a lot of Democrats do support those radical views,” Sen. Cotton responded: “They want to defund the police. They want to turn America into a sanctuary country for all illegal aliens from around the world. And, now, that logic is being extended to our border patrol and Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) – even all of DHS.” Rep. Sen. Cotton is exactly right! I’m glad he said what he did.  The far progressive left position on border issues is pathetic and unsustainable.  Their contempt for America and Americans who want a secure border is well known.

The only people Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and her fellow radical Democrats want to deport and exclude from the U.S. are “Conservatives or Republicans or anyone who voted for Donald Trump,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) said Thursday.

In a Fox News Channel interview, Sen. Cotton was asked to react to Rep. Tlaib’s calls to defund all immigration and border enforcement. Tlaib said that “The new members of Congress are coming with full force and pushing back” against enforcement of U.S. border laws – because it’s inhumane “militarization” against “our immigrant neighbors” and “targeting communities of color.”

“Well, unfortunately, I think she’s right: a lot of Democrats do support those radical views,” Sen. Cotton responded:

“They want to defund the police. They want to turn America into a sanctuary country for all illegal aliens from around the world. And, now, that logic is being extended to our border patrol and Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) – even all of DHS.”

Rep. Tlaib and most Democrats think anyone should be able to come to the U.S. and stay – except Conservatives, Republicans, and Trump voters – Sen. Cotton said:

“It would be interesting to me if Rashida Tlaib would explain exactly who she thinks should be excluded from our country when they show up at our border, irrespective of our laws – or who in America should be deported.
“I don’t know, maybe, her answer would be, ‘Conservatives or Republicans or anyone who voted for Donald Trump last year.’ But, it seems like, beyond that, Rashida Tlaib and most Democrats think that we should have totally open borders and that anyone should be able to come into this country.”

“That is a recipe for disaster,” Sen. Cotton concluded.

Biden, Kamala, and Pelosi in their Marxist toolbox

Clueless idiocy.    Those named individuals are capitalists who seek to use tax dollars (and borrowing) to fund social programs.   They do not seek the end of capitalism;  they want to use capitalism to fund their programs.

Marx sought the end of capitalism and the emergence of a democratic economy controlled collectively by the workers (everyday people who bring forth value from their labor).   That is absolutely NOT what those named individuals seek.

It perpetuates thought nonetheless. It only perpetuates gross ignorance when one looks at it with blinders on due to the fact they may not like what they see. Many here at NT got barraged with cartoons and memes prior to Mr. Biden's election and that was okay.

Perpetuating falsehoods is counterproductive.   If people believe falsehoods then the cartoon perpetuates gross ignorance.   The cartoon is not funny unless someone actually thinks that the D leaders are actually pursuing Marxism (in some form).   The cartoon shores up those false (grossly ignorant) beliefs.

The USA, it seems, continues to dumb itself down.  It is embarrassing (and dangerous).

And you can't possibly know what the D leaders are thinking. Possibilities abound since we are not privy to every conversation behind closed doors or even in the open.

The cartoon shores up those false (grossly ignorant) beliefs.

You must run in a group of people you don't think much of if you think that anyone with at least half a brain cell thinks it is actually going on. And prior to your "proving it" with examples, remember I said with at least half a brain cell.

Nobody knows what anyone is thinking.   We go by what people say and what they do.   Don't play strawman games with me, I never suggested that I knew anyone's private thoughts.

You must run in a group of people you don't think much of if you think that anyone with at least half a brain cell thinks it is actually going on.

What is the 'it' in your vague statement?   Marxism?   If so, do you think the millions of people running around claiming Marxism, socialism, etc. are all just knowingly lying and that they do not actually believe what they are saying?

A man sees what he want to see and disregards the rest.

That is confirmation bias.   It is an unfortunate infliction replete among those who do not engage in critical thinking.

Bullshit.   Don't presume that just because you are a hyper-partisan who would (and does) demonize anyone who is not an R that everyone operates like you.   My comments about Trump have been based on direct observation.   Trump, the individual, is a narcissistic lying sack of shit.   How you cannot see that especially given his continued insistence that he won the 2020 election and they way he routinely tosses his supporters under the bus is a question of psychology.   Regardless of the underlying cognitive reasons, you continue to be wrong about reality and I suspect it is because you trust more than you think.

Thinking should result in a conclusion that Trump spoke words that appeal to the R base.   Trump spoke of conservative policies and indeed acted on some of them.   Trump also nominated conservative justices and judges.   So Trump, if one thinks, said and acted in a way that many R conservatives liked.

But some cannot also see that Trump is an asshole who should never have been granted the honor of serving as PotUS.   That ship has sailed, but the R party (with independents) has an option to find a decent person to lead the R charge who could easily support the exact policies Trump supported.   They were, after all, R policies.   Continuing to cling to Trump as the leader perpetuates his infection of the R party.   It is strategically idiotic to cling to Trump.   That many Rs cannot see that they are damaging their party is remarkable.   It is, IMO, short-sighted and stupid.

I totally agree, TiG. Not all Republicans think and act like the ones here on NT, or like the ones that hog the media limelight. Their circus clown behavior and deliberate lies and misinformation only bring shame to the Republican party. Or maybe I should say Trumps Party. It is the Republican party in name only now that many of the Republicans have ceded themselves and their party to Trump.

Yet, there are true Republicans who still believe in the original Republican party stands for. There are sure to be those who are truly loyal to the Constitution and what America stands for, not just loyal to a person who does nothing but spews lies and demands that he be the center of attention at all times. A person who is loyal to no one but himself.

And it is a shame that they so fear Trump and his vicious armed militias and manic armed supporters that they will not stand up and be counted.

However, that day is not far off, as Trump and his gang will be just a news item of the past that holds no interest.

If Trump runs we will support him.  If he chooses not to then we will move on.  He will announce after the 2022 midterms one way or the other.  In the meantime we will stand by him and his public comments and his support for those seeking office in 2021 and 2022.  Deep down I do believe that last week when he told Sean he’d made up his mind about 2024, it’s that he’s not going to run again.  He’s not going to say so until after the 2022 midterms though to influence policy and the party and to be the voice of the opposition.  That Trump still draws such hate and anger on the left is reason enough to continue to support him.  I’m totally fine going with Noem or Tim Scott or De Santis in 2024.  In the meantime I’m pleased to support Trump to the max anytime anywhere.

and how "christian" of you.

Contempt for a human being is an affront to God almost as grave as idolatry, for while idolatry is disrespect for God Himself, contempt is disrespect for the being He made in His own image. Contempt says of a man, “Raca! This fellow is of no worth. I attach to his person no value whatsoever.” The man guilty of thus appraising a human being is thoroughly bad; and for a number of reasons.

Contempt is an emotion possible only where there is great pride. The error in moral judgment that undervalues another always springs out of the error that overvalues oneself. The contemptuous man esteems himself too highly for reasons that are invalid. His high opinion of himself is not based upon his position as a being made in God’s image; he esteems himself for fancied virtues which he does not possess. He is wrong in his attitude toward himself and doubly wrong in his estimation of his fellow man. The error in his judgment is moral, not intellectual.

another snippet from a decent article.

And we continue to be the church. And we cannot do as the church is be blind or insensitive to people who are hurting due to pride, prejudice, or misinformation. We cannot treat urban African Americans who are seeing family and friends die as invisible. Our priority is to all. Always. Neither can we judge Trump supporters based on what we do not know of their lives.

The world does not need more contempt. It needs more compassionate Christians.

Now is the time to move past our narrow thinking, worldview, and experience, and to step into the shoes of the other, for the sake of the other. We need to listen to all who struggle in this pandemic. And the list of those who struggle is long: Trump supporters who have lost their jobs, urban minorities experiencing injustice, those who suffer from mental illness or abuse, healthcare workers unable to be with their families, children in broken homes, single parents, the homeless, the hungry, the hopeless, the elderly.

So now we can just put words and intent into other people mouths and act as if they said anything?

Should Democrats just say things like "The only people Donald Trump wants to have sex with are underage children" and expect others to just accept that as fact?

I'm not a fan of Tlaib, I think she puts her foot in her own mouth often, but she never said anything about deporting anyone. This was pure fiction created by a weak spineless partisan Republican and yet all the conservatives here act as if it's a concrete fact about Tlaib. Just because she has suggested defunding immigration and border enforcement, which will never pass of course, it's a ridiculous fringe fantasy, she certainly didn't say anything about "deporting Republicans". But I suppose we can't expect anything less from conservatives who often manufacture their own alternate universe to live in with all their favorite straw man left wing villain's.
