The war on Christmas, and Thanksgiving, and Columbus Day, and...
And, in the case of Christmas, their focus has been on removing the fact that it is a birthday celebration for Christ, hence Christmas, hence "Christmas tree" – which they have tried to rename as "holidays tree." This way, they are being "inclusive" – except for excluding Christians. The war on Christmas is not being undertaken...

S E E D E D   C O N T E N T

Columbus Day has been attacked every year because Christopher Columbus supposedly personally carried out genocide, a complete fabrication by Marxists who are famous for falsifying history for ideological purposes.  For those students who are not obsessed with Columbus's "crimes," their ignorance of his achievement is cringe-worthy.  While Indigenous Peoples Day started innocently enough in 1989, leftists now want to put it in place of Columbus Day, thereby tarnishing both holidays.

Halloween is becoming less and less fun as liberals either cry out "cultural appropriation!" or claim that certain ethnic costumes (Polynesian, Mexican, Arabic, Oriental, etc.) will put someone in a coma.  For some unstated reason, even the name "Halloween" is objected to in favor of ..."Orange and Black Day" (doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, now does it?).

211063_5_.png Valentine's Day is under attack in India and in Muslim countries and here as well from liberals.  Campus Reform had a mock petition for outlawing Valentine's Day that the mindless cattle – that is, the college students – signed.  Jamie Glazov gives a detailed analysis of the parallels between the pathological hatred of Muslims and leftists for Valentine's Day, a day of love.

And, in the case of Christmas, their focus has been on removing the fact that it is a birthday celebration for Christ, hence Christmas, hence "Christmas tree" – which they have tried to rename as "holidays tree."  Some places have banned Christmas decorations altogether.  Some ads have even removed all presence of Christianity from Christmas to the point of including Muslims.  This way, they are being "inclusive" – except for excluding Christians.  The war on Christmas is not being undertaken in isolation.

In case you hadn't noticed, it's now Thanksgiving Day's turn.  Yep.  Nothing is sacred to liberals.  Even some leftist Jews have attacked it – when not glamorizing Jewish holidays.  With their odious, joyless outlook, leftists have targeted a beloved holiday when family members travel to gather and be with one another, a day to take stock and be thankful for what you have, a day to commemorate the peaceful friendship between Pilgrims and Indians.  The fact that both Christmas and Thanksgiving have a religious overtone makes them an neven bigger target for leftists.  Some have used their hatred of Trump to attack the White House Christmas decorations.

At least PETA put a smile on our faces by wanting to erect a memorial to the turkeys that died in an Iowa traffic accident.

The truth of the matter is that leftists do not really hate Halloween, or Columbus Day, or Thanksgiving Day  per se .  The attacks on the holidays are just the tip of the iceberg.  Saturated with hatred, deep down, their real hate is for the country, the society that they live in; the holidays and the anthem are just manifestations of America (or Canada).  They are addicted – yes, addicted – to hate.  That is one of the characteristics of a liberal personality.

In their minds, to hate one's country, one's race, one's sex, and one's religion is the height of intellectual achievement and makes them intellectually superior to the rest of us.  I disagree with this self-assessment.

Do notice that Christmas, Valentine's Day, Independence Day, and Thanksgiving Day all embrace the concept of love in one way or another.

Regardless, leftists are not going to be very successful in abolishing Thanksgiving Day.  Or Halloween.  Or Valentine's Day.  Or Christmas.  Or the National Anthem.  Not even in California.

But they will try.  In the meantime, pass the gravy.

What is with this 'poor me'?  First of all, it is disingenuous to get your knickers in a twist because people aren't sufficiently 'christian' for you, when you support the most unchristian, ungodly, lying treasonous criminal who bangs and pays off or marries porn stars and nude models.  Just stop already, the evangelical christian crowd has lost their moral compass.

I say Merry Christmas to whoever I want and get friendly greetings in return.  My street is goddamn Christmas wonderland candyland and people are driving through right now.  We also celebrate Valentines day.  Which is my birthday.   My Jewish friends also often get CHRISTMAS TREES!  I live in So California.  The entire 'war on my favorite holidays' is total nonsense bullshit.  I don't know where you live, but I doubt you have any of the problems you mention either.

I live in the territory of the future state of Jefferson.  We have many really nicely decorated neighborhoods here in Redding.  No one bothers with waging a war on Christmas or the 4th of July around here.

In 2004 Bill O'Reilly started his nonsense about "a war on Christmas" extending to the Post office's issuance of new religious stamps.

“The tipping point in the obliteration of Christmas came, I think, in the first year of the Clinton Administration. While everyone else was absorbed in the ‘gays in the military’ flap, I noted that the United States Postal Service had adopted the slogan, ‘We deliver for Yule.’ Since then, no Christmas from the USPS or, so far as I can tell, anything else related to the federal government.”

In 2015 The Daily Caller picked up a similar story drumming up fake outrage against the Obama Administration.

I remember the typical members here and "over there" getting themselves all twisted in liberal hate fests.

It turns out that in  2015 ( as has happened many times before) the Post office was overstocked with previous issues of all religious stamps and did not need to commission or print any new ones.

No war on Christmas, just typical inventory control.

USPS spokesperson Mark Saunders directly addressed the claims made by the Daily Caller back in September 2015 by noting that the USPS didn’t publish a new religious Christmas stamp design for the 2015 season because there were still “more than a half billion religious-themed holiday stamps” in stock:

The oldest example of a war on Christmas in North America was actually laws passed by New England Puritans in 1659 though 1681 outlawing the celebration of Christmas and "other superstitious holidays"

Why? Because, as befitted their name, the Puritans found feasting, wassailing, gift giving, and wishing one another a merry Christmas ungodly and sinful (we suspect not even the secularized greeting “Happy holidays” would have been acceptable to this lot).

Despite a 22-year ban on celebrating it (the law was repealed in 1681), Christmas survived unscathed to eventually become the most popular (not to mention durable) holiday celebrated in America.

Feliz Navidad !

Some places have banned Christmas decorations altogether.

 Who has banned Christmas decorations?

A business can use any religious symbols that they want on their advertisements. Its the protected free speech of the owners.

In fact it’s the least likely way that they would do it. Those in legislative bodies have to win re election and aren’t going to overtly or attack traditional American values.  Likely they try to do it with cultural influences in media and academia and they also resort to unelected persons in black robes to impose their war on America and its exceptional values.

First you agree there is no war on Christmas, then you turn right around and whine about how you're under attack.

Imagine if you will, that there was not only "fire truck red" but "Christian Red" which was a bright shiny red that every Church in America was painted. It was easily recognizable as "Christian Red" and many towns, over the last hundred years, had painted their homes "Christian Red" and other things in their community "Christian Red", like their Schools, their court houses and their town squares. And since the vast majority in the community were Christians who supported everything being painted with their namesake color, the voices that complained were easily drowned out and ignored.

Then, many years later, there was an underground movement to start repainting the Schools, court houses and town squares more inclusive colors like "Islam Purple", "Atheist Blue", "Hindu Yellow" and "Buddhist Grey". Now, none of those "Christian Red" Churches were being asked to repaint in "Islam Purple", and no private homes were being asked to repaint, just public institutions meant for the use of all citizens regardless of which color or faith you prefer. But since there's been so much uproar by the defenders of "Christian Red", dissenters are simply asking to repaint everything in "Neutral Brown" so no public institution is colored by any specific faith.

Now, would you consider the movement to repaint public institutions in inclusive or Neutral colors a "war" on "Christian Red"? Would you even consider it an "attack"? Or, would you, like most reasonable persons, accept that "Christian Red" deserves no special status in secular society thus repainting something once "Christian Red" isn't an attack at all, it's a defense of religious freedom and equality for all other faiths as well as for non-believers.

The bank and car bailouts were a Geo. W. Bush policy.

TARP was signed into law by President George W. Bush on October 3, 2008 with the passage of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act. The program was pioneered by Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson in a bid to address the subprime mortgage crisis which was spiraling out of control.

.

December 19, 2008: President Bush approved a bailout plan and gave General Motors and Chrysler $13.4 billion in financing from TARP (Troubled Assets Relief Program) funds, as well as $4 billion to be "withdrawn later".

It was law whether Obama supported it or not.   The car czar existed to look after the taxpayer's interests because we became the majority shareholder.  If there was more regulation of both the banking sector and the auto industry those actions wouldn't have been needed but somehow conservatives think that corporate deregulation is always a net positive for the country, despite what history has proven.   The bank and auto CEOs should have done 20 years in the greybar hotel for their reckless actions but in the US there are many people who think that CEOs are a god.

sorry to break the news but fascism is a leftwing thing

SWING and a miss. Fascism is, always has been and always will be right wing.

Fascism   ( / ˈ f æ ʃ ɪ z əm / ) is a form of radical   authoritarian   ultranationalism , [1] [2] [3] [4]   characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition and strong regimentation of society and of the economy, [5]   which came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe. [6]   The first fascist movements   emerged in Italy   during   World War I   before   it spread to other European countries . [6] Opposed to   liberalism ,   Marxism   and   anarchism , fascism is placed on the   far-right   within the traditional   left–right spectrum . [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11]

Fascists saw   World War I   as a   revolution   that brought massive changes to the nature of war, society, the state and technology. The advent of   total war   and the total mass mobilization of society had broken down the distinction between civilians and combatants. A "military citizenship" arose in which all citizens were involved with the military in some manner during the war. [12] [13]   The war had resulted in the rise of a powerful state capable of mobilizing millions of people to serve on the front lines and providing economic production and logistics to support them, as well as having unprecedented authority to intervene in the lives of citizens. [12] [13]

Fascists believe that   liberal democracy   is obsolete and they regard the complete mobilization of society under a   totalitarian   one-party state   as necessary to prepare a nation for armed conflict and to respond effectively to economic difficulties. [14]   Such a state is led by a strong leader—such as a   dictator   and a   martial   government composed of the members of the governing fascist party—to forge national unity and maintain a stable and orderly society. [14]   Fascism rejects assertions that violence is automatically negative in nature and views political violence, war and   imperialism   as means that can achieve national rejuvenation. [15] [16] [17] [18]   Fascists advocate a   mixed economy , with the principal goal of achieving   autarky   (national economic self-sufficiency) through   protectionist   and interventionist economic policies. [19]

Since the end of   World War II   in 1945, few parties have openly described themselves as fascist and the term is instead now usually used   pejoratively   by political opponents. The descriptions   neo-fascist   or post-fascist are sometimes applied more formally to describe parties of the far-right with ideologies similar to, or rooted in, 20th-century fascist movements. Opposed to liberalism , Marxism and anarchism , fascism is placed on the far-right within the traditional left–right spectrum . [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11]

Did ya have to make 'em cry...on Christmas day no less? Lol

Your source has a very obvious conservative bias, so it isn't surprising that they are trying to deflect from the fact that fascism is an extremely conservative policy.

How can fascism not be a far-right idea?

Which of the 14 points of fascism are a liberal idea?

If you watch what I posted you will see it is only a argument for why it isn't a right wing ideology. Personally I think it is neither left or right  but like Nazism a one off dictator with similarities to other forms of government.

How can fascism not be a conservative idea when it gives almost all power to the state and rallies around the flag, corporate control and military might?  Mussolini, like Hitler, was also a dictator.

when it gives almost all power to the state

conservatives do not believe in all power to big govt.

we believe in small, limited govt and keep our 2nd amendment to keep it that way.

the all powerful big govt is a leftwing thing.

did the left not try to give the federal govt more power over our healthcare? and fine us for not playing?

of course they did... and those are the fascists.

fascists also try to silence opposing political thought... again.  that is a leftwing thing.

Actually I’m laying down in bed with pneumonia being treated since Saturday resting so that I can make it to my relatives home tomorrow for Christmas.  To answer your question, I wouldn’t seed something here unless I was largely in agreement with what it was saying.  I really am a pro capitalist person blending conservative, populist, and libertarian with a touch of social conservative mixed in.  I am an evangelical Protestant Christian who believes in and advocates for the existence of angels, literal one week creation, and the great global flood.  I really do identify with CIS, FAIR, Concerned Women For America, Liberty Council, Family Research Council, Focus On the Family, and Alliance  Defending Freedom.  That is who and what I am.

That doesn't make it, or you, right.

a touch of social conservative mixed in.

A touch? Seems more like a full on grope fest of social conservatism. Lol

who believes in and advocates for the existence of angels, literal one week creation, and the great global flood.

Except there is not one iota of evidence to support any of those BELIEFS!

I really do identify with CIS, FAIR, Concerned Women For America, Liberty Council, Family Research Council, Focus On the Family, and Alliance Defending Freedom. That is who and what I am.

That's certainly not something I would be proud of.

Despite our, shall we say...differences of opinions, I sincerely wish you a speedy recovery and a happy holiday with family. Pneumonia sucks! Especially if it gets bad enough to the point when antibiotics becomes necessary. Tis the season for it though. In addition to plenty of rest, I recommend hot green tea (with lemon if preferred), plenty of water (hydration makes mobilizing lung secretions easier), Foods with high protein and vitamin C and zinc (take supplements if necessary), and of course, some plain old fashioned chicken soup. A little Dayquil and a cough suppressant can curb symptoms while visiting family. Wear a mask too so you do not inadvertently spread germs to others. Also, make sure you wash your hands frequently and have a bottle of purell handy. I cannot stress proper hand hygiene enough, especially during cold/flu season.

Sorry to hear that.

Not too many years ago I had 2 cases of pneumonia that lasted 6 months each. Don't even want to mention the work situation.

Both times the professionals could not cure me. I added 1 thing which worked both times. These days, if I get any respiratory infection I take these at the get go.  3 caps 3 times a day until finished. Not the liquid soft gel caps. They are useless.

That stuff works. Continue taking your prescribed stuff too.

Hope you get better.

The so called ''War on Christmas'' is another BS, made up fantasy of the right...

Another ''FAKE NEWS'' article, well done HA.
