“"The state of Oregon has effectively shut down small farms and market gardens on a large scale, and they're actually sending out cease-and-desist...”
The state of Oregon is shutting down family farms When I saw the headline I thought it was a satirical political article. Family farms lived on and managed by families for generations are at stake Where will the food produced by these farms replaced from, huge corporat co-ops that will charge...

““You’ll hear a lot of commentary that government ‘hasn’t done jack for me,’” Cotton said.”
The stock market is doing well. Inflation is high, but not as high as it has been. Gas Prices are going up, the real estate market is a bit unsteady again Unemployment is down But what about the cost of groceries, the cost of rent, the cost of day care, the cost of fuel for the car

I miss the happiness, the innocence and the adventure of my childhood. I miss the America I grew up in! There is nothing political about this longing, but rather a statement on the cost of the progress, the changes to our psyche and our hearts and what we are missing out on in the 21st century....

““I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to...”
The articles, discussions and blogs tend to be serious and controversial (not all thank goodness) and people always seem angry with each other. Comments and discussions lack civility and that seems to be the norm. So for a change - talk about something that makes you happy, share pictures of...

“U.S. corporate bankruptcy filings touched a 13-year high in 2023, as elevated interest rates and sticky inflation hit the companies.", Reuters y...”
There seems to be at least some correlation between the cities on this list (seven of ten) facing bankruptcy concerns in that they are democratic party strongholds and sanctuary cities for the most part. Understand that correlation is not causation - it certainly gives one pause.
