Well, it looks like this year's garden is shaping up to be a showcase of things that can go wrong. So far, anyway.
It was a dry spring, which is almost unheard of in my region.
A lot of things weren't growing properly in the beginning, and took forever to get going.
The corn came up a little spotty and has been growing unevenly.
And now... Bugocalypse 2023!
This was June...

June 23, 2023
I'm sorry that it's been almost a month, but everything other than the tomatoes and potatoes are growing slower than normal this year, and I didn't really want to post an update when nothing much had changed. There's finally enough to look at now, though.
The potatoes have been going gangbusters.
The reds are flowering here and there.
Kohlrabi and beets are just...

Are the citizens eager to help arrest the madmen shooting up their streets? Thankful police show up to to protect them?
Nope.
They confront the police wielding 2x4s.

2023 – Another Year, Another Garden
By: Dig • Gardening • 167 comments • last year
I don't know how often I'll be able to post updates, which are pic-heavy and time consuming, but I thought I'd try to blog another garden this summer.
Quick reminder: I don't claim to be an expert, and I'm not trying to grow heaps of stuff to fill a root cellar or anything. This is just a hobby for enjoyment and exercise – and a few fresh veggies, of course.
And we're off...
Here's how...

What a lot of pomp and circumstance. Charles, age 74, waited in the wings patiently for this...
But, is this really relevant in the modern world?

I Am a Solitary

There are so many symbols, rituals, feasts, and ways to work Magick. There are many ways to practice:
Coven-Based Witch
Solitary Witch
Hereditary Witch
Crystal Witch
Cosmic Witch
Green Witch
Hedge Witch
Plant Witch
I am a Solitary. I perform my rituals alone. I use Tarot, pendulum, candles, crystals, and my Book of Shadows.
I have an athame, a chalice, ceremonial bowl,...

The Bad Shopper

Those that know me know I like to complain. I have a tendency to burden people with my problems. Sorry about that.
For some reason I cannot stop myself though. Maybe I am just selfish that way. So I am going to burden you all with my problems again. I have another one.
All of my underwear seems to be bad. I put on a pair today and the elastic was shot. Pulled them up and nothing. Just about...
Will Biden Apoligize?
By: Sean Treacy • Op-Ed • 10 comments • last year
Joe Biden, in one of the more histrionic and disgraceful speeches in recent American history called the Georgia election law "Jim Crow 2.0" in an obvious attempt to keep his base angry and tilting at windmills. Corporations, always willing to toe the progressive line, pitched in, with the moving of the MLB All-Star Game the capstone achievement of a movement based on nothing but the fear...
Let Your Freak Flag Fly

Every time I read the news there is always an article about some kind of anti LGBT activism going on.
I have yet to understand the almost complete hatred some have surrounding anything that has to do with sexual orientation.
To be honest, I fail to see how someone's sexuality is political at all. We have people's very lives being used as an agenda to attack some perceived mortal sin that...
