When does the COVID-19 panic end?
Our public health “experts” continue to promote more and more outrageous restrictions. This week, National Institutes of Health Director Francis Collins went so far as to recommend that vaccinated parents mask up in their own homes around their own children. There is no limiting principle to this, no end goal. There is only a bureaucratic and political elite unwilling to treat citizens as adults, recognize their own limitations and leave us all the hell alone. And if we accept that, we...

Ben Shapiro in his creators syndicate article is exactly right. We need to stand up for ourselves and not let bi. Coastal urban secular progressive elitists control our lives.  We need no more lockdowns.  We need no mask mandates.  We don’t need to show big brother our papers either.  We have our role models in Governor Abbott and Governor De Santis.  De Santis was exactly right as he ripped Biden a news one and publicly humiliated him as he richly deserved.  We will not be controlled.

S E E D E D   C O N T E N T

Two weeks to slow the spread.

That was the original rationale for the lockdowns, masking and social distancing: Prevent transmission of the coronavirus so that Americans could be assured that we would not overwhelm hospital capacity, causing needless death.

Wait until a vaccine is available.

That was the next goal post: an admonition to continue to take precautions to avoid spreading the coronavirus until a vaccine could be developed. Despite the warnings of COVID-19 pessimists that a vaccine would take years to develop, despite the unjustified alarmism of figures like Vice President Kamala Harris that the Trump administration would skew the vaccine protocols to achieve political ends, vaccines were miraculously developed.

Wait until every adult has a chance to get the vaccine.

That was the final rationale for caution. And as states began to tranche out vaccines by the millions, every person above the age of 12 in the United States was given the opportunity to get vaccinated. As of today, over 90% of adults over the age of 65 — the most at-risk population in the United States — have been vaccinated, and more than 70% of all Americans over age 18 have been vaccinated as well.

And yet.

We are told that we are experiencing a massive COVID-19 crisis. We have been told that the vaccinated must mask up again; that the unvaccinated should be barred from public establishments; that children must be masked in school. We have been told that America faces doom and death on a daily basis and that we’re seeing a crisis akin to the last wave of the coronavirus in January. We’re masking up and checking vaccine cards in Washington, D.C., in San Francisco, in Los Angeles, in New York.

The statistics simply do not bear this out. According to the seven-day rolling average as calculated by The New York Times, fewer than 400 Americans per day are dying of COVID-19; at the height of the pandemic, well over 3,000 were. In Washington, D.C. (total population: 692,000), that number is 0; in San Francisco County (total population: 875,000), that number is 0; in Los Angeles County (total population: 10 million), that number is 9; in New York City (total population: 8.4 million), that number is 3.

The current delta variant spike has resulted in a massive case count, particularly in Florida, but deaths are not following cases — and if the United States follows the pattern of the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, we’re likely to see the case count begin to crater in the next few weeks. Those who are vaccinated are not dying of COVID-19; their death rate is minuscule. Those who are unvaccinated have chosen not to vaccinate; they are independent adults capable of determining their own approach to risk and reward.

All of which requires us to ask the question: When are we done?

When are we done telling children to mask up to protect adults who don’t want to vaccinate? When are we done telling businesses to close up or bar customers based on vaccination status? When are we done with mask mandates (data suggests that mask mandates are ineffective, even if masking is sometimes useful), with evidence-free social distancing rules (six feet is pure conjecture), with the ever-vacillating, Delphic pronouncements of Dr. Anthony Fauci? We have hit the goal posts; every adult now has the capacity to protect himself. There are no other realistic goal posts: Zero COVID-19 cases was never a realistic goal.

When is the job of government done?

And yet.

Our public health “experts” continue to promote more and more outrageous restrictions. This week, National Institutes of Health Director Francis Collins went so far as to recommend that vaccinated parents mask up in their own homes around their own children . There is no limiting principle to this, no end goal. There is only a bureaucratic and political elite unwilling to treat citizens as adults, recognize their own limitations and leave us all the hell alone.

And if we accept that, we deserve nothing less than subjection to their paternalistic control.

Ben Shapiro, 37, is a graduate of UCLA and Harvard Law School, host of “The Ben Shapiro Show,” and editor-in-chief of DailyWire.com. He is the author of the New York Times bestsellers “How To Destroy America In Three Easy Steps,” “The Right Side Of History,” and “Bullies.”

This will not end until everybody gets vaccinated.

At least 90-95% of adults need to get vaccinated.

We already have herd immunity between the vaccinated and the already infected with natural immunity now.  Vaccination is a person free will choice.  It is not something that government can coerce others into doing. Especially since is still an experimental drug at this point. We reached Bidens original July 4th goal.this month.  Lockdowns and mandates will only happen in blue political areas.

Cases are high.  Hospitalizations are much smaller in proportion to the number of cases than before and death rates much smaller still compared to total cases.  The people with natural immunity and the vaccinated will greatly mitigate the spread of this variant for the 1-3 weeks it remains a force here.

While some hospitals are full,  the total count of hospitalized patients is nowhere close to what it was back in Jan.

Peak - 1/11/2021  -  130k hospitalized

             7/31/2021 -  44k hospitalized

Also the 7 day average case count is less than half of what it was in January.  Then the 7day average was 250k where as today it's 90k.  While the numbers are still bad, this shows that the hysteria and fear thta is being pushed by main-stream media.

Correct.

But some "mentally challenged" people make the wrong choice!

A conservative radio host who downplayed vaccines on his show is on an oxygen machine after a severe COVID-19 infection

  • Phil Valentine, a conservative talk-show host, is battling COVID-19 on an oxygen tank in the hospital.
  • The hospitalization comes after his remarks downplaying both the coronavirus and the vaccines.
  • On his radio show, Phil suggested the coronavirus is not as serious as health officials have made it out to be.
  • "I'm not an anti-vaxxer. I'm just using common sense," he said in a December  blog post . "What are my odds of getting COVID? They're pretty low. What are my odds of dying from COVID if I do get it? Probably way less than one percent."
  • But a COVID-19 vaccination can help curb the spread of the virus and  offer protection to others as well. Since his hospitalization, Phil, 61, has reversed course on his stance, according to Mark.

Now that he's contracted the disease, he "regrets" his comments about the vaccines, his family said.

However, some conservatives - we all see and hear them 'bigly" talking about dumb abstracts like freedom and liberty as if SARS-2 does not have freedom to "f" up anybody it can.

And Jefferson, you can bluster all you want. It's republicans and some conservatives lungs that are having the "wind" sucked out of them the most and this winter just might tell the story.

I have ordered my masks (and shots) stockpile and so has my family. So you can talk bull patty all you want and everyone and a while look over at your "friend" SARS-2 to see if "he" gives a patty.

As for conservative blacks and "superstitious" disaffected liberals, let them eat "freedom" until it downs them. I have no more words for 'running' ignorance.

JIM CROW: New York Will Deny Service to 72% of Young Black Residents Due to Passport

by Collin Rugg a day ago

The Democratic party has historically been the party who has oppressed black Americans and this historical fact remains true to this day.

New York City will be denying services and jobs to 72% of young, black New Yorkers as the city’s vaccine passport law will go into effect on September 13th, leaving many black Americans without work and servcies.

New York Times reports:

Young Black New Yorkers are especially reluctant to get vaccinated, even as the Delta variant is rapidly spreading among their ranks. City data shows that only 28 percent of Black New Yorkers ages 18 to 44 years are fully vaccinated, compared with 48 percent of Latino residents and 52 percent of white residents in that age group.

This vaccination gap is emerging as the latest stark racial disparity in an epidemic full of them. Epidemiologists say they expect this third wave will hit Black New Yorkers especially hard.

“This is a major public health failure,” said Dr. Dustin Duncan, an epidemiologist and Columbia University professor.

It is just a matter of time before Democrats try to spin this development and blame it on Republicans considering the left-wing party has a history of trying to blame Republicans for their power-grabbing racism.

Breitbart adds commentary to the report:

Why would anyone trust a media that for three years told us Donald Trump was a Russian spy? Why would we trust health “experts” who tell us MAGA rallies are super-spreader events and Black Lives Matter riots and Obama birthday parties are not? Why would anyone trust a government that told us we were winning in Afghanistan? Why would anyone trust the institutions that told us Trump could never win, Brexit could never happen, riots are “mostly peaceful,” Andrew Cuomo epitomizes leadership, men can magically transform into women, Hunter Biden’s laptop is Russian disinformation, Trump voters spread COVID, and illegal aliens don’t, the coronavirus came from a bat and definitely not a lab, killer Hurricanes are on the way, we’ve seen the last of snow, and Trump supporters killed a police officer with a fire extinguisher?

Why would anyone trust a Democrat party that tells us we’re killing people if we don’t wear a mask and is then constantly caught not wearing masks?

Why would anyone trust a health community that locked us down even as Texas, Florida, and South Dakota prove lockdowns changed nothing?

Why would anyone trust a CDC that is right now spreading hysteria over “breakthrough” coronavirus cases among the vaccinated that are nowhere near as dangerous as driving a car or crossing the street?

Every horror committed against black Americans has been committed by Democrats, from slavery to Jim Crow to the KKK to the public schools to the Tuskegee experiments.

You cannot blame anyone for being wary of the vaccine, especially black Americans, and openly discriminating against them with vaccine passports is an obscenity.

Yeah, get your passports right. Black people are not a pretext for discussion about right-wing idiocy. Can you dig it, Jefferson? It is your disingenuousness that shows you up at every turn up at comment. It strikes me that because I have established that I am a black male - homosexual-Christian though the last two you see no need to 'prod' for exploitation you can rather  insultingly and on an impulse 'stab' the blackness for effect? How pathetically ridiculous.

FYI I don't dislike Tim Scott or Larry Elder because they are Black republicans - I don't appreciate that both mean stripped themselves of identity essentially to be in your world. I am pretty sure you stripped yourselves of little to nothing to have them join.

You see, when I join 'something' or a group I look for what's in it for me - and everybody else. Some conservatives are "one-way" and that is "f-ed up" on its face. Ditto for Scott and Elder. And any conservatives and liberals in New York who are allowing themselves to be exploited by right-wing news media.

Well. there's an interesting irony here. The MAGAs, the most fanatical Trump supporter ,are the ones mostly like to believe the MAGA propaganda-- that Covid is, in the words of Sean Hannity speaking about Covid:

This is the Democrats latest hoax

And most of these MAGA crazies are the most like to believe that the Vaccine is an attempt to implant electrodes in their brains when injected in order to control them!

And these morons are the most like to rant and rave about how we have choice, and sine the Vaccine is a gov't plot, we should reject it!

De Santis was exactly right as he ripped Biden a news one and publicly humiliated him as he richly deserved.

When the hell was that, lol?  Some people have been "ripping a news one" on Biden since 1972, I think he ignores it quite well.

We will not be controlled.

You are being controlled, you just can't see the forest for the trees.

During the 2003 SARS outbreak in VietNam they initiated masks, hand sanitizer and distancing in public.  They were the first country to contain the outbreak.  In 2020 they began the same protocol.  They have had 105 deaths in a country of 96.5 million people.

On the other hand where 'freedumb' is prized above all else in the USA we have had 614,000 deaths out of 330 million.

That is staggeringly stupid of Americans and yet,

on and on some of us bitch about public health guidelines and vaccines.

Your continued denial of the fact that there are terms the left use that we dislike regarding certain regions of the country as well is duly noted.

I'm also not quite sure what that bizarre phrase means.

Opinion.

No freakin kidding.  All creators syndicate articles whether conservative or libertarian or liberal are op-Ed articles.  When was that ever a question?

BI sexuals?  How exactly can they control your life?

I said no coastal. Not bi sexual.  The secular progressive elite left of the east and west cost urban areas. They do try to control our lives.

Get elected then you can participate in making the rules

A more reasonable and acceptable alternative Is to vote and then get involved on the issues and write letters and lobby the people we select to be our public servants.  We have no local government lockdowns or mandates.

When the hell was that, lol?  Some people have been "ripping a news one" on Biden since 1972, I think he ignores it quite well.

If a christian can refuse to bake a cake on religious grounds then why can't a business man in fear for his health refuse to serve any unvaccinated person?

If Christians actually can refuse to bake a cake, do art, make floral arrangements, then liberal. A n na

Just stop with the science crap already.  None of this is about science any longer.  None of this about whether or not masks work or about herd immunity or, even, how the virus spreads.

The debate now is about authority.  The question now is not when the pandemic ends.  The question is when authority justified by the pandemic ends.  When will government officials imposing dictates onto the public become unacceptable?

Bureaucratic authority has intruded into every aspect of daily life.  That bureaucratic authority has controlled how we fulfill our needs, how we travel, how we work, how we socialize, how we practice religion, how we obtain medical care, how we educate our children.  Bureaucratic authority has even intruded into our own homes; we are being told to wear masks in our own homes.  When does that bureaucratic authority become unacceptable?  And will that bureaucratic authority end when the pandemic ends?  There haven't been any assurances.

Some conservatives are having a 'debate' about authority. SARS-2 does not care what your petty political arrangements. More and more chronically ill, hospitalized, and dead some conservatives will be the outcome.

You're only arguing for more government authority.  When does that authority imposing itself onto every facet of daily life become unacceptable?

I'm sorry, when did this discussion switch from SARS-2 pandemic to "freedom fanaticism"? Are you vaccinated, Nerm? I don't remember if you were a part of the online NT discussion and polling on this. (I am vaccinated 2x.) Care to share? Or would it violate your "HIPPA"? (If so remain silent and I will just continue on.)

And I know damn well you do not intend on lecturing me about interference in "facets of daily life."

Because the regime is perpetuating the pandemic and using it to take away our freedoms that progressives want to take away from us.

How come when Trump had his half assed travel bans and restrictions you weren't on here every day bashing the "regime"?  He banned Chinese nationals entry to the USA but allowed tens of thousands of Americans and other nationalities to return without testing them.

How come when he made these announcements you weren't all apoplectic about it?

Trump asked people to stay home, avoid gathering in groups, forgo discretionary travel and stop eating in food courts and bars for the next 15 days. “If everyone makes this change or these critical changes and sacrifices now, we will rally together as one nation and we will defeat the virus and we’re going to have a big celebration all together,” Trump said at a White House press briefing on March 16, 2020, where he also announced the first vaccine candidate entering phase 1 clinical trials. “With several of weeks of focused action we can turn the tide and turn it quickly.”

The CDC and the Red Cross have now figured out that we had hundreds of cases of blood samples that had COVID antibodies in them 6  weeks before China locked down Wuhan, two weeks before China started to suspect a "new" virus.

These people had survived a flu like event and survived prior to 12/13/19 in the Red Cross samples.

The mysteries of COVID are still being unraveled.

Another way to look at your predicament is the progressives are trying to save the regressives from themselves.

You should be grateful not hateful.
