Democrats allowing Ilhan Omar's anti-Semitic rhetoric to be standard-bearer for the party
“Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.”

S E E D E D   C O N T E N T

Rep. Ilhan Omar sparked outrage Sunday from both Democrats and Republicans after asserting on Twitter that U.S. support for Israel is based on monetary support from Jewish groups, especially AIPAC, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.

-----------------------------------------------------

Most alarmingly, Omar’s comments on Sunday were neither a surprise nor an unexpected gaffe by the Minnesota congresswoman, but part of Omar’s long and calculated opposition to Israel and Jewish people worldwide.

-----------------------------------------------------

In 2012, Omar posted on Twitter that “Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.”
On the 2018 campaign trail, Omar attempted to reassure voters that she does not support the radical Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) Movement that opposes Zionism, endorses Nazi-style boycotts of Jewish businesses, and attempts to delegitimize the State of Israel, but within days of her election to the House, she flipped on the issue, giving BDS her support.

In recent months, the fifth-ranking Democrat in the House of Representatives, Hakeem Jeffries of New York, has attempted to defend Omar and other freshman Democrats who have made anti-Semitic statements. He has insisted that “the overwhelming majority of the House Democratic Caucus is strongly pro-Israel.”
Despite Jeffries’ reassurances, I fear that the growing hostility toward American Jews and the State of Israel is eroding the broad-based, unqualified support for Israel that is simply no longer seen in today’s Democratic Party.

Ilhan Omar is NOTHING MORE than an Islamic Radical Dink , voted in by American Snowflakes in Minnesota !

When she went after our newly appointed envoy to Venezuela, all she did was "Rant", and when Abrams went to answer, all "The Dink" would do is interrupt him and say …… "That wasn't a question".

You could see Ye Ol' battleax Nancy ("Tell them your a Muslim, Tell him your a Muslim") in the background just smiling when Omar spittled her nonsense and asked NO questions (according to her).

Ms. Omar, and AOC are doing a bang up job of destroying what's left of the Democrat's image and reputation. I really don't think the good people of main stream and middle America are very impressed with all these clowns on the left side of the aisle and will vote accordingly in 2020....and beyond. Pelosi is beyond pathetic and can't see what is occurring right in front of her.

Pelosi and Schumer allow it for "Shits and Giggles" on their end. I'd say...."THEY" are the ruin of their own party.

Wait, so it only takes one or two out of hundreds of legislators to paint the whole party as "socialist" or "anti-Semitic"?

So I take it we can do the same with the Republican party after hearing Steve Kings remarks, “White nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization — how did that language become offensive?”, right?

Racist Steve King and indicted Duncan Hunter and Chris Collins are doing a bang up job of destroying what's left of the Republicans image and reputation.

No, I was replying to Greg who made it about Democrats in general when he claimed two out of hundreds of representatives were "destroying what's left of the Democrat's image and reputation". I merely asked whether the same conclusion should be drawn by some Republican representatives who have said racist things. What Steve King said was actually racist, asking when the term "white supremacist" become offensive, that would be equivalent to Ms Omar having asked "anti-Semite, holocaust denier, when did those terms become offensive?". But she didn't, she merely pointed out that an Israel lobby does in fact play politics here in the US and Republican representatives often adopt AIPAC positions to gain their support much like they do with the NRA even if neither organization actually donates to their specific campaign. They know the AIPAC opinion and ratings of US legislators can make a noticeable difference in their election results. All Ms. Omar tweeted was “all about the Benjamins baby,” and you do know that wasn't a reference to Netanyahu, right?

King was taken OFF of committees for his comments by "REPUBLICANS", with an "S". Will the  "DEMOCRATS", with an "S", require the same of Omar ?

We're not sure yet, but as I pointed out, the difference between an outright racist comment and "all about the Benjamins baby" is apples and orangutans. They're not even close to being in the same league. Her mistake was openly stating something she'd noticed among congress which was just an open secret, if you want to get reelected don't piss off the NRA lobby, the Pharmaceutical lobby or the AIPAC lobby. That's a far cry from asking when being a "white supremacist" became offensive.

"Rep. Ilhan Omar Says She 'Almost Chuckles' When People Say Israel Is a Democracy"

Yet she thinks the "United States of America" is a Democracy ?

Or hasn't she got around to saying it yet ?

" Said Jim Hanson, president of Security Studies Group: “@IlhanMN is an anti-Semite. Give her an opportunity to speak her mind & like most bigots she'll tell you."

I agree with Jim Hanson....Let her keep spewing, and her true colors will just get brighter everytime the Democrats like Pelosi let her speak. jrSmiley_10_smiley_image.gif

Ocasio is just "STUPID". Omar is flat out …… "A radical Islamist" !

Has this actually been "Debunked" by anyone ?

Just wondering, since I haven't found a rebut to it !

As many candidates do, Omar has made her personal background an integral part of her campaign. But neither the candidate nor the reporters who covered her have shown much interest in exploring one aspect of her personal story that recently came to public attention: the fact that she is not legally married to the man she advertises as the husband and the father of her three children. In fact, she is legally married to another man—who may be her brother.

I originally checked out the SomaliSpot story online through the Minnesota Official Marriage System. Inputting Omar’s name, I found that the two marriages cited in the discussion board post checked out as indicated. The site reflected Omar’s 2002 marriage to her advertised husband, Ahmed Aden (later Ahmed Hirsi), and her 2009 marriage to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi (identified in the SomaliSpot post as Omar’s brother). A few days after the primary, I submitted written questions to representatives of the Omar campaign, citing the SomaliSpot post, and asking whether Omar’s second marriage had been entered into with her brother for dishonest purposes. That same afternoon, I received a message from Omar’s press contact indicating that the campaign would get back to me later that day. I didn’t hear back from campaign officials directly, but I did receive a response from Minneapolis criminal defense attorney Jean Brandl. It provided no answer to my question, and implied that the question itself evidenced bigotry against Omar and her candidacy for public office.

When it comes to current polling of the parties relating to being sympathetic with/siding with Israel or the Palestinians this congresswoman accurately represents the base of her party.  There is a 52% point difference between Republican and Democrat voters in this issue of support for Israel 🇮🇱. Republicans strongly support Israel while Democrats now prefer the Palestinians.  This was discussed in the WSJ Editors Report today.

Omar is a bigot simple as that. Will she last past her first term, that is up to her district.

You should concentrate on the bigots in your own party, before you attempt to smear anyone.

I think people vote against their own interest according to people on this site and I hate bigots if they are black , white or any color.

Some people probably do vote against their own interests. As far a bigots go, each party has a duty to call them out. Whether they do or not is another story.

I was already aware of your stats.  I don’t deny them.  I will strongly support Israel and its government, military, people, and economy even if a majority of Jews living here don’t agree with me politically. I know I’m well aligned with voting American Jews  living in Israel 🇮🇱. I will also suport our outreach to the domestic Jewish population and proudly support conservative Jewish leaders, opinion writers, talk show hosts the same as I suport conservative African American leaders, opinion writers, and talk show hosts.

What I really think, and I'm entitled to my opinion, is that the Jews in her constituency wanted to vote for a Democrat because of their reputed liberal leanings, and Omar didn't BETRAY them, she outright LIED to them. At this point if those Jews do not regret voting for her, they are complete fools.

Many liberal American Jews are now confronted with hard choices between the make up of the domestic progressive base and the make up of the nation of Israel both Israeli and American living there presently.  That conservative Republicans rally so strongly to that country and have begun earning support among some Jews domestically is a dilemma for them.  I’m a big fan of Dennis Prager and Mark Levin.

Spare me the faux outrage. Not so secretly, quite a few conservatives agree, they just want to score cheap partisan points. It wasn't that long ago these same people were twisting themselves in knots supporting the "Jews will not replace us!" rants at the August of 2015 Charlottesville White Supremacists' rally.

Even the President was defending them with, "There were some very fine people on both sides."

I never tried to deny it. I will say that any criticism of Israeli policy is often attacked as antisemitism. Sometimes it is antisemitic, sometimes it's badly stated, sometimes it's an unfunny attempt at a joke and sometimes it's legitimate criticism. In our hypersensitive world today nuance is lost and any criticism is used as a bludgeon to politically attack the group the messenger is seen to identify with.

Legitimate criticism of Israel is NOT antisemitism, and if anyone calls it that then THEY are the ones who are ignorant.  I have posted the International Holocaust Memorial Association definition of antisemitism (adopted by almost every civilized nation, including the USA) as it applies to Israel so many times I would have thought it unnecessary already to have to post it on every damned article that even MENTIONS Israel or antisemitism so that deniers will be reluctant to say again and again and again that "any criticism of Israel is called antisemitism".
