Lauren "Bobble Head" Boebert and Marjorie Taylor "Jewish Lasers" Greene thought it was appropriate to heckle President Biden during the State of the Union Address. They (unsuccessfully) tried to start a "build the wall" chant and shouted insults during the speech.

You know what made me think about NV and NT recently? The Brave browser. I started looking for a browser with an emphasis on privacy and ad blocking because the endless lingerie ads were getting too distracting. (Why lingerie ads? I don't know. Maybe that's their revenge for refusing targeted ads?)
And I tried Brave. Not only does it block most ads but it actually pays you for a percentage of the ads it shows you.
And of course that got me to thinking about how we used to get paid to look at ads on NV in that final revision.
The main thing I can't figure out on this site is how to get notifications that someone has replied to a comment. How do you do know who's been talking to you?

Yes, there are site Mods here.
Plus every group appoints group Mods. Naturally, lots of my comments got censored in the "conservative" groups. I don't bother participating in those groups any more.
People who post articles and seeds also get to moderate their threads. Naturally some of them are "comment Nazis" so they censor comments they disagree with.
I'm the only group mod in this group ("The Banned Played On") and I never censor anything. However, the site Mods police this group (and, of course, the entire site). The group Mods in "SINNERs and ButtHeads" are cool and they also moderate "The Reality Show".
There is also a group called "Heated Discussion" that allows personal insults and almost anything is permitted. I enjoy bitch slapping the White-wing knuckle draggers there. Unfortunately most of the stalker/trolls seem to avoid that group. Unfortunately, articles published there don't get promoted on the "front page" so they don't get much traffic.
You can pretty much figure the dynamics here are the same as they were on NV... You have some of the liberal based and slanted groups as al has mentioned and which the conservative side tends to ignore most of the time, that's why the group mods are pretty "cool" in his opinion... Not so "cool" in others opinions... and the same can be said for the site mods...
I know outside the site most liberals consider this site a conservative shithole, heck there are some people here that think they have changed this place from such to a liberal democrat utopia... And there are also the peeps that consider this place a liberal shithole...
So I guess it has that happy balance that makes it work, just be careful of the cow patties many leave laying around...
Group mods I guess were created to make the place more NV like, which of course means having a private group wasn't good enough... (and it kinda takes a load of work off the site mods) but as group mods yeah there is some censorship that happens...
If I were you I would go into your profile and turn off auto join groups, otherwise you will find yourself joining groups you want no part of... In your settings you will find the controls for notifications... I believe you can set them to e-mail you when a response is made... I keep mine turned off cause my e-mail inbox would get filled with so much garbage it wasn't worth it... You can also turn off the advertising in your profile as well...

It was wrong when Joe Wilson yelled 'you lie' at Obama during the State of the Union speech, it was wrong all the times the Democrats postured or "groaned loudly" at Trump or when Pelosi tore up her copy of his speech on live TV, and it was wrong with these two doing it last Tuesday at Biden.
Thing is I've seen many people from both sides complain about these two but I don't remember anybody on the left for commenting that Pelosi was out of line for her antics while Trump was in office.

While I think this is a bit mean, I still laughed. While standing in line at the grocery store, I was behind a rather loud Karen. Said her brother told her to be loudly patriotic in person. Biden was not interrupted by heckling. Not once. There was the chants of USA, USA. There were groans when Biden talked about the Trump tax cuts for the rich. And there was some shouting during applause. But I didn't see or hear any heckling on the PBS broadcast of the SOTU.
Perhaps it depends on ones definition of in interrupted. Boebert clearly heckled and was her usual, rude and inarticulate self, but Biden didn't acknowledge her and if he paused because of it, it was very brief.

Bringing up the issue of burn pits seemed rather odd since Congressional input and action are not required. Unless Biden was requesting Congressional oversight, the issue isn't really an issue. Recognition of injuries caused by military burn pits is strictly an administrative matter. I suppose that is the reason 'heckling' is being given so much attention.

Which seems to be the only reason Biden introduced the subject. In case you didn't notice, Biden was blaming the US military for his son's death.
For the first time in Biden's 50 year political career he is directly responsible for the health and safety of military personnel. But Biden shifted the blame elsewhere. Biden doesn't need Congressional input or action to address the issue. Military burn pits are Biden's responsibility now and Biden has the authority to directly address the issue.
I thought he brought up burn pits in relation to the $5 billion allocated for the VA in the Build Back Better bill. All the pieces he talked about where he said they would help to lower costs, etc are all pieces of his Build Back Better plan that he's still trying to get passed. I thought he wasted too much time and energy on that bill that just isn't going to get passed this year.
IMO if any of these pieces is truly good for the American people then break them out of the huge bill and pass them as stand-alone bills.
