Trump's threat of tariffs succeed

After 3 days of intense negotiations the US and Mexico have reached an agreement, which will include returning migrants seeking asylum to Mexico.
Mexico will deploy their national guard troops along their southern border, increase actions to dismantle human trafficking operations, and take extra steps to coordinate with the American government to share information. More details are to be released on this developing story.
"I am pleased to inform you that The United States of America has reached a signed agreement with Mexico. The Tariffs scheduled to be implemented by the U.S. on Monday, against Mexico, are hereby indefinitely suspended"....Donald Trump.
It appears that all the US gives up are the proposed tariffs. It's too bad that such desperate measures were necessary, but the US is fortunate to have a President with the guts to take action, despite the obstruction of congress & the courts.

This is yet another victory for Donald J Trump and a Home Run for the American people
Thanks for seeding this. I was going to seed an actual article promoting this victory yesterday but saw this as new so went another direction. This is a great win for America and ultimately for Mexico too.
So if this is such a victory, why did Trump get rid of Neilson? She announced the Migrant Protection Protocols just before Christmas of LAST YEAR. Oh and Mexico pledged the National Guard deployment in March, BEFORE Trump's threat of tariffs.
Talk about a hoax.

Well Done!
Trump's threat of tariffs succeeds? Succeeds at what? And for whom, really?
It appears that Mexico has agreed to , uh, something. I'll look at it when someone more reliable than Trump and his administration explains what it is.
I will have to wait and see what is finally announced the agreement is , wonder if what I read a couple days ago will be in it?
what I read was that those seeking asylum will have to apply in the first country they step foot in leaving the country they are fleeing. it will be interesting to see what actually fleshes out .
With this maladministration what's announced is almost never how things really turn out. You'll have to wait longer than just hearing the announcement for that.
Well, both sides are talking to each other and saying publicly that they've agreed, so that's something. That's more than we were getting before, so I think we have to concede that the tariff threat had the desired effect. Only time will tell if what they agreed to is effective.
Agreed. Mexico has taken some good first steps with concrete actions. The initial view is this is a good thing. Time will tell on how it all works out. Glad they came to an agreement.
Correct. If Mexico fails to live up to its end of the deal, the 5% tariff goes back into effect followed by 10% ... etc. ... until it satisfactorily meets our goals. The cartels that control Mexico's government don't have a choice.
"The Trump administration had previously pushed for Mexico to accept a so-called “safe third country” agreement, under which Central Americans traveling north through its territory would be eligible to apply for asylum in Mexico, but not the United States.
Ebrard on Tuesday told reporters that U.S. officials had not brought up the proposal, which they knew to be a red line for Mexico, but a version of the safe third country agreement eventually became a central part of negotiations.
The deal nonetheless represents a sweeping expansion of the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) program, also known as “remain in Mexico,” whereby Central American migrants who claim asylum in the United States are returned to Mexico while their asylum cases are heard in U.S. immigration courts."
Trump Folded...
Fact is that the hard core progressive liberals are frothing at the mouth at the very thought that President Trump accomplished something his Democrat predecessors were unable or unwilling to. I look forward to it being implemented.
Oh, like Maxine Waters?
Chuck Schumer, the Senate's idiot counterpart to Maxine Waters, said ...
Not only that, he defeated our American progressives who refused to do immigration reform. Now the problem will be dealt with where they and Obama appointed liberal judges have no power. They can’t say that what Mexico is now doing with in their borders is against our constitution as it applies here. If Mexico prevents many of those Central American invaders from entering their country, they keep them out of ours as well.
I can't believe this is said with a straight face. This had nothing to do with Trump's tariffs on Mexico. Its all a face saving to shut the moron up because the gop can't support the damaging tariffs.
once again our president stays tough, America wins, and the left whines and mocks what they can’t understand
thank you Mr President for not caving to the left or the Establishment Republicans
He's turning out to be a good leader, and he's taking us in the right direction.
The bottom line here. Well said.
Does that mean he pulled it out of his ass.......
. I am so glad you're back CeeFerPeee.
Yeah, Cadet Bonespurs is one tough hombre....or should I say baaaaad hombre.
You just pissed cuz your guy couldn't get it done.
When did Bubba Billy or Baraq serve in the US military.
So you're putting your Shitbag into the group of other presidents you love to hate.....oh, well done as always, Greg. Where did you serve in military, Greg? You must have been of prime age during those draft years if you voted for Eisenhower
Typical for the rightwing: declare victory before the game is over.
Well, that shouldn't matter to you much because the Left keeps claiming the game doesn't even exist.
I have the foggiest idea what you could mean by that but Tex seems to get it so it must be some kind of secret rightwing code. You two have fun working it out together, mkay?
Trump’s border crisis is disingenuous, nonexistent, say Dems as they tour border facilities
David Gergen: There's No Border Emergency, It's A Fake And Everybody Knows It
Dem Rep. Ben Ray Lujan: The Only Crisis On The Southern Border Was Created By Trump
Democrats pretend border crisis doesn't exist
But meanwhile, back in the real world, records are being approached/set/broken:
Border Patrol Says Group of More Than 1,000 Migrants in Texas Is Largest It Has Encountered
Southwest Border Migration FY 2019
Monthly border apprehensions reach highest level since 2007
Then, I can't wait for you to give it a try.
Haha Best tweet in a while. So this is victory? I guess it is a done deal then. We can move on to other things.
All just smoke and mirrors, a game Trump like to plays to make it look like he plays hard ball with our allies. And of course, his sheeple buys it lock stock and barrel and no questions asked.
The fact is, Mexico agreed to take border actions months before Trump announced threatened tariffs against Mexico. Some people will swallow anything they are fed about Trump.
It's so comforting to read anonymous "facts" from NYT and MSN.
I know....facts that are anything that does not come from Fox News is hard to swallow for those who choose to ignore them.
Carry on......no interest here.
Everything is fake to them except, ironically, everything that comes out of their dear leaders mouth.
Agree. Common sense does not seem to grow in many Republican gardens these days. But, like weeds, Trump's lies grow profusely and readily accepted by his minions.
BS, and more BS. Mexico said they would do this in March, and it is now June. Why aren't the troops already deployed? Politicians saying they will do something is one thing. Getting them to do it is another. Are you saying it takes 4 plus months; because they aren't even started yet, to get troops ready and deployed. I know Mexico's military sucks, but come on.
Love the BS. Now it is something before Christmas that Mexico still hasn't enacted.
Negotiations are still ongoing. So Trump didn't get the last part done. He is getting Mexico to act now; instead of sitting around and doing nothing. Much like our worthless Congress.
Love the way the left believes anything anti Trump that comes out of someone pie hole. Facts be damn. Talk is better than action in leftist land.
I love how some believe trump, who cannot tell truth from fiction.
So where are the other 5,000? Why are we having to pull border patrol, border crossing agents, and ICE, to handle the thousands of asylum seekers crossing our border every day?
When in doubt believe anything anti Trump.
Really sad when people only believe trump. He backed himself into a corner and squirmed his way out.
There has been given a lot of money to hire border agents. Why does he not streamline the process and make hiring more a priority?
Oh yeah, then they couldn't complain and blame others...
Perhaps because in March, there was NO Mexican National Guard. They JUST passed a change in their Constitution to CREATE one. I'd guess it's taking them a while to gear up...
BTFW, if Mexico hasn't kept it's promises, why did Trump just let them out from under tariffs AFTER they've reneged already.
How would you know what is from CNN unless you watch them. I am sure they thank you for the ratings.
Coming from you I will stick to what I know. At least I can type a coherent, grammatical sentence.
Something that should have been learned by middle school.
Yours even have a comma.
And I love how the right will believe anything and everything Trump says no matter how big a lie it is, or who he denigrates for his own self-adulation.
Looks like Trump is not the only one who is looking stupid, as his minions will defend him no matter how big a lie he tells.
You obviously do, as you spread enough of it yourself here.
Oh wait, it would have been except Obama sent US forces back into Iraq- after Bush signed a SOFA for their removal. So Bush did accomplish his mission; Obama chose to restart Iraq. Of course Obama, and now Trump, are supporting a government loyal to Iran in Iraq. You can't make this shit up.
Don't worry- some of us are smart enough to blame Bush Jr, Obama, and now Trump for keeping troops in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria. Our foreign policy is stuck on stupid; at least some of us are willing to admit it.
As for Trump's deal with Mexico. Outside of little Chucky Schumer, I have seen no one state this solves the border problem. This is just the first step in negotiations; which is more than past presidents have accomplished. Trump will need to keep the pressure on Mexico to make sure they follow through.
I heard Nancy Pelosi has grand ideas for fixing immigration and smuggling problems at ports of entry. Time for her to get off her ass and get that bill done.
It is time for Congress to put our money where their mouth's have been. Of course anything that will benefit the US as a whole they are completely against. Nancy and little Chucky are all talk, no action. If Trump stated he would sign Pelosi's bill she and little Chucky would be soundly against it. Claiming, "There is no problem, and it is a waste of US taxpayer monery." McConnell is acting like the President is a Democrat; so he is no better.
Vic, it would seem that you forgot to include the second part of Trump's tweet.
I am pleased to inform you that The United States of America has reached a signed agreement with Mexico. The Tariffs scheduled to be implemented by the U.S. on Monday, against Mexico, are hereby indefinitely suspended. Mexico, in turn, has agreed to take strong measures to...
..stem the tide of Migration through Mexico, and to our Southern Border. This is being done to greatly reduce, or eliminate, Illegal Immigration coming from Mexico and into the United States.
Great news! Since the problems will be greatly reduced or eliminated, we don't need a $20,000,000,000 wall.
