Inciting violence
“We get more active, we’ve got to get more confrontational,” Waters added. “We’ve got to make sure that they know that we mean business.”

The woman who once incited violence during the Rodney King riots, which left over 50 people dead and encouraged people to confront public officials is at it again. She has joined the mob in Brooklyn Center and encouraged them to get more confrontational if the outcome of the Chauvin Trial does not go their way..

If you listen to that tape, the hate-filled congresswoman is demanding a guilty verdict for what sounds like a murder 1 conviction. Officer Chauvin faces 3 counts: Murder 2, Murder 3 and Manslaughter.

Hours after her remarks, a Minnesota National Guard unit was the target of a drive-by shooting. Two soldiers were injured in the incident.

Judge Peter Cahill

The judge in Derek Chauvin’s murder trial responded to Rep. Maxine Waters’ call for protesters to “get confrontational” if Derek Chauvin is cleared in the death of George Floyd and said it could lead to the whole case “being overturned.” Defense attorney Eric Nelson had urged Hennepin County District Judge Peter Cahill to declare a mistrial, arguing that “ an elected official, US congressperson” made statements that “I think are reasonably interpreted to be threats against the sanctity of the jury process” and had the effect of “threatening and intimidating the jury.”  Judge Cahill denied the motion but told Nelson, “I’ll give you that Congresswoman Waters may have given you something on appeal that may result in this whole trial being overturned.”

In 2018, Waters  encouraged supporters to swarm members of the Republican's Cabinet in public. “Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up and if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out, and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere. We’ve got to get the children connected to their parents."

In 1992, Waters incited violence during the deadly Rodney King riots and
refused to characterize the incident as a "riot" and proclaimed that she would not be asking people to conceal their anger on the streets.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., was already calling on Democratic leaders to take action to sanction Waters. Fox is told some Democrats are not pleased with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi saying that Waters shouldn’t apologize and didn’t think Waters' comments would spur violence.

McCarthy now plans to introduce a resolution to censure Waters. Censure is one of the three formal modes of discipline in the House, wedged between reprimand and expulsion.

"Censure" is a severe, formal rebuke by the House. The full House must vote to censure a member. It requires a simple majority vote. The censured member appears in the well of the House with the Speaker presiding, officially chastising the offending member.

The House has only censured 23 members in its history. The last was former Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) in 2010 for a host of transgressions, ranging from tax evasion to misusing official House resources.

A censure resolution is "privileged" in the House of Representatives. That means the House must consider it either right away or within two business days. We believe McCarthy will introduce his resolution mid-week. If the minority party were to draw up a "political" censure, the Democrats may move to "table" the resolution or even move to "refer" it to committee.

It could be argued that an effort to punish a member with something as severe as censure should first be adjudicated by the Ethics Committee.  But Fox is told that a lot of Democrats are angry at Waters, are concerned about the optics of potential violence being linked back to her and Democrats generally. Don’t forget how many moderate Democrats were beside themselves following the midterms and the "defund the police" movement.

When confronted with real incitement, Nancy Pelosi didn't recognize it.

Maybe we should thank Waters for being her hate-filled self. She has done considerable damage to the democrats.

That would take all the responsibility from the Judge, the prosecution, the defense and the jury, wouldn't it?

Because as we all should know, the verdict is going to come back "guilty on all counts."  If they could convict Chauvin on Murder 1 they would do that to. We listen to those jerks on CNN & MSNBC and hear them gnashing their teeth on the belief that Chauvin will somehow get off. Minnesota officials condoning rioting. We are living in dangerous times.

Who and what please?

The liberal mayor of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Jacob Frey, is one of the most culpable local leaders, as he not only fanned the flames of the recent looting and rioting in his beautiful city, but he also effectively forced the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) to stand down and allow the city—including one of MPD's own precincts—to burn.

Other prominent Democrats, including more than a dozen staffers working for former Vice President Joe Biden's presidential campaign, have even contributed to groups that are   bailing   out looters and rioters who were arrested for their crimes.

I'm always glad to help.

No. That's why I want to know which MN officials (my home state by the way) are condoning it. I'm not looking for opinions, I'm looking for quotes and actions. Considering that Mayor Frey set a curfew it doesn't look on it's face he's condoning rioting and looting. So point me something factual.

What she says that if the verdict comes back without what she considers to be justice in this case that people should step up and confront the city powers that be. Confrontation can be entirely peaceful depending on how it goes.

When they run sales, I usually buy about 4 family packs, which we break down into 2 steaks per bag and freeze what we aren't going to eat right away.

Fish is okay, it's the scallops, oysters, shrimp and escargots i love that I have to be careful of, and as long as I'm not drinking alcoholic beverages with them I can still enjoy them in moderation.  Actually my wife cooks up mostly vegetables, and we eat a lot more chicken than meats (mostly pork but very occasionally beef or lamb).  My wife really knows her veggies, many of which I never knew in Canada, because she grew up on a farm.  She has wandered through a wild field and come back with enough edible greens for a meal for us.  I usually make my own breakfasts - western, such as cheese omelettes, sunny side up or scrambled eggs, all with toast with marmalade and jam, hot oatmeal, French toast and sometimes pancakes (all brealfasts with orange juice and coffee).

Last year I got one of those mats that go on the grill, and it comes in handy when I do cook fish because it doesn't ever stick. Not sure what it is made of, but I think it is Teflon. Great for shrimp, too, because they can't fall through the grill.

Me, I am always going to take the ribeye--unless there is a good t-bone or porterhouse available!

My favorite fish is sea bass cooked on mesquite wood. Worked in a place down in Houston that served it, and loved it.

The best way I have found to grill salmon is to place the salmon skin down on a stainless steel preheated sheet (that sits on the grill grates).   The olive oil is plenty good for lubrication.   Let the skin side cook for 1 minute just to loosen the fat.   Then turn all the salmon pieces over and while the flesh side is grilling, peel off the skin.   It will come off nice and easy like a strip of tape.    Then after a few minutes flip them again to cook the flesh that was under the skin.

Steak cooking for me is more fun.   I use my C4 outdoor cooker (like an egg) which has a special cast-iron grate.   Using charcoal chunks I get the temp up to 500° and then plop the steaks down for the initial sear.    Looks great, tastes great.   Ribeye is my favorite.

UPDATE:

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said on Monday that he is introducing a resolution to censure California Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters for telling protesters in Minnesota to "get more confrontational" over the Derek Chauvin trial involving the death of George Floyd.

In an interview among a protest on Saturday in  Brooklyn Center , Waters said that "we're looking for a guilty verdict."

Waters said  that "we've got to stay on the street and we've got to get more active, we've got to get more confrontational. We've got to make sure that they know that we mean business."

This weekend in Minnesota, Maxine Waters broke the law by violating curfew and then incited violence. Speaker Pelosi is ignoring Waters’ behavior—that’s why I am introducing a resolution to censure Rep. Waters for these dangerous comments.— Kevin McCarthy (@GOPLeader)  April 19, 2021

McCarthy said Waters "broke the law by violating curfew and then incited violence. Increased unrest has already led to violence against law enforcement and her comments intentionally poured fuel on the fire."

"We've heard this type of violent rhetoric from Waters before, and the United States Congress must clearly and without reservation reprimand this behavior before more people get hurt. But Speaker Pelosi is ignoring Waters' behavior," he said in a statement. "That's why I am introducing a resolution to censure Rep. Waters for these dangerous comments, and I hope that all my colleagues – both Republican and Democrat – will stand up for peace on America's streets."

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi  said on Monday that Waters shouldn't apologize for her comments.
