NASHVILLE HAT SHOP SELLING 'NOT VACCINATED' PATCHES ... Mocking Star of David

800

A Nashville hat shop reeks of anti-Semitism after making light of Star of David patches Jewish people were forced to wear during WWII ... by giving it an anti-vaxx twist.

The place is called hatWRKS ... and they posted a since-deleted Instagram photo featuring a woman proudly rocking a yellow patch -- made in the same style as what Nazis used to brand Jews with in the midst of the Holocaust -- with lettering reading, "Not Vaccinated."

There's a cold-blooded caption attached too, which says ... "patches are here!!! they turned out great. $5ea. strong adhesive back .... we'll be offering trucker caps soon."

b82ffeae9d094355aff2494a6aef7158_md.jpg

Of course, the post caused an uproar online and elsewhere -- and rightly so. People note that comparing what happened to Jewish people to what anti-vaxxers perceive is happening to them right now is absolutely ludicrous, asinine ... and downright wrong. They're not the same -- not even close, and trivializing that history with a patch like this is beyond offensive.

So, what do the owners of this mom-and-pop shop have to say for themselves??? Apparently nothing so far -- it doesn't seem they've responded to the mounting criticism, other than removing the grotesque photo.

hatWRKS/Facebook

It also looks like people have been doxxing the workers there -- including this woman -- and have been posting their info online ... with many blowing up their emails, phone lines and social handles with hate mail. All we can say is ... y'all opened this can of worms. ‍♂️

You can see from the photo of her storefront (wow, almost typed "stormfront") whom she was proud to support, which is no surprise to me.  This article is proof that there has been insufficient education concerning The Holocaust - some people need to be given a TASTE of it.  When I first saw the news of what that ignorant bitch did, I felt that there are many who should be forced to EXPERIENCE The Holocaust, an experience ending just before the shower nozzles are changed from water to cycloneB, just before the oven they are shoved into is turned on, just before being buried alive in the trench they are made to dig, just before being worked to death, just before they die of disease (as Anne Frank did), just before a Dr. Mengele pierces their skin, or just before being shot, which might have been the most humane way the Nazis killed Jews.

I think it is widely accepted that the Holocaust was one of the most horrible and inhuman series of actions and events in the history of our planet, if not THE worst. No one should make light of it. And its not like it is difficult to avoid making light of it.

Instead of calling people drama queens why not agree with the accepted viewpoint for once?

I think it is widely accepted that the Holocaust was one of the most horrible and inhuman series of actions and events in the history of our planet, if not THE worst.

Definitely one of the worst.

Although throughout history there have been been some really horrific actions of a large scale. Vlad the Impaler, anyone?

(In fact, currently there are some things going on in Syria now...many people are unaware of the scale of what's going on. And what happened under Saddam to his own people...and the unbelievable cruelty of ISIS (many Americans are not fully aware of the degree of their cruelty)... or under the elder Assad. And the ongoing massacres of the Rohingya in Myanmar (and although its not politically correct to mention it as The Jews aren't behind it-- -- this is a large Muslim group that's probably the most persecuted of any Muslim group in the world). And what's actually going on in the War in Yemen.

And Kavika has mentioned just a few of the horrendous things the U.S. has done to American Indians... (much of whichmost Americans-- including myself-- are still not fully aware of).

Of course the numbers are far less than the Holocaust. And perhaps in some ways the deliberate cruelty is slightly less...but most people here would be shocked to know what's going on there.

When I was a Freshman in college we used to sit around, drink beer, and wax philosophical. Often, (after the obligatory discussion about what would've happened if the South won "The War Between the States" AKA  what's known in the North as "The Civil War-- we would argue over whether the Holocaust was worse than Slavery-- or vice-versa. After a while I realized that arguing which of two atrocities was worse was a stupid waste of time)

I had Covid 19 in mid December 2020. My blood was tested in mid April 2021 and was positive for Covid 19 anti-bodies. I will be donating blood again in July and my donation will again be tested for anti-bodies. I usually donate to the Red Cross but now have the option of donating at the University of Irvine, Ca. They will also test the donations for anti-bodies. I may go there just to get a wider result. Based on those results I will determine whether or not to get the vaccine.

I'm neither irresponsible or proudly refusing the vaccine. I'm simply not going to get a vaccine for something that my body already has anti-bodies.

I guess I am an "early adopter"-- I had it in late February 2020!

I also wanted to resist getting the vaccine as I believed I had developed immunity and also know some extremely powerful alternative medicine techniques...both from alternative western medicine as well as TCM ("Traditional Chineswe Medicine").

But a friend of mine is getting married soon, and proof of vaccination is required to attend.

Hmmmm...I had been wondering-- why do  most of them they ?

IMO, it was due to two influences-- more recently Marjorie Taylor Greene and her ilk. (And BTW she has a YUGE following...and rakes in lots and lots of cash every time she speaks.. (Many of her sycophants believe every word she says).

And also one of her very worst Ilks . . . the irrepressible Matt Gaetz.

But lets not forget our hollowed and many veneered ex-President Trump. (BTW some of these clips mention they are from March-- that refers not to this past March but rather March a year ago when the scale of the Pandumbic was first known.

How many of these statements do people here remember?:

I went to Nashville once, and hated everything about it.  Here’s what a stroll through downtown Nashville is in a nutshell:

boot store ... tourist tchotchkes ... honkey tonk

Rinse and repeat for the next 20 blocks in any direction.  If this white trash tchotchke dealer hadn’t been immediately publicly shamed, you’d soon be finding these things in five places on every block.

Thanks for the info.  I imagined that a barge had run into it and caused a truly serious problem, not that a crack isn't major, but if not major structural damage has been done, it should be repairable.

Personally, I always had concerns about that bridge and thought it should have been replaced long ago.

I guess when we return stateside we'll need to use I-30 or I-20 for our east-west travel.

‘It’s a scary time’ for L.A. Jews as attacks bring heightened security, anxiety

It was the second day in a row that Franklin, 37, and other volunteers had come to the Fairfax District to offer protection to a community on edge.

Some stood on the sidewalk offering to walk people to and from synagogue, asking if they felt safe, and just wishing them a happy sabbath. Others were more incognito, sitting in parked cars.

“Last night, seeing you guys walk people home, it was surreal,” said one man who stopped to thank Franklin. “We’re proud to have you.”

Franklin said he felt called to offer his support after multiple  recent antisemitic attacks ,  including a violent attack on diners at a West Hollywood area sushi restaurant.

For a couple of decades, Minneapolis was known as the most anti-Semitic city in the US.

Also the most anti-Native America.

Yes it is, but the racism was decades before she was elected Buzz. Racism started back in the 1930s and was very strong until the 1960s it was an all-white city at that time. It never really went away just not as obvious as it was in the past.

Minneapolis is also where the American Indian Movement (AIM) was founded in 1968 due to police brutality and racism against NA's.

I didn't know that about the American Indian Movement. Thanks a million. It makes me smarter to learn from another about the plight of our nation's people.

Over this long memorial weekend and early on, there has been heavy rotation of a promo about so named, "Black Wall Street"  (1921) and the mob which waged limited 'war' on well-to-do Black Americans in Tulsa, Oklahoma. What's striking, is it was well-hidden from the nation and history books. But, some locals survived it and have kept the accounts alive until such a time as this.

Well, on you Kavika for sharing with us the good knowledge you have about your people and a great many others. . . .

. I would've assumed that racism of any sort would be worse in parts of the deep South. Intolerance in general.

But IIRC you mentioned that you had actually lived in Minnesota? (I've never been there-- or even in surrounding states-- so I don't know much about it.).

Most people think of the deep South as being only anti-Black. But in many places there's still there is a lot of intolerance towards any non-White, non-Christian group. In fact, when I lived there, I was surprised at even the racist intolerance in some towards some  "Lily White" Christians! (....Catholics).

Also prejudice against Asians who they referred to as "Yellow N*ggers".

I had a college roomate (White guy) whose family lived in rural N.Carolina for generations., Southern Methodist. And while his prejudice against them wasn't all that deep, on several occasions he explained to me why, basically, (White) Southern Baptists were inferior to (White) Southern Methodists! (Not just slightly different religious views, but also that the Baptists were lazy, liars, untrust-worthy, etc,,, but that Methodists were fine upstanding citizens!)

(I had started arguing that IMO the difference between the two groups wasn't all that great-- but finally gave up!)

Gotta hate someone, because it's a unifying and belonging tool.  That doesn't just apply to individuals, but between religions, and even WITHIN religions, and it even becomes a national cause in order to unify a country, such as creating the hatred of China, so well applied by the Trump administration and unfortunately continued by the Biden one.  HATE THEM BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE THE SAME CULTURE AND BELIEFS THAT WE DO!!!!!!

Of COURSE not - it's necessary to HIDE our ugly history, so it will be repeated, and so we will apprear to be the perfect example that we are trying to force all other cultures in the world to emulate.  (partly an interpretation of what Santayana had to say).

In more ways than people here know!

I'm generally pretty secretive re: personal info online. But I have finally decided that I can tell people this: I am probably the only person on NT to have a real Nazi in their family! No, not some pimply faced kid from the Mid-West who locks himself in his room and masturbates to his collection of Nazi memorabilia... but a "real" Nazi.

My uncles' oldest brother was from a prominent and very rigid authoritarian family in Germany. During WWII he was actually an officer in the German Army under Hitler.(a minor officer, but still...)

He was the oldest. My Uncle was different-- the youngest, he was a rebel. Also a young film-maker. He made anti-Nazi propaganda films. Fled Germany to The Netherlands where he was in The Dutch Underground, but was caught after the German invasion of Holland. (They suspected he was in the Underground but had no proof. And since he wasn't Jewish and was from a prominent and very respected Catholic family-- they couldn't put him in a concentration camp, torture him, etc.So they put him in a maximum security prison in Berlin.

Later he liberated by the Allies, & (unlike another Uncle of mine who was an illegal "Wetback"...but that another story...)  he then  immigrated with his wife legally to the U.S.

My family at the time was very poor, & lived in a small 2 bedroom house with an unfinished attic-- my father was a skilled craftsman and finished it as a small but wonderful apt where they lived for quite a while. I learned much...

I don't claim to be an expert on the Nazis...but as a result of finally getting to know my Aunt and Uncle from Europe,  I probably know a bit more about the Nazis...and the Underground... than most people...(Not boasting...its just a fact). So yes, I am different...

Rosewood FL was an African-American community that prospered there in the early 20th century. A white mob destroyed it in 1923 because a white woman claimed she was beaten by a black man when in reality he was white and bedding her while her husband was at work.  There is a great movie about it called Rosewood.  But note, a main character (Mr. Man) was introduced but he never existed.

Many people may not be aware of it, but Gaza is a police state, run by a terrorist organization (Hamas). And could accurately be called a Welfare state. But the UN (Through UNWRA) helps Palestinian "Refugees"-- in Gaza amongst other places in the Middle east.

IIRC, At one time they decided to teach a course in "tolerance".  Part of it was about The Holocaust.

Not surprisingly, Gaza's rulers would only allow the course if it eliminated teaching about the Holocaust. So-- they did.(People in Gaza are forbidden to learn about the Holocaust).

Ovens? What ovens?

/sarc

There are Holocaust deniers that "have proof" that mass extermination never happened. Rather, the Jews (and other "inferior races" that died  (who were relatively few in number, of course) died because of food shortages that occurred in Germany due to war time conditions. No Holocaust ever occurred....

(Interestingly, that what Erdogan and other Turks who deny the Armenian genocide also claim-- that all the Armenians they massacred died of food shortages, diseases that were prevalent at the time, etc.

All lies...

(Many nations were afraid of Erdogen, and alienating Turkey, so they refused to condemn that genocide. But I believe that for the first time the U.S. (under Biden) recently admitted it. Now Turkey is pissed!

Yep.

Actually that's just what happened! (--> LINK )

After deleting the initial post, the store, which   USA Today   reported is run by hatmaker Gigi Gaskins, followed up with two additional   posts   railing against "tyranny."

"People are so outraged by my post? But are you outraged with the tyranny the world is experiencing?" an image shared on Instagram read.

(A typical MAGA "whaddaboutism".)-- no apology.

But then:

On Saturday, hours after Stetson's announcement, the store shared a third post apologizing for "any insensitivity."

"In NO WAY did I intend to trivialize the Star of David or disrespect what happened to millions of people," the   post   said. "My hope was to share my genuine concern and fear, and to do all that I can to make sure that nothing like that ever happens again."
