Trump is now threatening not to leave office on Inauguration Day | VozWire
Insiders say that even after the Electoral College vote, Donald Trump is still in complete denial about losing the presidential election and that he recently told his closest advisors that he would not be leaving the White House on Inauguration Day according to a report by CNN. Most individuals believed that Trump was just blowing …

He won't have a choice. Come Jan 20, 2021 at 1200 Eastern Time, he is no longer POTUS and will be considered a trespasser and a threat to the new POTUS.

My question is...who carries him out? Secret Service or White House police?

I think the Vindman brothers should head the detail.  It would be like the scene from Outbreak where the colonel who was berated by the general gets to put him under arrest at gunpoint.  I like the fundraiser idea though.  Right now there is one with the winner getting to blow up Trump's old casino.

It would be better if people would cease thinking of politics as a team sport but rather as a process for picking the best representatives for the people.    Ideally, there are no 'sides'.   We all see reality slightly different because we all have a unique perspective (our own knowledge and the way our quite individual minds work).   The notion of 'sides' only applies when people agree on very basic notions but clearly, within a side, there are many differences.   Unfortunately the prevalent partisan group-think mentality causes people to attack others who dare to think for themselves and not kowtow to the party line.

You are right Ed, the election is over and Biden clearly legitimately won.   This should be obvious to everyone.   Calling for the nation to just move on is what a rational adult (like you) would do.

You should go with what Ed wrote.   You are adding your own words to his post.    All Ed expressed was that Trump lost and that he should move on.   His words seemed crystal clear to me.    There is nothing 'dark side' about wanting the loser of the presidential race to get out of the way and allow the nation to go about the routine business of changing administrations.

If someone writes that Trump should just move on, it is a strawman to argue against believing a corrupt media.    The notion of moving on does not imply anything whatsoever about the media.

You just have to hold out for less than two damn months! It shouldn't be this damn difficult! It doesn't matter how Trump leaves the White House- he will leave. It doesn't matter if he skips Biden's inauguration (like Biden and the TDS driven wouldn't bitch if he showed up anyways). What matters is Biden won; but rather than simply accepting that and ignoring Trump; the TDS driven are going to drag out this shit out and try to make the gulf between the two sides even bigger. Then act fucking shocked, dismayed, and angered when they get the same crap they have been giving Trump and his supporters (even his non supporters) for the last 5 years thrown back into their faces.

Doesn't matter the percentage. Most is most.

As far as research..I don't need to do "research". It is called life experiences.

Actually, even CNN agrees with me.

Here s a snippet...

The media loves to focus on the easy villains who get busted on cell phone videos acting like racists. But some scholars and activists say good White people -- the progressive folks in Blue states, the kind who would have voted for Obama a third time if they could -- are some of the most tenacious supporters of systemic racism.

I think it is pretty pathetic when you wish to sell liberals on who the racists are by pointing to "progressive folks in Blue states" as above it alls, while nary expressing what red states can do better than they are currently.

For instance WTH is wrong with red states supporting blue states rights and privileges to exist? Minorities see red states for their hatred, demoralization, and demonizing.

So your life experience tells you that most liberals are openly racist. And you came to this conclusion because you spend a lot of time with liberals?

My life experience tells me that most conservatives are racist. See how easy that is.

I read the linked CNN article. What I see that it says is it's  not that Dems are more racist, it's that they are hypocritical when it comes to their property values, and therefore NO DIFFERENT than the republicans.

Here is a really interesting article that tells you that the majority of Republicans don't believe there are problems when it comes to school segregation.

If that's the case, why do more blacks live in red states than blue states?

To be clear, I am not sure that is a fact. It is a very good question for those Black Americans who won't leave Red States. But, then you start noticing the 'pay-off' as the states begin to turn ever so softly (easingly) a purplish tinge.

I have often looked on in stone confusion at the poorest red state in the union for Black Americans is: Mississippi. I wonder each election cycle why those Blacks living and returning there do so. I conclude:

  1. It is their 'heritage' and they want to be have a stake in the land.
  2. White conservatives don't bother or vex them sufficiently individually.
  3. Some percentage of Blacks enjoy the relative simple, predictable, city and rural experiences.
  4. It is all some percentage of Black Americans have every truly lived or known.
  5. The above acknowledged, still does not say that Blacks in red states are in favor of the treatment extended to them willingly.

Is that more Backs per capita in red states than blue states? Not something I have taken time (or interest) to track or rundown.

BTW, opposites do attract. That is, Black Americans/people leave California to live on the East Coast or 'dirty' South for the duration of their lives. Vice-versa, Black Americans/people leave southern states and go West or North and never return for the duration.

Good question. Things that make (me) go hmm often.

Life is complex, eh? People move around. Cities 'flex.' And of course, ferreting out community racism and shining a light on it can be just the disinfectant that community needs to see/study its own ways! (I scanned your CNN article. It is a protracted read and I don't have that kind of time right now.)

Also, I am highly aware of some/those conservatives who 'weed out' these stories to get them added attention. That's fair. However, is this the 'norm' in Maryland state politics and attitudes or the exception?

I would have to delve on it to figure that out.

Hold on. Maybe some change is coming yet:

  • It is their 'heritage' and they want to be have a stake in the land.
  • White conservatives don't bother or vex them sufficiently individually.
  • Some percentage of Blacks enjoy the relative simple, predictable, city and rural experiences.
  • It is all some percentage of Black Americans have every truly lived or known.
  • The above acknowledged, still does not say that Blacks in red states are in favor of the treatment extended to them willingly.

You missed one...

They don't experience nearly as much racism as they do in white liberal dominated blue cities/states.

How would you know, are you 'immersed' in a red state, yes?  How do you know what life is actually like in a blue state? Don't be an opportunist. Put your facts out there for all to review.

(I don't know about you, but voter suppression is a racist move if it intended to 'castrate' minorities. Red states practice voter suppression. Its been proven in courts of law.)

A few weeks ago I dismissed this notion as ridiculous.   Tragically, I can no longer do so today.   Given the irrational, narcissistic actions of Trump since the election, I can see him talking trash (idle threats, bullshit, etc.) this way.   I still cannot imagine him being so irrational to force physically removing him from the premises, but who knows how low the man will go over the next month?

Now Donald is a wretched 'creature' pathetic and long-drawn out after the presidential 'disaster' which dethroned his unpresidential carcass. No one here is deeply obsessed with Donald. We just want him to go back to the private sector and give the bulk of us a break from a 'tyranny' of his presence (fake public service).

If Donald goes away quietly (ssshhh), maybe just may-=- be we can miss him. Now how about that?

Actually there are many Conservatives (of both parties) as well as lifelong Republicans who have been doing just that. In fact, I know a few personally.

Some such Republicans who want to take their party back from those with TDS ("Trump Deranged Syndrome") have joined together to form an organization called "The Lincoln Project". They have been airing ads before the Election.

Here's one such ad that aired before the Election:

Anybody who is causing hatred be it Anti-facist (ANTIFA) or Black Lives Matter (BLM) or Proud Boys and any individual besides is to be condemned. Mayhem and melees are uncivilized activities no matter the perpetrators.

On the other hand, it is pretty damn sick and pathetic for citizens to be reprobate, uncompromising, and recalcitrant in their policy-makings toward harmless others who not only will not but can not live as they do!

It takes two to 'tangle' for the good of the nation and all people of goodwill.

I do.

For some period of time every evening...and every day.

I need to...for work.

Many hours watching 5 channels in all!

MSNBC and CNBC. (Regular NBC news/opinion and Stock Market news).

Also both Fox channels-- regular news/opinion and Stock Market news.

The 5th channel I watch every day is Bloomberg market news/opinion.

Several hours each day (supplemented by hours on Internet news sites of all sorts. Some days I spend as much as 10 hours/day researching the Stock Market.

And not even once have I ever come across a report of a liberal 's head exploding.

(Or for that matter a conservative's head exploding...or even a Libertarian's head exploding)

I would also like to see them throw his belongings out on the lawn.

If that were to happen it would be a clear case of "What goes around comes around":

Since March, COVID-19 has caused millions to lose their jobs. Industries that once relied on in-person human contact have halted. Many people have had their work hours reduced, while still others became sick and had to quarantine, unable to work.

Caught in the middle of all of this: the rent.

The extreme income loss has caused community members to fall behind on their bills, and our federal, state and municipal governments have not provided adequate relief. Without rent forgiveness, and without encompassing eviction moratoriums, landlords have capitalized on this suffering and the already existing eviction crises occurring in our communities have become exacerbated.

Attempts at rental assistance and eviction moratoriums have been put in place that have lowered current eviction numbers, but they are not enough to solve the massive eviction problem. They are simply attempts at delaying inevitable crisis.

Organizers and activists in North Carolina have been doing the crucial work to defend our community members from eviction. In this ongoing crisis, some of the critical points of action organizers have been working on involve spreading information to tenants about their housing rights, utilizing relief methods, and organizing our communities against eviction. (Read it all)
