A possible October surprise
“These people today don’t know what a strike is,” Harold Daggett, the ILA’s fiery leader, said in a recent video post. “I’ll cripple you. I will cripple you.”

There is a major strike looming. The labor contract between the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) union representing 45,000 port workers and the United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) employer group will expire later today. The Union wants a hefty pay increase and limits on automation. A strike would affect all the ports on the east coast. As of right now no negotiations are taking place.

Such a strike could stop the flow of all kinds of commodities, jeopardizing jobs and stoking inflation weeks ahead of the U.S. presidential election. It is hard to believe that Joe Biden or the people around him are not working behind the scenes to settle the strike asap. Yesterday Biden said he did not intend to intervene to prevent a walkout if dock workers failed to secure a new contract. He mumbled something about not being a fan of the Taft-Hartley Act. In other words, he can't really go against the union, nor does he want to pressure the Maritime Alliance. That may be bad news for Kamala Harris.

Many of the big retail corporations have already ordered in Halloween and Christmas merchandise early to avoid any strike-related disruptions.

CNBC: What are you hearing will happen if dockworkers strike and it goes longer than a week?

Harris-Biden Commerce Sec. Gina Raimondo: "I have not been very focused on that."

In other news:

Israeli warplanes attacked power plants and shipping infrastructure in Yemen yesterday.

Helene has killed more than 90 people, including a woman in her 70s who rode motorcycles.

Prosecutors pursuing charges against Eric Adams, the New York City mayor, appear to have some solid evidence. Adams remains defiant.

California’s radical governor, Gavin Newsom, vetoed a major AI bill. It would have been the first in the U.S. to place strict guardrails on the technology.

Kamala Harris is trying to bait Donald Trump into debating her again. Meanwhile the Harris campaign is trying to contest the recent facts released by ICE.

Good morning.

Today our thoughts are with all those affected by Hurricane Helene.

FLAT ROCK, North Carolina, Sept 29 (Reuters) - The Southeastern U.S. began a huge cleanup and recovery effort on Sunday and the death toll climbed towards 100 after Hurricane Helene knocked out power for millions, destroyed roads and bridges and caused dramatic flooding from Florida to Virginia.

The storm's winds, rain and storm surge killed at least 90 people in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and Virginia, according to a Reuters tally of state and local officials.

Why is Kamal afraid to come onto Fox?

The answer....is that she won't have a sympathetic and supportive interviewer who will toss her softball questions and ignore her evasiveness. It is she who is the gutless coward.

If Biden administration doesn't get seriously involved in the upcoming strike by the ILA, it's likely to irreparably damage Harris' chances to win the election

About time.

If I'm not mistaken, this has been the first attack on Yemen by the Israelis.

However there have been British and American warships in that area for a while, and there was at least one attack on Yemen (I don't rememberthe details-- and I believe it was from the Americans but it might also haver been from the Brits). This was a while back (maybe March of this year-- perhaps even as early as January..?)

IIRC the mission of the British and American ships (In the Red Sea- - between Yemen and Israel) is two fold:

1. Shoot down any missiles and drones launched from Yemen to Israel)

2. Protect commercial ships (both freighters and tankers) from Asia that nornally would take the "shortcut" from Asia to Europe through the Suez Canal).

If that route is unsafe, the boats are forced to take the long route--via The Cape of Good Hope (all the way around Africa!). A much longer and more expensive voyage.

Biden and Harris call the Israeli strike killing Hezbollah’s Nasrallah a 'measure of justice'

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. --   The Israeli strike that killed Hezbollah’s    Hassan Nasrallah    was a “measure of justice" for victims of a four-decade “reign of terror,” President Joe Biden said Saturday.

The comments came after Lebanon’s Hezbollah group   confirmed earlier Saturday   that Nasrallah, one of the group’s founders, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut the previous day.

Biden noted that the operation to take out Nasrallah took place in the broader context of the conflict that began with Hamas’ massacre of Israelis on Oct. 7, 2023.

“Nasrallah, the next day, made the fateful decision to join hands with Hamas and open what he called a ‘northern front’ against Israel,” Biden said in a statement.

He also noted that Hezbollah under Nasrallah’s watch has been responsible for the deaths of thousands of Americans, Israelis and Lebanese.

Joe Biden’s Message To North Carolina Flood Victims: Drop Dead

President Joe Biden, who waited until after his restful   Rehoboth Beach, Delaware,   weekend   to personally weigh in on the ongoing disaster, called the calamity “tragic” but failed to offer any further condolences or aid.

In fact, when a reporter asked the president if he had “any words to the victims of the hurricane,” Biden acted like his   approval of Gov. Roy Cooper’s requested disaster declaration   would be enough to sustain the state’s rescue and cleanup efforts as well their spirits.

This one killed me:

“We’ve given them all — everything we have,” Biden stammered after chasing a rabbit about the differences in how Federal Emergency Management Agency and local officials measure the toll of natural disasters.

But they made sure Ukraine got billions of taxpayer dollars.  Billions that the area could be using to clean up and rebuild.

Donald Trumps says, specifically, that Kamala Harris let 13,000 murderers into the country. That is an absolute lie. So will you condemn Trump for this obvious lying?

Harris ran for the Democratic nomination for president between January and December 2019. Mired in sixth place, she dropped out of the race on Dec. 3, 2019, meaning she never made it to the Iowa caucuses or any other contest in which Democrats voted for a candidate. Her biggest moment was a debate in which she accused rival Joe Biden of racism. After that, it was downhill all the way.

In that campaign,  Harris favored decriminalizing illegal border crossings. She also favored taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegal immigrants. She favored sanctuary cities. She would have expanded the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program and given “deportation relief” to millions of people in the United States illegally. At the same time, she opposed virtually everything then-President Donald Trump did to secure the border, from strengthening physical barriers on the border to the “Remain in Mexico” program to detention and expulsion of illegal border crossers.

In other words,  Harris proposed doing what the Biden administration would later do, which is increase the incentives — the magnet — for people to cross illegally into the U.S. while tying the hands of law enforcement to stop, or at least greatly decrease, the flow of illegal crossers.

The Biden Administration Is on Pace to Match Trump Deportation Numbers

The Biden administration took office amid heightened debate in some circles over the merits and tactics of deportations, yet it is on track to carry out as many removals and returns as the Trump administration did. The 1.1 million deportations since the beginning of fiscal year (FY) 2021 through February 2024 (the most recent data available) are on pace to match the 1.5 million deportations carried out during the four years President Donald Trump was in office. These deportations are in addition to the 3 million expulsions of migrants crossing the border irregularly that occurred under the pandemic-era Title 42 order between March 2020 and May 2023—the vast majority of which occurred under the Biden administration. Combining deportations with expulsions and other actions to block migrants without permission to enter the United States, the Biden administration’s nearly 4.4 million repatriations are already more than any single presidential term since the George W. Bush administration (5 million in its second term).

Although nothing about this is funny.

Some of those 13,000 entered WHILE he was president.

Let me get this straight.

ICE came out with statistics which include 13,000 convicted murderers entering our country.

Then Homeland Security (Mayorkas & Co) runs right out and clarifies that those people entered under various administrations.

I wouldn't blame those who came to the wrong conclusion with the initial limited disclosures.

I will blame Homeland Security for not providing all of this information before ICE finally did.

Do you define 'fair' the same way Trump does ... only fair if he wins?

Walz never called Harris "reprehensible", "idiot" or "cultural heroin" or claim that he was a never-Harris guy like Vance's  “never-Trump guy.”

Or:

“back and forth between thinking Trump is a cynical a–hole like Nixon who wouldn’t be that bad (and might even prove useful) or that he’s America’s Hitler.”

And he never wrote an op-ed about Harris like J.D. Vance did about Trump in 2016:

"It enters minds, not through lungs or veins, but through eyes and ears, and its name is Donald Trump."
"Trump’s promises are the needle in America’s collective vein."
-- J.D. Vance

How exactly does one go from comparing Trump to Hitler to joining the Trump cult as his top sycophant?   And Walz never put forth nutty views such as "childless cat ladies" or that parents without children have a less-vested interest in the USA and should not have as much say as those with children.   And then of course we have the insanity of claiming immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, were eating the pets of their neighbors because he heard this from some of his constituents.

And then we have Project 2025:

Vance has deep ties to the Heritage Foundation, and  in particular  to Kevin Roberts, who has been president of the right-wing think tank since 2021 and is  the architect  of Project 2025. Vance has  praised  Roberts for helping to turn the organization “into the de facto institutional home of Trumpism” and has  endorsed elements  of Project 2025. Vance is also the author of the foreword to Roberts’s upcoming book,  Dawn’s Early Light ,  which  The New Republic  has obtained in full even though the book’s publisher, HarperCollins’s Broadside Books, has apparently tried to suppress it amid the scrutiny of Project 2025 and Vance’s ties to Roberts.

I would rather be Walz than Vance.

I use the standard definition that was in place before there were Trump haters who suddenly can't acknowledge facts.

FAIR: impartial and just, without favoritism or discrimination.

Were the ABC moderators "fair?"  That shouldn't be a hard question.

There are many other examples. Most notable would be all the lawfare launched against candidate Trump. Trump has even been convicted of things which have to wait until after the election for an appeals court to render a decision on.

Here is one:

"A civil lawsuit in New York found former President Donald Trump guilty  of financial fraud by misrepresenting property values to lenders and tax officials. The trial  resulted  in a court order for the defendants to repay $364 million. In March 2024, the New York Appellate Division reduced the defendants' bond from $464 million to $175 million. An appeal hearing is currently underway with a decision expected after the November election.

Knewz.com  is reporting that a recent hearing took place regarding Trump's appeal to overturn the judgment. During the hearing, appeals court judges raised doubts about the legitimacy of the civil fraud case against him."

Appeal Judges Raise Doubt In AG Letitia James’ Trump Case (msn.com)

We argued about the legitimacy of these cases right here on NT. You seemed very content with such abuses. So, there is no longer a need for discussion on that matter.

As for a comparison between a far left radical who was very slow to respond to the 2020 riots, and has a record of providing protections for gender-affirming healthcare and allowing 55,000 formerly incarcerated residents to vote to a self-made man who actually served in combat and graduated from Yale Law School before becoming a venture Capitalist, I'll take the self-made guy every time.

I'd rather be Vance than Walz.

Were the ABC moderators "fair?"  That shouldn't be a hard question.

They were clearly fair.   Trump was lying his ass off the entire debate.   The fact that he was fact checked only four times is a testament to their restraint ( ):

Executing Babies

The first fact-check arrived during a discussion on abortion. Trump falsely claimed that a former governor of West Virginia was in favor of legalizing "execution" of babies after they are born, while also falsely claiming that Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz has said "execution after birth is OK." After Trump finished speaking, ABC News debate moderator Linsey Davis pushed back by correctly pointing out that "there is no state in this country where it is legal to kill a baby after it's born."

Illegal Immigrants Eating Pets

During a discussion on immigration, Trump was fact-checked by co-moderator David Muir after repeating a false viral claim about illegal immigrants abducting and "eating the pets of the people that live" in Springfield, Ohio.

"I just want to clarify here, you bring up Springfield, Ohio, and ABC News did contact the city manager there," Muir said. "He told us they had no credible reports of pets or specific claims of pets being harmed, injured or abused by individuals in the immigrant community."

Trump objected to Muir's fact-check, arguing that the baseless claim was true because he had "seen people on television" making the claim, before suggesting that the denial was "a good thing to say for a city manager."

Crime Rates Through the Roof

Muir fact-checked Trump again minutes later after the former president claimed that crime rates are "through the roof" but down in the rest of the world. "President Trump, as you know, the   FBI   says that overall violent crime is actually coming down in this country," Muir said, prompting Trump to claim that the FBI statistics are "defrauding statements."

2020 Election was Rigged

Muir fact-checked Trump one more time, after the former president falsely claimed that there was "so much proof" that he did not legitimately lose to President Joe Biden in the 2020 election. "We should just point out here as clarification ... 60 cases in front of many judges, many of them Republican, looked at it and said there was no widespread fraud," Muir said.

Trump and his supporters are whining because Trump clearly lost the debate.    Typical Trump, he never admits failure and routinely projects his failings onto others.

You seemed very content with such abuses.

My position, since you apparently either did not get it or choose to misrepresent it, is that I do not care about the trials of private citizen Trump any more than any other wrongdoer.   Further, Trump has a long history of fraud.   He is a con-artist, a scoundrel.   It does not surprise me in the least that he was found liable and if the fine was excessive the appeals court will moderate.   The system will basically work.

But, as I have stated repeatedly, I care about the wrongdoings of Trump while PotUS .

Finally, Joe Biden had nothing to do with this.   More conspiracy theory crap.

As for a comparison between a far left radical who was very slow to respond to the 2020 riots, ...

Partisan spin regarding a complex situation.

.... and has a record of providing protections for gender-affirming healthcare ...

Interesting that you find this to be a bad thing.

... and allowing 55,000 formerly incarcerated residents to vote ...

The state of Minnesota (through normal legislation) joined 21 other states to allow voting upon release even while on probation or parole.

... to a self-made man who actually served in combat and graduated from Yale Law School before becoming a venture Capitalist, I'll take the self-made guy every time.

That is it?   Those are your top objections to Walz???   You have nothing better than that?

Yes it is quite odd that someone with Vance's credentials would so outrageously contradict his prior statements about Trump ( "reprehensible", "idiot", "cultural heroin", "like Hitler", etc.  ) and become the top sycophant in the Trump cult.

Truly strange for such an individual to put forth nutty, chauvinistic views such as "childless cat ladies" or that parents without children have a less-vested interest in the USA and should not have as much say as those with children.   Or the insanity of claiming immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, were eating the pets of their neighbors because he heard this from some of his constituents.   And of course support for Project 2025.

Vance has indeed shown that he has a twisted perception of reality and is a pure opportunist.

In contrast, Walz is a down-to-Earth, genuine individual who will indeed work for the people.

Maryland Question 1 would establish a right to reproductive freedom

Maryland’s Right to Reproductive Freedom Amendment would add a new section to the Declaration of Rights in the Maryland Constitution.

Max Gulker
Senior Policy Analyst
September 24, 2024
  Summary

Maryland Question 1, the   Right to Reproductive Freedom Amendment , would add a new section to the Declaration of Rights in the Maryland Constitution establishing a right to reproductive freedom in the state:

That every person, as a central component of an individual’s rights to liberty and equality, has the fundamental right to reproductive freedom, including but not limited to the ability to make and effectuate decisions to prevent, continue, or end one’s own pregnancy. The state may not, directly or indirectly, deny, burden, or abridge the right unless justified by a compelling state interest achieved by the least restrictive means.

Fiscal Impact

There is   no fiscal impact   on the state from this measure.

Proponents’ Arguments

Arguments in favor of the amendment come from advocates of abortion rights and are targeted to pro-choice Maryland voters who oppose the U.S. Supreme Court’s   Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Clinic   decision. State polling shows   64%   approval for legal abortion in Maryland in all or most cases. Most of the state’s prominent Democrat leaders and organizations support the amendment, including Gov. Wes Moore, Lt. Gov Adrienne Jones, Common Cause Maryland, Pro-Choice Maryland, and major labor unions.

Proponents argue that while abortion rights are already a part of Maryland law, enshrining them in the state constitution would add another layer of protection. In a   statement , Common Cause Maryland said, “”As reproductive rights are being eroded across the country, the General Assembly must act affirmatively to ensure that all Marylanders have the fundamental right to reproductive liberty, regardless of what the Supreme Court or any other state determines.”

Sharon Blugis, interim executive director of Pro-Choice Maryland,   further highlights   the public-health and social implications of abortion rights:

Access to safe, legal, and accessible abortion and reproductive health care is not only a moral imperative, but it also has enormous social, economic, and health benefits to individuals, families, and communities. Bans and restrictions on abortion and reproductive care harm pregnant people with particular impact on people of color, inappropriately interfere in the trusted doctor-patient relationship, are linked to negative maternal health outcomes, and serve an agenda that would have all pregnancy outcomes scrutinized, controlled, and criminalized.

Former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, the Republican U.S. Senate candidate in November,   has signaled to voters   his overall support of abortion rights and opposition to the Supreme Court’s overturning of   Roe.   His campaign-trail comments on abortion have focused on the national questions he would face in Washington, but he pledged to Maryland voters that he would not support a national legislative abortion ban.

Opponents’ Arguments

Socially conservative organizations and clergy lead the opposition to the Maryland amendment. In addition to general opposition to the extra layer of constitutional projection, opponents have focused on the potential for the amendment to protect late-term abortions, currently restricted under Maryland law.

The Maryland Catholic Conference   wrote that   the amendment “would establish a fundamental right to reproductive freedom and would enshrine abortion, at any stage, into our State Constitution. We believe that every person is created in the image and likeness of God and all life should be protected and respected from conception to natural death.”

Maryland doctor   Frank Arlinghaus said , “Amending the Maryland Constitution is an unusual and extreme measure, and this bill would take an extreme position on abortion, restricting the legislature’s opportunities to pass reasonable restrictions on abortion in late pregnancy or to restrict it as other healthcare.”

Discussion

Abortion in Maryland is currently legal until the point of fetal viability, with exceptions for the health of the mother after viability.

Like several other state initiatives in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court’s May 2022   Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Clinic   decision overturning   Roe vs. Wade , the Maryland ballot measure seeks to further protect abortion rights already written into law by enshrining them in the state constitution. In 2022 and 2023, voters in four states (California, Vermont, Michigan, and Ohio) passed similar measures, while voters in three other states (Kansas, Kentucky, and Montana) defeated measures that would have restricted abortion rights. Maryland is one of at least six states with abortion-related measures on the 2024 ballot.

The Right to Reproductive Freedom Amendment is legislatively referred, meaning it was   passed   by Maryland’s state Senate and House with 60% supermajorities before being put to voters. Both chambers passed the measure, with near-unanimous support from majority Democrats and unanimous opposition from Republicans.

Many ballot initiatives require the informed voter to familiarize themselves with details of fiscal policy and regulation that are not usually at the forefront of political debate, and on which voters may not have strong opinions when walking into the voting booth.   Maryland’s Right to Reproductive Freedom Amendment   is just the opposite. Most voters nationwide already have pro-choice or pro-life views–often firmly held–and will vote on the measure according to those views.

The Maryland amendment is widely expected to pass.   Polling data shows   Maryland clearly in the pro-choice camp.

If passed, this amendment would change Maryland law on abortion in two ways. First, it would enshrine Maryland’s clear cut abortion rights in the state constitution, making it far more difficult for future legislatures to reverse or restrict them. Second, it would ostensibly provide the same protections to abortions after the point of fetal viability, currently allowed under state law only in very limited circumstances.

The latter reflects a   pattern   in post- Dobbs   state ballot initiatives protecting abortion rights. Solidly blue or pro-choice states have passed (California and Vermont) or will vote this year (Maryland and New York) on measures offering wider abortion protections and not mentioning the issue of fetal viability. States with voters more divided on abortion, such as Missouri, Colorado, and South Dakota, face initiatives allowing for restrictions on abortion rights after viability or some other point during pregnancy. The latter approach is more consistent with the precedent set down in   Roe , while the former approach offers more protections for mothers’ choices.

Maryland’s pro-life voters strongly oppose both changes to state law described above, and are likely, as in other states, to vote against the amendment in overwhelming numbers.

Pro-choice voters will heavily favor the extra protections on abortion rights overall, but may be divided to some degree on the amendment’s extension of protections to abortion rights after fetal viability.   Polling typically shows   many voters who identify as pro-choice and oppose   Dobbs   but also favor restrictions in some cases, including the length of the pregnancy and viability.

Some basic facts may add useful perspective.   Over 99%   of abortions occur before the 24th week of pregnancy, the most common estimate of fetal viability. The vast majority of the less than 1% of abortions happening after viability are motivated by the mother’s health or fetal anomalies. Many   such procedures   are medical emergencies where time is of the essence. Bans on late-term abortions, or protections requiring often-subjective circumstances can and in some instances have cost critically needed time.

Do you think that that should also be applied to the Republicans as well?

Sadly, the hypocritical Republicans imagine all sorts of illegal voting for Democrats that they have been claiming for years yet haven't been able to prove ANY widespread voter fraud other than that perpetrated by Republicans. Republicans are the ones trying to intimidate voters at polling locations. Republicans are the ones caught trying to vote multiple times or submitting dead relatives' votes.

Robert Rivernider Jr., a Republican Party activist and Donald Trump supporter , was charged by the state in Sumter County with 3 felony counts forgery of public records, fraud in connection with casting a vote, and passing a counterfeit instrument after submitting an absentee ballot that was not his own during the 2020 General Election. Rivernider forged his deceased father's signature on an absentee ballot and mailed it in.

Joan Halstead, 72, of the Village of Palo Alto is facing a felony charge of fraud .   A document on file in Sumter County Court indicates she cast a 2020 general election ballot on Oct. 20, 2020 in person in Sumter County. She also cast a second ballot in New York by absentee . She is a registered Republican .

Jay Richard Ketcik, 63, who lives at 5564 Henry Loop in the Village of Monarch Grove, is also facing a charge of voter fraud.  The Manistique, Mich. native cast a ballot in Florida by mail on Oct. 13 . He also cast a second ballot in Michigan via absentee ballot , according to an arrest report.  He is a registered Republican.

Diana Watt was charged by the state with one felony count of attempt to influence a public servant, one misdemeanor count of perjury , and one misdemeanor count of tampering with nominating papers after submitting fraudulent signatures for a candidate ballot petition in the 2022 Republican primary for the 7th congressional district. Watt was a circulator with the Oregon-based firm Grassfire LLC, which was paid to gather the required 1,500 signatures for Republican candidate Carl Andersen to qualify for the ballot. Watt submitted petitions with the forged signatures of voters, including deceased voters and voters who had moved out of state prior to the petition being circulated. She pleaded guilty.

Jordahni Rimpel was charged by the state with one felony count of attempt to influence a public servant and one misdemeanor count of perjury after submitting fraudulent signatures for a Republican candidate ballot petition in the 2022 Republican primary for the 7th congressional district.

Louis Palmieri was charged by the state in Brevard County with one felony count of false swearing in voting or elections and one felony count of unqualified elector willfully voting in the 2020 election. Palmieri, who registered as a Republican , was a convicted felon for lewd behavior with a child under 16 and his right to vote had not been restored.

Brian Pritchard, a First Vice Chair of the Republican state party , was sanctioned by the Georgia State Board of Elections for voting at least 9 times while ineligible from 2008 to 2010.

Leslie Jackson, of Barren County, was charged by the state with one felony count of wrongful registration after her participation in a conspiracy by the Jackson family to bribe voters or obtain blank ballots from registered voters to help elect James "Darrell" Jackson, a Monroe County Constable, to the position of Monroe County Jailor, during the 2022 Republican primary election. The fraud was uncovered after a tip was submitted to the Attorney General's Election Fraud Hotline. Jackson pleaded guilty.

Mary Jackson, of Tompkinsville was charged by the state with one felony count of engaging in organized crime, one felony count of second degree forgery, and six felony counts of making or receiving expenditures for voting after her participation in a conspiracy by the Jackson family to bribe voters or obtain blank ballots from registered voters to help elect James "Darrell" Jackson, a Monroe County Constable, to the position of Monroe County Jailor during the 2022 Republican primary election.

James "Darrell" Jackson, a Monroe County Constable, was charged by the state with one felony count of engaging in organized crime and 5 felony counts of making or receiving expenditures for voting after participating in a conspiracy by the Jackson family scheme to bribe voters or obtain blank ballots from registered voter during the 2022 Republican primary election

David Cole, a Republican member of the Alabama House of Representatives from the 10th District, was charged by the state with one felony count of false registration after falsely claiming he resided in Alabama’s 10th state house district during the 2022 Primary and General Election . He also voted in 2022 in the 10th district even though he lived in District 4. Just before filing, Cole entered into a $5-per-month lease at a home in District 10, which he never occupied.

So, to all the self-righteous conservative Republican Trump supporters, how about you don't  try to interfere in the election and you won't be called out for it.

Talk about vomit inducing.  Just like when the predator and rapist said he was the protector of women.

plus, like you, 'l'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints' though not today's republicons, so many of them are a bunch of weirdos.  I don't like their idea of fun.

Hades is where all the interesting people go, I doubt there is any repartee up in the 'penthouse' of ennui.

That said, you are a day late, Michaelmas falls on my birthday, the 29th. If you are orthodox on Nov. 8th, the day I was baptized.

Marxist Professor: This prayer is terrifying

I have had friends of various political views-- over the years even a few Marxists! And many of the self-proclaimed Marxists believed in God.

(You're comment is an over-generalization... just because you might know about something is not absolute proof it doesn't exist).

Why are you are posting fake news?

Trump and Musk's union-busting joke wasn't funny to the UAW

Story by James Ochoa

Trump and Musk's union gaffe

After an aside where Musk offered a helping hand on a hypothetical government commission on spending during their intensely long live-streamed conversation, the duo briefly discussed labor unions and workers who walk off the job to go on strike.

Here, Trump heavily praised Musk's attitudes toward labor strikes, even blessing him with a signature Trump-style nickname: "the greatest cutter."

" I look at what you do . You walk in, you say, 'You want to quit?' They go on strike."

"I won’t mention the name of the company, but they go on strike, and you say, 'That’s okay, you’re all gone. You’re all gone. So, every one of you is gone.'"
