Newsvine Litigation Results

$468.98

Could have knocked me over with a feather when I got the mail today. It's good news all over the Vine. Any one who still has an active account and registered when they started the class action will be getting a check.

Thanks for the information Wheel. I'll be looking for my $350 plus soon.

AICF will be happy that they will be getting a check soon.

There was a link on the front page when the suit first started where people could register with the lawyer's office. That's where you registered your address.

It's been a year or more. I actually seeded the story here when it started.

I still have an active account and it had nearly $300 in it owed to me. So far I haven't seen dime one. I went to the lawyer's website and registered my newsvine name, my real name and address and if this is true I hope to be getting a check for the money they owe my as a writer of original articles. It is, after all, my money.

Does anyone still have link to the website with the suit or lawyer's names?

Couldn't hurt to ask.

Like I told TGD,

Send an email to nvmod@newsvine.com under the subject line 'Class action payment inquiry' and your first and last name. But maybe ask if it's too late to register.Smile.gif

I dunno. I think this site is a business in the same way that a paper route is a business. I think Perrie carries us out of the goodness of her heart. Grin.gif

I just re-sent them my name and address and a link to my home page on Newsvine. Damn it's hard to believe that, though I almost never go there and haven't for awhile, my account has been active since 2008! Sure would be nice to get a few bucks.

What percentage of your claim did you get?

The last time I saw the phrase "You could have knocked me over with a feather" spoken was in the movie "Little Lord Fauntelroy" with Alec Guiness and Ricky Schroeder.

Little Lord Fauntelroy? Really? It was a pretty common saying when I was a kid.

Good. I only wish them nothing but the worst. They deserve to go bankrupt due to the way they treated their members. Please everyone who can bleed them of every last red cent you can take away from those charlatans.

I don't know. They sure paid me a good amount when I was there. Until the bottom fell out all of a sudden of course and they started paying for shit. I think it all went toward Sally's salary and she wasn't/isn't worth the effort to fart on.

Her and Tyler are equally worthless human debris. Such simple minded creatures. Paid advertiser my butt. They simply rolled over for their huffpo refugees and a few other liars.

My thanks to Wheel for telling us as well. The address I gave them was c/o my daughter in Toronto, and I have now warned her such a letter would be forthcoming, so she wouldn't think it was just junk mail and trash it without opening it.

The person who started this class action deserves 3 cheers and a champagne toast. Naturally NV and its owner NBC would have screwed everyone and anyone if they could have gotten away with it. I was lucky to get my claim in just in time, in fact just after the door closed but I argued with the law firm that because of where I was I did not get notice in time and they reopened the door for me - so I was pretty lucky. I don't think submitting a claim now will get a result since the matter has obviously been finally settled.

I put my original claim in sometime early last year I believe or late the year before. I hope it was soon enough.

I got my check and it was only for $42 and change! They owed me close to $300! As usual, I've been screwed by Newsvine!

Yes and for no legitimate reason. I may be too bitter but after being there for around 6 years and treated like that was just stupid. Of course no one thought Tyler was anything but stupid anyway. He always did have a raging bias against conservatives.

That's strange. Wheel said he got his whole claim. Surely everyone had to be treated equally.

One would think. Maybe I'll email them again, not that it would do me any good. The check is cut and delivered and it's almost impossible to appeal. The problem is, of course, I have no proof.

No proof? The amount of your claim would have been in the records of Newsvine, and that evidence was probably subpeoned.

Well, something got screwed up along the way, because I had close to $300 in my account. Fuck it. They're not worth the aggravation for the money. I'll just take the $42 and drop it. It's not like I post there anymore anyway.

Now of course I was still drinking...A LOT back then, but I still think it was like $280 something. I'm not going to bother. I deposited the check and am going to just slide on from it. Since I never expected to anything at all from them its still "found money" and good for cheeseburgers. I can accept it. Valium helps.Grin.gif
