The case for a Trump run in 2024
By: Drew Allen

Trump is America’s last hope during these times. He’s a great American. He did a great job as our President. He defended we the people in heartland America from the bi coastal progressive elites and their rent a mob Antifa and blm fascist enforcers. Like Grover Cleveland, Trump will come back and win a delayed 2nd term. We love President Trump and will stand by him and work hard from now on to help make him #47. Trump 2024! We will MAGA Again.

The debate over whether or not Trump will run in 2024 may soon be over. Ric Grenell recently tweeted “I spoke to President Trump today and I’d say he’s running.” But this means the debate over whether or not he should run is just getting started. This debate is certain to be ugly — made even uglier by a leftist media that will do everything they can to fuel the furious passions of the growing chorus of anti-Trumpers on the right.
While many conservatives and Republicans cheer a Trump run in 2024, many others boo the prospect. It is the nay sayers I wish to address.
Some anti-Trumpers maintain that he has too much baggage, that he’s too politically damaged to run in 2024. This is nonsense. It ignores the reality that despite a four year campaign from the Democratic Party and their media to destroy Trump, he was more popular in 2020 than he was in 2016. Trump got eleven million more votes in 2020 than he did in 2016.
No American president in US history has been treated more unfairly than Donald Trump and no American President in American history could have withstood the relentless volley of hatred and abject lies from the leftist media in todays polarizing political climate and the 24 hour news cycle. Nixon resigned over Watergate. Reagan nearly suffered similar humiliation over the Iran-Contra Scandal. Trump showed no weakness throughout the Russia Collusion hoax, the Quid pro quo hoax, and countless other manufactured scandals by the left. He was Teflon Don.
While Trump derangement syndrome afflicts Democrats, Trump fatigue afflicts Republicans. While Trump showed no fatigue after four years of vicious attacks, weak-kneed Republicans did. Many Republicans oppose another Trump presidential run because they are tired of negative media coverage. They are exhausted of the left’s hatred and contempt for Trump and his supporters. They want peace.
But this is not only foolish, but naive. It falsely presumes that Trump was the problem, rather than the Democratic Party, the Washington establishment, and their media. Should DeSantis or another Republican run in 2024, the left’s hatred will simply be aimed at the next Republican candidate. Their pernicious attacks are not exclusive to Trump, but pointed at “we the people” — anyone who stands against them and their corruption. There won’t be peace so long as Republicans and conservatives continue to challenge the left. Trump isn’t the problem. The left is the problem.
The upshot of another Trump presidential run in 2024 is that the left is out of ammunition. That isn’t to say they won’t continue to attack Trump and fabricate new scandals, but the effects of their attacks have little impact. Running a new candidate in 2024 gives the inevitable future attacks new life — a semblance of novelty and credibility. The left has no credibility when it comes to attacking Trump. They’ve tried and failed for four years to destroy him.
This isn’t a case against DeSantis, by the way. It is the case for Trump. Our present war won’t be won after 2024. It’s one battle in what will be a decades long war to save our country. DeSantis will be valuable and important to this effort and his time will come.
But it is likewise foolish to presuppose that Trump can’t win in 2024 because he lost in 2020. This is to accept the lie that Biden got 80 million votes — the most of any presidential candidate in history. To believe this is to ignore how the Democrats won in 2020 — tens of millions of mail in ballots that even our own Government previously admitted “remain the largest source of potential voter fraud.”
Nor is Trump’s age relevant so long as he remains healthy. Trump will be 78 years old in 2024. Reagan was 73 when he was elected to his second term. Biden was 77 in 2020. While Biden isn’t fit — mentally or physically — Trump is not Biden. Trump runs circles around healthy men much younger than he is.
When I wrote my book in November of 2020, I claimed that the 2020 election “is the turning point of the war. It is our Gettysburg. To retreat now is to accept defeat. Only in winning this battle can we live to fight again. We must march towards the enemy, not away from the battlefield. The enemy will not stand idly and watch us flee, but pursue us further, and rout our army.”
As we know, the Republican Party did not stand and fight, but retreated. As I predicted, the Democratic Party did not accept their surrender but was emboldened to obliterate them. But I was wrong about Gettysburg. We did lose an important battle but it doesn’t have to be our demise.
It can and must be our Alamo — a painful loss that inspires us to future victory. Optimistic signs abound. Like the Alamo, countless conservatives have awakened from their slumber and have joined the present fight — myself included.
If Donald Trump couldn’t win, the left would champion his potential nomination. They condemn it, because they fear him. They attack him and us, because they fear us. Donald Trump should run because Donald Trump can win. Trump has what it takes.
You could have warned one and all to equip themselves with tissues, I'm soaked crying with laughter.
Read it and weep!

This time I only laughed derisively.
Make America Great Again Maga
That's how dictators are portrayed. Find another cartoonist.
Jesus Trump
Jesus tried to teach him how to spell but even God couldn't do anything about that.
Jesus?
Gimme a break-- she's an imaginary figure, one who never even existed!
Fairy tales re: imaginary figures...lead to imaginary votes!
BTW, re: "Fairy tales"...no offense to gays intended.or implied.
(Although much of the mythology surrounding the myths of Jesus does seem to indicate homosexiality)
MAKE AMERICA QUACK AGAIN
President Biden will whoop Trump again, way worse!
President Biden will be retired before then. “My butts been wiped” Joe Biden
Well at the rate he's going, Trump may no longer be alive by then.
(In any event, many people are saying that most Republican are backing De Santis...although some are backing him because they are sick and tired of Trump...and out of habit won't vote Democrat).
If the election was today President Biden would, "Whipe Trump's Butt", by twenty million votes. His approval is over 55%. Trump's is below 40%.
Most Republicans including me are backing De Santis IF Trump doesn’t run again. Why would you think Trump won’t be alive then?
It isn’t today and by the time it is BiDen will have done enough damage to America that we will all embrace Trump to repair the damage and MAGA!
Well we had to put up with four plus years of your infatuation with Mr. Trumps penis so I guess the field is being leveled.
Not so fast................
Right out of the box a humongous lie.
The truth is the media went far too easy on Trump for most of the past 6 years. He deserved much worse.
Is this the media mocking Trump, or Trump mocking a disabled journalist?
Many people are saying that they prefer De Santis!
Most of us will choose him if Trump doesn’t run again.
The only place trump will be running is away from the process servers. I've never heard of anyone getting sued more than that loser.
Provided he's not in jail, Trump running in 2024 might be the best thing that could happen for the Democrats.
This isn’t China. We don’t lock up or imprison political opponents or rivals here.
We do though prosecute tax cheats and fraud.
That's yet to be determined, isn't it.
Let’s see… First there was a tax cut that primarily benefitted the rich and is adding $2T to our debt. No infrastructure plan. A clueless, impromptu trade war that devastated farmers, drove manufacturing into recession and did nothing about our actual problem — we were supposed to ally with the countries around China, but Trump in his infinite ‘wisdom’ abandoned that plan. The denigration of peaceful protestors of police brutality that escalated into riots. The abandonment of our long term allies the Kurds after a phone call with Erdoğan; it’s just a coincidence that Trump has assets in Turkey. Then there's the epic mismanagement of the pandemic: Lying about it for weeks while NY & NJ were massively infected from Europe. Then abdicating all responsibility for its management and throwing it to the governors, then undermining the governors by activating his moronic base. Then making mask-wearing a political statement, all the while slowing testing, because as everyone knows, ignoring a rapidly spreading, deadly disease is a goto solution. The cherry on top is his constant lying which incited an insurrection. So Vic, with Trump’s constant praise and obsequious behavior towards Putin, I guess it depends upon your point of view, it’s definitely the case that Trump was, and continues to be, Putin’s wet dream.
Trump is a misogynist and a racist, thin-skinned & narcissistic, puerile & ignorant, spiteful & vindictive, boorish & greedy, a sociopath who's been involved in hundreds of lawsuits where he has damaged/destroyed the businesses of people who did work for him, a conman & a grifter, and a pathological liar. He has no positive attributes, no honor or grace, no sense of humor or self-awareness, no empathy, no credibility -- in short, the worst possible example of a human being. The fact that people support him is not a reflection on Democrats or the main-stream media. Trump is a demagogue with a cult following. If the Senate had done its job and convicted him of the extortion for which he was first impeached, hundreds of thousands of us would not be dead. Pence is normal human who would have worked to manage the pandemic.
The really sad and scary thing is that around 74 million Americans were blind to all that.
Regardless of the propaganda printed in post #8, we intend to return him to the White House in 2024.
This is a really strong and accurate assessment of Trump.
If we look at people on this forum who support him , it is quite clear that they believe what they WANT to believe about him, based on Trump's own self propaganda and the fawning way mainstream media treated him for decades. You still hear people saying he is a great businessman even though his career is filled with fraud and cheating. Maybe America admires fraud and cheating - I dont rule that possibility out.
I'm afraid that for those reasons Trump will be around polluting our society until the day he dies. I doubt merely being put in prison would end his cult status.
The Republicans need to come up with someone other than Trump.
As hard core as the majority of Trump supporters are; there are simply not enough of them to ensure election. Too many conservatives and independents hate the man for him to ever be elected again. The only thing that Trump has going for him is that Biden and the Democrats are such massive fuck ups many will not vote for them no matter what. That does not mean they will vote for Trump; and them staying home on election day is just as bad.
There has to be a Republican or conservative out there with enough charisma; and ability to stay on message (meaning keeping all focus on the massive Democrat fuck ups. Open borders; inflation; high unemployment; shutting down US pipelines; soft on Russia (removing sanctions on the Russian pipeline) and China (ending trade war; and allowing China to set the Covid narrative for so long causing the US to lose all credibility; Covid resurgence; and their continued obsession with "getting" Trump wasting tax payer money repeatedly even after he is out of office).
Nikki Haley checks all of the boxes; and she has laid low gaining separation from Trump. DeSantis is in the media a lot; though sometimes that is not a good thing. If not one of those two then a young up and comer in the GOP ranks. Whatever they do they cannot put out some Establishment fossil.
Trump will say Nikki Haley disrespected him along the way and his millions of lemmings will say "Nikki Haley bad".
You have zero evidence Trump will not call the tune.
De Santis is probably out of luck too, especially if Don Jr decides that he himself is worthy. Imagine , a cokehead with his finger on the nuclear button. We will have to bring Stanley Kubrick back from the grave to satirize it.
Let's look at a little history:
After Reagan/Bush, we were in a recession (which made GHWB a one term president), unemployment at 7.1%, gov't borrowing quadrupled since Carter.
After Clinton, a robust economy, full employment (<5%), gov't borrowing dropped by more than 2/3s.
After GWB, greatest recession since the Great Depression, unemployment north of 8%, gov't borrowing increased by 1,500%.
After Obama, a robust economy, full employment, gov't borrowing dropped by 2/3s again, 20+ million working class Americans got healthcare.
After Trump, a fucking mess, people proudly refusing to protect themselves from the virus and get the vaccine (apparently to hurt Biden). $6T borrowed to mitigate Trump's epic mismanagement of the virus. Trump's diplomatic vandalism has the Iranians refining uranium again, farmers/manufacturing devastated/damaged, our credibility in the world trashed. If you bother to read the international news, our system of gov't is no longer viewed as desirable; it is seen as dysfunctional and actually elevated the worst possible example of a person to 'leader' of the free world.
Biden -- quietly going about the business of rebuilding our reputation and economy. Trying to rebuild our infrastructure so we can more effectively compete. No impromptu diplomacy, no poop tweeting, no denigration of American subgroups. Republican Administrations keep handing the subsequent Democratic Administrations an exponentially more damaged country. We'll see if Biden can undo the "massive fuck ups" of Trump.
How many times will you have to be corrected on this? You keep telling falsehoods. Here are facts.
After Reagan/Bush, we were in a recession
The economy was booming when George H.W. Bush left office. The economy grew 4.8% his last quarter in office.
Given that I've provided this link numerous times directly to you, I don't know why I bother. Bur here it is, again.
After Clinton, a robust economy
What are you talking about? The economy stalled in the 4th Q of 2000 and officially went into recession 6 weeks after Clinton left office.
Please get your basic facts correct and stop continually spreading partisan misinformation.
Read your own article: "The growth rate for the full year was 2.1 percent..." That final quarter came too late for GHWB. It wouldn't have mattered anyway because when he left office unemployment was still over 7%, the deficit had still quadrupled during Reagan/Bush, and people were still sick of Reaganomics. GHWB was a one term president because of the economy -- look it up. But, you're correct to say that the economy was not technically in recession, it just sucked for a lot of people and we were borrowing like crazy -- hallmarks of Republican economies. In any event, using GDP as a measure of how people are doing is silly, GDP in Q4 or 2019 is lower than in Q1 of 2021. Yet, lots more people are in trouble now that weren't then.
Gov't borrowing dropped back to about where it was under Carter. We were at better than full employment. The recession you mention was very mild, largely caused by the bursting of the dot.com stupidity. However, unemployment when Clinton left office was 4.2%, so people had jobs. Unemployment would peak (not counting the 2008 disaster) at 6.2% almost 2.5 years later, plenty of time to do something about it. When Clinton left office, people were doing well, the economy was doing well. But, Republicans had the reins again, so 8 years later, we ended up in the biggest recession since the great depression.
Thanks for reviving a 5 day old seed! I appreciate it very much. Trump is a great American and will be our President again!
I think Trump will run.
