Elites think they’re better than you

Elites think they’re better than you
They think the God you worship is nothing more than a figment of your imagination. They think the family you raise is outdated. They think the society you belong to is racist. While the country was locked down, they were on vacation in Cabo or getting their hair cut. While your child's school was closed, their children continued to learn in private school. While you had to abide by the rules, they were too busy “feeling the spirit.” They hurt those living in rural areas

The bi coastal secular progressive elites really do think that they are better than the rest of us.  The sheer condescending arrogance of this ruling class knows no bounds.  Their contempt for Americans who live between the coasts in the flyover heartland is deep.  They drip with contempt, using terms like bitter clingers, chumps, deplorables and doubling down on them.

S E E D E D   C O N T E N T

Elites think they’re better than you

They think they’re smarter than you. They think they deserve more than you. They think they’re better than you.

Who are they, you ask? Hollywood, Silicon Valley, athletes, politicians, entertainment, those who dine at the French Laundry or attend the Met Gala — they all think they’re better than you.

They think the God you worship is nothing more than a figment of your imagination. They think the family you raise is outdated. They think the society you belong to is racist.

While the country was locked down, they were on vacation in Cabo or getting their hair cut . While your child's school was closed, their children continued to learn in private school . While you had to abide by the rules, they were too busy “ feeling the spirit .”

They hurt those living in rural areas (typically the middle- and lower-income earners) by charging more for peak-rate electricity while they sit in their mansions on the coast. They make you pay $5 a gallon for gas (again affecting middle- and lower-income earners who commute from farther away) while they live closer to the city. While you struggle to pay to keep food on your family's table , they go to events that cost $35,000 or buy freezers for $24,000 .

They insist we must do all we can to help the homeless, as long as it’s away from their neighborhood. They talk about America being racist while also owning four homes . They tell you not to question authority and that you’re too dumb to do research .

There is a growing divide in this country created by the wealthy elites, politicians, athletes, and others who feel more entitled than the rest of society. Not just in wealth but in all facets. And from their perspective, why should they have to live like us? They have the Harvard degree. They live in the nice neighborhood. They have more money than you. Why should they have to live the same way as us deplorables? They talk down to the rest of us because, they’ve made it clear, they are part of the aristocracy. They are above the rules.

But America isn’t made up of these people. Instead, it’s made up by the truck drivers; it’s made up by nurses and teachers and working-class people, people who will say something and follow through on their promise.

Don’t fall for their words about trying to help you because they’ve made it clear they don’t care about you. They think they’re better than you.

"Elite" has nothing to do with it. If you're a rational American with an above room temp IQ you're almost certainly a more functional, more productive human than those who have gleefully accepted the nickname 'deplorable' after self-diagnosing their xenophobia, homophobia, Islamophobia and misogyny and continue to cling to the fat greasy leg of a monumental narcissist serial liar populist buffoon loser.

Maybe it's not the "elites" that are the problem.  I come here (NT) and post about my beliefs all the time and gordy & Tig comment and ask questions, but never condemn my beliefs.  Could it be you have so much trouble with non-Christians criticizing your religion because you are always whining about being persecuted when in truth you have not been?  Or could it be because you tend to call anyone that is not a Christian unpatriotic and keep claiming the US is a "Christian nation"?  Or could it be that their questions make you uncomfortable & doubt your beliefs?

Why do you feel it necessary to tear down others to build yourself up?  Do you do it because you are dissatisfied with your life?  Why keep posting these "poor me" seeds?

It’s about the condescension and arrogance of secular progressive elites and that attitude they have toward the working and middle class residents of heartland America.

First, most secular progressives are the working middle class. Second, do you not sense any irony in expressing your toxic attitude towards secular progressives and the hard working, tax paying American citizens who happen to live along our coasts? You've been calling them just about every negative name in the book for years, which I'm sure is exactly what Christ would have done if he were in your shoes, right? "

"If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also." - Matthew 5:39

Perhaps he meant to just turn your other cheek while punching the offender in the face... /s

They say you catch more flies with honey than vinegar, but the bitter acid you've been spitting daily at anyone who isn't a white Christian conservative has clearly left you with few people ever agreeing with you.

I generally try to respect other's views whether they be political or religious. Those freedoms  were some of the the  principles this country was founded on. I respect other's rights to do so and request they do the same to me. If people treat me with respect I will respond in kind and will respond back when verbally attacked because their views and mine differ. Whatever views I have on religion I generally keep to myself and my immediate family and close friends and are nobody's business on NT unless I choose to share them. Not all have the same views and there are some here on NT that detest me because I do not share their political views and will not back down to them. They know who they are. Because we disagree does not make either of us bad people. Either way I still wish them peace and still respect their right to their views.

They think they’re smarter than you. They think they deserve more than you. They think they’re better than you.

To be fair, some people are smarter than you. Not necessarily the ones who think they are. But sometimes a person who thinks they are smarter than you . . . actually is.

Of course that doesn’t mean they deserve more or that they’re better people. But it is worth considering the idea that maybe sometimes we should open our minds to the words of people who are genuinely better educated about a topic than we are.

I honestly don't know what is meant by "genuine capitalism and fair trade", or if it is even possible.

I had hoped the person supporting it could explain it because it has repercussions for everyone in our country and for everyone our country does business with.

I know the details are probably complex, but I expect people to know the details and have the ability to provide the details when a program has this kind of economic impact on the lives of billions of people.

"Who benefits and who pays for those benefits" should always be questions that are answered before a person throws their support into things like this.

For decades, our elected representatives  have been enacting programs that is causing massive inequity that is continuing to grow.
