The Biden administration is quickly proving to be one of the most authoritarian and dangerous administrations in modern history.
On Tuesday, President Joe Biden announced that he was launching a coronavirus vaccination campaign where American citizens would be visited by strangers to urge them to take the COVID-19 vaccine.
“Now we need to go community by community, neighborhood by neighborhood and often times door-to-door- literally knocking on doors, to get help to the remaining people protected from the virus,” Biden said.
The announcement was met with fierce backlash considering the vaccination campaign seems like something that would happen under a Communist regime.
Instead of walking back on their door-to-door vaccination campaign, the Biden administration is doubling down.
During an interview with CNN on Thursday, Biden’s Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra asserted that it is “absolutely the government’s business” to know which American citizens are vaccinated or not.

His comments were made in response to the host’s reading of a tweet by Republican Representative Andy Biggs, who wrote that the government should not survey the population and be privy to know who is and who is not inoculated.
Biggs and other Republican lawmakers’ criticisms came after White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said during a recent press briefing that the Biden administration might resort to “knocking on doors” to pressure those who have abstained from vaccination to receive the shot. The administration, confronting a missed vaccination goal to get 70% of adults vaccinated by the Fourth of July, has been getting innovative with strategies and incentives to persuade the hesitant, especially young adults, of the vaccine’s merits.
Becerra offered that the massive government-incurred cost of managing COVID and the subsequent economic crisis justifies keeping tabs on which citizens have been vaccinated.
“The federal government has spent trillions of dollars to keep Americans alive during this pandemic, so it is absolutely the government’s business, it is taxpayer’s business if we have to keep trying to spend money to keep people from contracting COVID and helping reopen the economy,” Becerra said.
“It is our business to make sure Americans can prosper, freely associate, and knocking on the door has never been against the law. You don’t have to answer, but we hope you do so we can help dispel some of those rumors that you’ve heard and hopefully get you vaccinated,” Becerra continued.

He was then asked if he is a supporter of government vaccine requirements.
“The president has demonstrated that he is open to moving in any direction we can to help Americans get safe, feel safe,” Becerra said. “We’ll continue to provide Americans access. We’re gonna go where you are, so you can get vaccinated.”

I wonder how many of us who have received the vaccination are already on a government role for this. I got my two shots thru a state run site, went online to a state managed URL to make the appointment for my first shot and had to provide name/address and they verified my appointment info when I got the shot. So IMO the uproar about knowing who has or has not gotten their shot is meaningless. Wording was poor but I suspect the government already has this info.
And even sending around door knockers isn't a big concern to me personally. So long as the government is not using this information to shame people, or to force them to get the immunizations, then to me this is a big nothingburger.
I do wish that everybody who was eligible would get the vaccine, but I'm not about to force anybody to do so. And the second the government uses this information in an attempt to shame anybody or treat them as a second-class citizen I'll be right at the front of the line to protest the government overreach.
I went through a private non profit hospital to get my two doses at the facility they set up for it away from their hospital. They coordinated with our local county health office. Up here all of our vaccines were done through a local drug store or non profit private agencies. We trust the drug stores and the non profit and for profit hospitals we have more than government to do this.
You would serve your fellow Americans far better with seeds as to why they should get vaccinated rather than this ranting Big Bro nonsense which does nothing more than to chase them under the fear blanket. People who have no medical reason not to be vaccinated are the ones to be feared.

Seriously, why should they say no? Why should the rest of us be ok with that? A minuscule percentage of people might have a legitimate medical reason to not get vaccinated. If only those few people weren’t vaccinated, it would be fine. We would have more than enough vaccinated people to stop the virus.
But that’s not what’s happening. Millions of people are being insane babies about getting vaccinated and needlessly imperiling the lives of other people.
That kind of thing should be publicly shamed.

I wear a t-shirt that proclaims my vaccination.
I wear it hoping it will encourage others.

I have dozens of left over lanyards from the Cotton Bowls ( they do a different color every year )
So I got the right size protector to use with my Vaccination card and for the flip side I combined my business card with my drivers licence
So I wear it when I go shopping with the vaccination card facing out
or flip it over as ID for appointments with clients and have proof of vaccination should they ask.

Agreed. Mine is in my purse, because it doesn't really fit in my wallet, even outside of the credit card slots, at least not so that it won't get torn when I zip/unzip my wallet. But floating around in my purse is just pretty much asking for it to fall out of my purse in the car and get lost under a seat.

I just took a picture of it on my cell phone and put it on the cloud and never carry the paper one anywhere. I say I’ve been vaccinated only if I have to to avoid wearing a mask somewhere living in Ca if I leave my part of it and expect them to take my word for it. I haven’t had to dig it out of my photos yet.
The second shot was at the same county location but administered by the military, reserves and national guard,
Air Force and Navy medical teams doing the injections. It was part of the process.
They made you photo both sides with your phone before you could go to the waiting area.
Mine was done by the military too. A drive through at a convention center.
A friend in Georgetown TX was waiting and waiting for the County, when he and his wife went down I35 to go shopping
and there was a military run drive through in a shopping center parking lot.
Took ten minutes to get the shot and card, then waited 15 minutes in a holding area. Very efficient.

Just because the government is trying its best to get the most Americans vaccinated is not in any way authoritarianism. Just because they are making it as easy as possible to get vaccinated is not authoritarianism. Just because they want to know how many Americans are vaccinated is not authoritarianism. The government should not be aware of our personal privacy matters. There’s the 4th amendment for that. Other than our name, age, social security number, income tax info, and address the government should know nothing about us beyond what we voluntarily share with them. After all we are citizens not subjects, and they are our public servants, we aren’t theirs!
Your vision of what America is, was, and should be are not remotely the same. The federal government is already way to big and powerful compared to the founders intent and we need to stop it from getting even bigger.

If a person has a strong reason - a real reason - to not be vaccinated, then by all means, let’s hear it and maybe we can either find alternatives or make allowances. But “muh privacy!” is not a good reason.

If we allow government too much power due to a crisis it will prolong that crisis as long as possible and then if it can do so no longer it is quick to create a new crisis out of whole cloth if necessary in order to hold on to those new powers. We have a deadly disease going on and it’s mutating rapidly into more contagious forms. It has already killed millions of people in just over a year. We have really bitchin vaccines that do a great job of controlling the spread of that disease, but they work best if most or all of the population is vaccinated.

How about the preceding regime? Trump encouraged the development of this vaccine and its distribution. He was proud of it and rightly took some credit for it. Do you imagine he was trying to seize power unconstitutionally? Of course not! He was trying to save lives. The resistance to the vaccine is one of the most irrational reactions I have ever seen.
We used to celebrate the Greatest Generation because they worked together in common purpose through Depression and World War. They sacrificed for all of us. Now that has all gone by the wayside in favor of selfish madness and an insanity that is somehow able to equate life-saving vaccines with Nazis or Communists.
The virus spreads and it’s getting better at it every day. The vaccine can stop it, but only if enough people get it. We should all be encouraging each other to get vaccinated instead of panicking people about government overreach that isn’t even happening.
When has the federal government ever knocked on anyone’s door at midnight? And even if they did, so what? Does something special happen at midnight versus three in the afternoon? You’re just using fear language to no purpose. There is nothing evil to be feared here. You should be glad the president or anyone else wants to do something to increase vaccinations.

My point is limited to the fact that he signed off on Operation Warp Speed to subsidize vaccine development. He then bragged about it ad nauseam while vaccines were being developed and after they were approved. Trump was like “the vaccine president.”
It therefore strikes me as the most bizarre aspect of all this that people who are fans of Trump would then refuse to get the vaccine he was so proud to have a part in. Logically, Trump supporters should be the group most enthusiastic about the vaccine and yet they seem to be the most afraid of it. It makes no sense.
I think they lost faith in it the moment Biden became President and started taking credit for it as if it was his initiative instead.
The midnight knock at the door is something that is greatly feared in authoritarian totalitarian regimes. The concern is that Biden/Pelosi/Schumer are taking us in that direction.
Actually, I did get measles. I was a baby, too young to be vaccinated. I was around a friend of my parents, who was unvaccinated, and hadn't had measles as a child. A few days after he visited with us, he came down with measles, and then so did I.
Because measles was already becoming uncommon (thanks, vaccines!), the doctor didn't know what I had at first, and I was kept in the hospital nursery with all the other unvaccinated babies. An older doc took a look at me, and told them to get me out of the nursery right now.
As far as I know, no other babies got measles from me, and I had no lasting effects. But it could have been a tragedy, all because I was exposed to an unvaccinated person, and in turn exposed a bunch of other babies to measles.
A vaccinated person should not fear the unvaccinated unless the vaccine does not work to begin with.
I am fully vaccinated and have no fear of the unvaccinated. Instead, I feel sorry for those who are unable to get vaccinated due to the lack of available vaccines. And I feel sorry for those who are so afraid of the vaccines that they will not only risk their own lives, but, those of their children.
Those that preach lies about the vaccines to make people afraid of them will most certainly have to answer to the Creator for the lives that are lost due to their own stupidity and unwarranted fear.

Unvaccinated individuals (unless they have natural immunity due to recovering from COVID) serve as little laboratories wherein the virus can replicate and (worse) mutate.
What happens when the virus mutates into a form on which the vaccine is not effective?

I live in California and work at two schools. If I’m sufficiently recovered from medical issues to be able to return to work in mid August, I as a Pfizer fully vaccinated person will have to mask up according to Ca. guidelines last week.
