Scientists from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev have made a potentially revolutionary discovery regarding the biological function of an anti-cancer peptide as a protein kinase inhibitor.

Peptides are short chains of amino acids linked by peptide bonds. Long molecules made of peptide units are what we known as proteins, and protein kinases are enzymes that can change a protein’s function. The researchers’ discovery, which focused on a naturally occurring peptide from the non-coding region of mRNA, could greatly contribute to how we treat cancer in the future.

MRNA, or messenger ribonucleic acid, plays many key roles in human biology, including coding for proteins that each have different functions. Around 40% of mRNA in a particular region contains sequences that code for short peptides, though until recently scientists believed the region was what’s referred to as “non-coding,” and did not know if the short peptides had a function.

In their research, the scientists were able to isolate and confirm that one of the short peptides acts as a kinase inhibitor, meaning it inhibits the progression of cancer between the stages of cancer cell development through metastasis. Proteins send signals to cells that provide them with certain instructions, and the researchers from BGU proved for the first time that the inhibitors were able to block messages carried by the kinase telling cancer cells to divide.

"Clearly demonstrating the role of this peptide is just the tip of the iceberg," explains Etta Livneh, professor and member of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Ben Gurion University. "Now that we know that at least some peptides have a biological function, we can begin to discover the roles of many more."

I really don't know why Israel shares its amazing discoveries and breakthroughs with an antisemitic Jew-hating world that demonizes it through a biased media and a United Nations that annually passes resolutions critical of it and governments that consistently deny its legitimacy.

Anoon Buzz...because Israel never has worried about what other countries think. They do what they say and don't give a stuff..and get on with it. And yes they are happy to share info and break throughs etc and they expect the usual critisim... they don't seem to lose any sleep over it.

One of the reasons we back them to the hilt and always have... regardless of what other countries think of that..and yes we will come to their aid if push comes to shove.

As a matter of interest where does China sit with Israel?? Never hear what their opinion is but I would think they will be a long the lines of huge dislike for them??

It's one of the things that I dislike about the Chinese government and its media puppets - they side with the Palestinians.  You have to take into consideration the amount of oil they get from Iran.

This is an example of what I'm talking about....

WATCH: Time Magazine Gives Cover to Anti-Israel Propaganda Photo In Its Top 100 Photos of 2021 Issue .
2021 had no shortage of major news stories, whether the insurrection of the U.S. capitol in Washington, the ongoing Covid pandemic, or the American pullout from Afghanistan, but despite these major news stories, a recent Time Magazine issue profiling 100 top news photos of the year, featured on its front cover a likely staged and crude anti-Israel propaganda image. In fact, three of the 100 images selected by Time Magazine editors were anti-Israel.
.
In a year of so many important news stories, it was shameful that Time Magazine, a publication with a large Canadian and U.S. readership, chose to single out Israel for exclusive censure and condemnation.

Well, I guess just like those who would rather die from the virus than get a jab or wear a mask, it appears that the same mentality extends to not giving a shit about a possible cure for cancer.

I think this is an amazing discovery. I would assume that some of this might have come out of research with mRNA and the vaccines. It would be great if this was the turning point with a cure for cancer.

It really would be great. "Curtain comes down" and many still standing on the 'living' side! YAY!

That was not the ONLY thing...

Subject: What Israeli Medicine is Working on ABSOLUTELY Phenomenal....READ ON

The Israelis do not make islands in the shape of palm trees,
towering skyscrapers, expensive hotels, nor do their leaders use cars
with massive silver bodies (allusion to Dubai and the United Arab
    Emirates).

The pride of Israel is that its technologies will be able to be used
    by all humanity:

    1. Tel Aviv University is developing a nasal vaccine that will protect
    people from Alzheimer's and stroke.

    2. The Technion, Institute of Technology (Haifa), has developed a
simple blood test capable of detecting different types of cancer.

    3. The Ichlov Center (Tel Aviv) isolated a protein that makes
colonoscopy unnecessary to detect colon cancer, with a simple blood
test. Colon cancer kills about 500,000 people annually.

    4. Acne doesn't kill, but does cause anxiety in teens. The Curlight
Laboratory has created a cure. Emitting UV rays at high intensity,
kills the bacteria that cause acne.

    5. The Given Imaging Laboratory has developed a tiny camera in the
form of swallowed pills and transmits thousands of photos of the
digestive tract. These high-quality photos (2 per second for 8 hours)
can detect polyps, cancers, and sources of bleeding. The photos are
sent to a chip that stores them and sends them to a computer. At the
end of the process, the chamber is eliminated via the rectum.

    6. The Hebrew University (Jerusalem) developed an electrical
neurostimulator (batteries) that is implanted in the chest of
Parkinson's patients, similar to the pacemaker. The emissions from
this device block the nerve signals that cause tremors.

    7. The simple smell of a patient's breath can detect if a patient has
lung cancer. The Russell Berrie Institute for Nanotechnology has
created sensors capable of sensing and registering 42 biological
markers that indicate the presence of lung cancer without the need for
    a biopsy.

    8. Catheterization can be dispensed with in many cases. Endopat is a
device placed between the indicator fingers, which can measure the
state of the arteries and predict the possibility of a heart attack in
    the next 7 years.

    9. The University of Bar Ilan studies a new drug that fights viruses
through the bloodstream. It is called Vecoy Trap, as it tricks a
virus into self-destruction. Very useful to combat hepatitis, and in
    the future Aids and Ebola.

    10. Israeli scientists at Hadassah Medical Center (Jerusalem) may have
discovered the first cure for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, known as
Lou Gehring's disease, in an Orthodox rabbi. Stephen Hawking, a
famous British scientist, suffered from this disease and used methods
invented by Israeli scientists to communicate.

You will never get this from main-stream media!
The world shouldn't live on bad news alone

This is EXCELLENT sharing. Please keep up informed and 'caught up.' I really had no idea. And Buzz, we need all the help we can get in this world. Especially exceptional help! All good knowledge is welcomed to help me-you-us live safe and sound!

It is notable that Israel figures prominently in the 'world' SARS-2 COVID-19 as a 'Go-to' for interesting, important, and timely analyses and data.
