going to make an important announcement. So they all showed up to hear the announcement and ran the event live. It turns out he was opening his new hotel in D.C. He spent the better part of an hour making a big show of being friends with lots of military people. It was great optics for Trump, but no big announcement. Tons and tons of free TV time. Nothing "news" about it. This went on throughout 2016.

Every time Trump made a speech, the whole thing was shown live on cable news. Were other candidates making speeches? Of course, but you'd never have known it.

Victim blaming, just don't fly here.

Victim? The press is a victim? Face Palm

I can tell you that's not Trump's definition nor is it the definition of anyone who uses the term. But if you insist that it's not fake unless it's 100% false, then we can go to Politifact and get all those "Mostly False" ratings for Trump turned into "True" right?

Pizzagate...the creation of alex jones. THAT'S fake news.

First of all, it wasn't his creation. He spread it, for sure, but he didn't create it. Are you fake news now? It's 100% wrong that Jones created the story.

On the other hand, Jones was not 100% wrong on the story. The Pizza place is where he says it is, so maybe it was just a mistake, huh? Maybe he's not fake news after all.

My point is let's not be so pedantic about it. Fake News as it's being used these days is a spectrum. It's not a hard line where truth lives on one side and lies live on the other.

The media needs to stop their agenda driven reportig if they dont want to be called on it.

LOL, isn't that like blaming Sarah Palin for the attacks on Democratic HQ's before the 2012 election? What did you folks say about that? Oh yeah, she isn't responsible for it, well, the media isn't responsible for the attacks on stupid people like Trump supporters, maybe, Trump and, his supporters should take a long look in the mirror.

That response is why I refuse to consider the lefts opinion on It anymore.  The media along with the left have demonized and made it acceptable to attack people who don't share the same beliefs.  People have been attacked because of the rhetoric from the left and the media.  And the left shrugs it off.  Well when someone attacks a journalist I'm going to have the same response I've heard from left wing people regarding attacks.  "They shouldn't have antagonized them.  Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from consequences."  When a journalist is attacked I guess that will just be a consequence of their rhetoric

So, you would find it alright for journalists to be attacked for doing their jobs, here's a little history turned current news for ya,

GERMANS are usually proud of their exports, including their words. What better term than Fahrvergnügen (“driving pleasure”) to sell cars? They are less pleased when foreigners import words that hark back to Germany’s darkest chapter. It was therefore horrifying to see white nationalists at a rally in Washington, shortly after Donald Trump’s victory, saluting with outstretched arms and shouting “Hail victory!”—a conscious echo of the Nazi greeting, Sieg Heil! It has also been disconcerting to hear Mr Trump’s supporters adopt the term Lügenpresse to refer to the mainstream media, or to any journalists who criticise the president-elect. For in America as in Germany, the term, which means “lying press”, is used not only as a cudgel against allegedly out-of-touch media elites but also to validate whatever conspiracy theory the shouter espouses.

By the way, another way to say this is "Fake News", sound familiar?

Again.  If they don't want to be called fake news maybe they should stop pumping out fake news with an obvious agenda?  Freedom of the press doesn't mean freedom from being called out for being fake news.  Like when they posted a cropped picture of trump dumping fish food into a pond for some BS story about him killing the fish?  Or how about the ground breaking journalism of trump putting ketchup on steak?

Anytime some despot wants to get rid of unfavorable press coverage they shout Fake News or, Lying Press, to hush up the news reports and, to turn the people against the news about them, that is the point here Silent. Every president all the way back to Washington hasn't liked the press, Trump is the only one to come out and, call them the "enemy of the people", that is hyperbole and, you know it, if it wasn't for the press we wouldn't have found out about the Nixon/Watergate connection or, Iran/Contra or, yes, Clinton/Lewinski. What Trump is doing is wrong and, we shouldn't, as Americans, stand for it.

Like when they posted a cropped picture of trump dumping fish food into a pond for some BS story about him killing the fish?

Never saw that, it must have been on an internet site, I don't look at the stories on them.

Or how about the ground breaking journalism of trump putting ketchup on steak?

I thought that was funny, really, I've done that to very flavorless steaks myself, it didn't effect the way I think about him, to me it just showed he was human and, not as stuck up as some rich people are.

Again silent, if Trump is innocent and, there's nothing for him to hide, why is he so bent on discrediting the Mueller investigation and, the media? If he's innocent he should let it play out, if there's nothing to find he should let it play out but, he doesn't, that makes me think that maybe, just maybe, there is something there.

I'll freely admit their COULD be something to the investigation.  It would be asinine to believe one way or the other from our position.  If there is something there then something needs to be done. I just don't think there is anything there.  If there was two years almost in... it would have been out by now imo.  There could be though as I said.

That could be why trump is pissed about it.  It could also be he is pissed because he knows nothing is there and it's just being done to obstruct him.

Again.  Not saying there absolutely isn't anything there.  I don't know.

I agree it has been used by despots.  However there are too many examples of the news intentionally lying and editing to make trump look bad.  The fake news moniker isn't completely unearned.

This was the fish food story.  Who they initially tried to spin it as they were feeding the fish by spoonfools and trump being an idiot just dumped all the food in endangering the fish.  What they didn't show was Abe dumped his out first and trump followed suit.  They were called on it and corrected it. They intentionally did a hit piece out of bias.  Fake news.

Along with intentional spinning of facts to push an agenda

It took a year to find out that anything was wrong when Nixon was president, then it took another two years before there was enough for articles of impeachment to be drawn up on him and, that was without Congress trying to hinder the investigation and, one of them taking information to the White House to share with the president. Iran/Contra took six years to investigate. I know it's frustrating but, you have to have patience with these things, I'm sure Mueller will let us know when he's ready to do so but, he won't let anything leak in the mean time, if he can help it.

That could be why trump is pissed about it.

Ya think? He's a control freak, he has to control the message and, Mueller is hiding the information from him and, he can't stand it.

It could also be he is pissed because he knows nothing is there and it's just being done to obstruct him.

Obstruct him how?

Right here you dispute your own narrative, CNN according to you retracted the story so, it isn't "Fake News" anymore, if you continue to talk about it then it never dies.

The other two stories looks like something that happened under Obama and, in Trumps early days as POTUS, the Obama story's can end up making money for the U.S. while the Trump story falls back to his tax cuts which take away revenue and, add to the deficit and, then on top of that Trump adds more to U.S. spending which of course adds to the deficit.

Obstruct was the wrong word.  Burden him would be better.  Having to spend too much time dealing with that and not working on stuff he wants.  Along with politicians holding out on working with him hoping something is there and he will be gone. I agree you have to have patience on these things.  But with Nixon it was 6 months or so before people were charged.  Nixon himself took longer.  It's been two years and all we really have now is manafort for stuff that happened years ago and it's lookin like he may get off.

IF mueller ends this and nothing comes of it with trump.  I'm calling it now that many on the left will say mueller is just protecting the seat of the presidency.  People will not accept there was nothing there after they have been ensured by the media he will be gone.

Really, all we really have is Manafort? Are you sure?

The full list of known indictments and plea deals in Mueller’s probe
1) George Papadopoulos, former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser, pleaded guilty in October to making false statements to the FBI.
2) Michael Flynn, Trump’s former national security adviser, pleaded guilty in December to making false statements to the FBI.

3) Paul Manafort, Trump’s former campaign chair, was indicted in October in Washington, DC on charges of conspiracy, money laundering, and false statements — all related to his work for Ukrainian politicians before he joined the Trump campaign. He’s pleaded not guilty on all counts. Then, in February, Mueller filed a new case against him in Virginia, with tax, financial, and bank fraud charges.
4) Rick Gates, a former Trump campaign aide and Manafort’s longtime junior business partner, was indicted on similar charges to Manafort. But in February he agreed to a plea deal with Mueller’s team, pleading guilty to just one false statements charge and one conspiracy charge.
5-20) 13 Russian nationals and three Russian companies were indicted on conspiracy charges, with some also being accused of identity theft. The charges related to a Russian propaganda effort designed to interfere with the 2016 campaign. The companies involved are the Internet Research Agency, often described as a “Russian troll farm,” and two other companies that helped finance it. The Russian nationals indicted include 12 of the agency’s employees and its alleged financier, Yevgeny Prigozhin.

21) Richard Pinedo: This California man pleaded guilty to an identity theft charge in connection with the Russian indictments, and has agreed to cooperate with Mueller.
22) Alex van der Zwaan: This London lawyer pleaded guilty to making false statements to the FBI about his contacts with Rick Gates and another unnamed person based in Ukraine.
23) Konstantin Kilimnik: This longtime business associate of Manafort and Gates, who’s currently based in Russia, was charged alongside Manafort with attempting to obstruct justice by tampering with witnesses in Manafort’s pending case this year.
24-35) 12 Russian GRU officers: These officers of Russia’s military intelligence service were charged with crimes related to the hacking and leaking of leading Democrats’ emails in 2016.

Oops, seems there's a little bit more there, there.

It's called being responsible, something Trumps favorite "news" network can't say with a straight face.

Just because they corrected it doesn't change the fact they initially intentionally misled the public on it.

You don't know that they "initially intentionally misled", that is an assumption on your part and, Trumps. Stop drinking Trumps Koolaid.

They look for any way to try to do a hit piece.

Again, you don't know this, I could say the same about FAUX Noise. We do know that Alex Jones and, Breitbart lie all the time though.

Along with things like when they were caught feeding questions and answers to "focus groups".  If you manufacture public responses and questions under the guise of "unbiased panels"... that again. Is fake news at best.  Propaganda at worst

I've just looked for anything on CNN "feeding focus groups" the answers and, what I got was a bunch of Right Wing sites with the story, not one reputable news source carried the story. That to me, makes the story you believe real fake news.

lamo.. ok

and yes.  I do know their initial intention.

they had the entire video of the fish food incident.  They intentionally zoomed in on just Trump and cut any footage that showed Abe dumping the food before trump.

there is no way to spin it.  They intentionally mislead the public by editing footage.  They were there for the entire incident and still edited the footage to fiththeornbias.  Tha The is the definition of fake news.  But because they slamtnleft you are ok with it.  Perhaps you should watch 1984 again and do some self reflection?

"It's not lies if they correct it when called on it"

Trying to rewrite what I said to fit a different meaning isn't cool. When a media source makes a mistake in their reporting and, then corrects that mistake it is not lying, it is making a mistake. What lying is, is when the president comes out on national television or, in rallies and, says the Mueller investigation is a witch hunt and, his son never met with Russians to get dirt on Hillary and, his national security advisor has no ties to the Russians and, his campaign manager had no ties to Russians and, that no one in his campaign met with any Russians at anytime and, that he is the greatest president ever. We can prove all of this is a lie and, we have more times than I can count.

Makin a mistake is not having all the info and then correcting it.  They had all the info.  They were there.  They recorded the whole thing.  Then they intentionally edited the tape to show something that wasn't true and they knew wasn't true.  That is lying and fake news.  Not sure how you can spin that.

If I video tape you and someone tries to swing on you and you finally defend yourself and hit the person.  Is it lying if I only show the part where you hit the person and write a story saying you assaulted he person.  Did I make a mistake?  Or did I intentionally slant the story even though I had all the information?

When you have all the info and don't report it all but  cherry pick.  That is fake news
