Russia Owns The Donald

S E E D E D   C O N T E N T

Congress is receiving documents from  Deutsche Bank that explain why Trump consistently praises Putin.  I used to think it was because the Russians managed to get him elected.  Butt, the Russians also  rescued him financially.

Why did  Deutsche Bank loan  Trump hundreds of millions of dollars after he defaulted on a previous loan from them?  After he refused to repay a Deutsche Bank loan Trump even  sued them.  WTF?  After that nasty shit, Deutsche Bank loaned him at least $300 million more.  Why?   Because he had Russian oligarchs as co-signors .

Since the Russians saved Trump from declaring bankruptcy again , Putin owns him.

Check out this seed from the Washington Examiner:

Russian oligarchs co-signed Trump's Deutsche Bank loans

 | August 27, 2019 11:26 PM

MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell says he has a source who told him Russian oligarchs signed off loans given to President Trump by Deutsche Bank.

Lawyers for the German lender told a federal appeals court Tuesday that the bank has documents sought by Democrat-led House committees, which subpoenaed Deutsche Bank and Capital One for financial records related to Trump, his family, and businesses, but declined to reveal if they have Trump's tax returns.

While the New York Times reports Deutsche Bank, which has done business with Trump for two decades, does have some of Trump's personal and corporate tax returns, O'Donnell told colleague Rachel Maddow in the hand-off between their shows Tuesday evening he can go a bit further.

"This single source close to Deutsche Bank has told me that the Trump — Donald Trump's loan documents there show that he has co-signers. That's how he was able to obtain those loans. And that the co-signers are Russian oligarchs," he said.

A shocked Maddow replied, "What? Really?"

"That would explain, it seems to me, every kind word Donald Trump has ever said about Russia and Vladimir Putin, if true, and I stress the 'if true' part of this," O'Donnell added.

O'Donnell later said this source told him that Trump's tax returns reveal "he pays little to no income tax in some years."

He added that his source said Trump, a longtime real estate businessman, would not have been able to obtain his loans with Deutsche Bank without these co-signers he described as "Russian billionaires close to Vladimir Putin."

"If true," O'Donnell said, "that would explain every kind word Donald Trump has ever said about Russia and Vladimir Putin. If true. If true, that would be a significant factor in Vladimir Putin's publicly stated preference for presidential candidate Donald Trump over presidential candidate Hillary Clinton."

It means that the President of the United States has financial ties to a FOREIGN POWER which he failed to reveal when he decided to run for the HIGHEST OFFICE in America.

It also means that a FOREIGN GOVERNMENT, Russia, has their Kremlin Claws deep within Trump financial pockets and has leverage over him.

Therefore, Trump is not a "free man" able to make decisions for the USA, he is, as reporters, pundits, researchers, and the CIA has said, a "RUSSIAN ASSET".

Okay, let's assume that all that is true.

Again, I ask you.

So the effing hell what?

Why would anyone really care?  What cuz the US billionaires have been doing such a snazzy job of making your life better?

Most likely you only like about half the USA anyway. Seems to be a lot of that lately.  And seems like you haven't noticed there isn't really any freedom, or privacy, or that things have gone so far down hill that we've been doing Nazi shyte on the border, since that wreck of president Obama.

Trump is working for the same people that Obama did... and Bush Jr. and Clinton. You don't like his style, he's a crude POS, and he's lazy.

That makes him perfect for the job the media and Democrats put him in.

What is it you think Putin is gonna tell Trump to do that is going to actually hurt you?

All this is just fear mongering.

Trump couldn't make money running a casino... What kind of master plan is that dude gonna be able to carry out?

The best part of Trump is how he's breaking stuff that needs to be broken. Like beauty pageants and empires.

Trump is a horror... and he was still better than anything Democrats had to offer.

The thing about Republicans is they will rob you to your face... no smile no pretty please.  You know exactly where the bustards stand. They are gonna take a bite out of you at every opportunity. That actually makes them easy to deal with.

Democrats tell you their your friend, then when you are at your weakest and the economy crashes... that's when Democrats stab you in the back.  Which is exactly what Hopey Changey Obama did.  Which is exactly what he was paid by Wall Street to do. When the dumbest politician in the USA says something smart.  It's time to get the Emperor some clothes.  Obama was a catastrophe as bad as Bush Jr.

The presidency is a puppet position. GW demostrated that nicely.  The man wasn't bright enough to operate a light switch.

Does anyone remember TPP?  Who killed that after Obama worked years to put it together for his corporate buddies.

That would be asshole Trump he did it for himself but he did everyone in the USA a favor.

I'd rather have a sincere enemy than a false friend.

However, some of us do believe we do.  I took this oath when I enlisted:

I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

I received an Honorable Discharge so I'm not bound by the part about obeying orders butt I will still support and defend the Constitution.  And I will vote against the Traitor-in-chief.

Obama did not pull the economy out of a hole.  He bailed out banks

Duhbya bailed out the banks.

The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, often called the " bank bailout of 2008," was proposed by Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, passed by the 110th United States Congress, and signed into law by President George W. Bush.

Obama bailed out the auto industry .  The auto manufacturers then repaid the loans with interest.

Maybe you should brush up on history.

I will if you will.

In late 2008, Chrysler and General Motors told America that they were in danger of folding. George W. Bush agreed to a temporary bailout, but handed the auto companies' long-term future over to his successor, President-Elect Barack Obama . Obama then shepherded a comprehensive bailout of the two companies that allowed them to stay in business but imposed numerous conditions that, it was hoped, would secure their viability and allow the companies to eventually return to profitability.  (from Prospect.org)

It is?  I almost never pay attention to what politicians say. So, I don't think I'd make an argument like that. Once and awhile I watch what politicians do.  This is a better metric.  Republicans just gave rich people a tax cut.  Seems likely it's gonna come out of social security or medicare. Bush bailed out the auto industry.

.

True enough, but an incomplete answer at best.

Did President Obama save the auto industry?

We ask, did President Obama really save American auto makers? This is more a matter of opinion, and not an item for the Truth-O-Meter, but we can still shine some light on the question.

In broad strokes, the answer is yes , but with some help from the other party and with one huge unknown -- no one can say what would have happened without massive government intervention. We spoke with a number of analysts and read many independent reports. There is no question that General Motors and Chrysler are profitable today. But so is Ford, a company that received no financial aid at all. The jobs have returned -- although not nearly at the level they were before the industry began its steep decline in 2007.

Barack Obama, however, cannot claim full credit for this outcome. According to several experts, he needs to share it with his predecessor, President George W. Bush. Dr. James Rubenstein at Miami University co-wrote a post-bankruptcy assessment for the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Rubenstein said no one should overlook the importance of Bush’s decision to use $17.6 billion in TARP money in December 2008 to keep General Motors and Chrysler afloat.

"The Bush Administration provided short-term bridge loans," Rubenstein said. "That allowed the Obama Administration to take a couple of months to assess the situation."

Aaron Bragman, the lead American automotive analyst for the financial forecasting group IHS Automotive, echoed the point. "The Bush administration is the one that actually acted to save them from an uncontrolled bankruptcy and shutdown," Bragman said. "The Obama administration's role was to fix them."

.........

When President Obama took office, he created a task force with a sweeping mandate to determine the fate of GM and Chrysler. The companies’ first proposals to the task force included downsizing, but the task force wanted deeper changes. In March 2009, Obama rejected those plans and said if the firms wanted federal money, they had to go through bankruptcy. That happened quickly. The car companies filed for bankruptcy in June and emerged in July.

........

The Economist , one of the bastions of free-market thinking, came around to that view. Originally, it favored no government intervention. In April 2010, it offered an apology to President Obama.

"Given the panic that gripped private purse-strings," the magazine wrote in an editorial. "It is more likely that GM would have been liquidated, sending a cascade of destruction through the supply chain on which its rivals, too, depended."

Even Sherk at the Heritage Foundation gives Obama credit for forcing the carmakers to go through bankruptcy and the necessary restructuring that followed. The Economist concludes "by and large Mr Obama has not used his stakes in GM and Chrysler for political ends. On the contrary, his goal has been to restore both firms to health and then get out as quickly as possible."

Signing the Obamas is the latest, and by far the biggest, in a string of moves by Netflix to lock up the entertainment industry’s highest-profile producers in exclusive production and development pacts. Last year,   Netflix poached “Grey’s Anatomy” creator Shonda Rhimes   from ABC Studios with a deal valued at more than $100 million. “Glee” creator   Ryan Murphy jumped from his longtime home   at 20th Century Fox Television earlier this year to also join Netflix. Murphy’s deal was reported at the time to be worth as much as $300 million. However, sources tell   Variety   that tally includes money that Murphy is expected to make from his current and former Fox series over the life of his Netflix contract, and that the true value of the deal is in line with that of Rhimes’.

It is unknown how much the Obamas’ Netflix agreement — which will see them produce through their newly formed company Higher Ground Productions — is worth. In March, Penguin Random House signed the couple to a joint book deal that pays them a reported $65 million for their respective memoirs.

“Barack and Michelle Obama are among the world’s most respected and highly-recognized public figures and are uniquely positioned to discover and highlight stories of people who make a difference in their communities and strive to change the world for the better,” said Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos. “We are incredibly proud they have chosen to make Netflix the home for their formidable storytelling abilities.”

Among President Obama’s most visible public appearances since leaving office was on David Letterman’s new Netflix series, “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.” Obama was the first guest in the former “Late Show” host’s new long-form interview program.

Good grief. Learn a little before posting. Speaking engagements, and writing books add to their earned income.

Michelle Obama’s memoir, “Becoming,” has received worldwide praise and it was the best-selling   hardcover book of 2018. Now, it has a new accolade: It’s almost better than sex. “Becoming” has been the No. 1 most sold book on Amazon across all formats for 47 days, according to data provided to CNBC Make It from Amazon Charts, which is the longest top best-seller streak since a very different kind of book topped the charts in 2012 — erotic romance “Fifty Shades of Grey.”

At least the Obamas earned their money legitimately, not inheriting it, not cheating contractors, not cheating on taxes, but the old fashioned way. They earned it without duplicity, without acting dishonestly, etc. And I'll bet Barack never had to pay off hookers either.

Obama earned his money?   Hilarious!   He parlayed less than 10 years of government service into multi millions.   Multi million dollar mansions in three different locations.   He lives like a king and his followers still grovel at his feet.   That is funny to watch though.   Unlike the people he said he championed who were dumb enough to buy it.   The ones who will really work a lifetime to earn their keep and never come close to that level of wealth.   His worker drones may see that as "earning" but your regular working person doesn't.

But of course, i'm sure YMMV .... since he's your boy and all .....

He's my boy [funny little reference] because he deserved it. He governed this country with grace, class, intellect and honor. We were respected by other countries. But if he would have said he grabbed pussies, I wouldn't have voted for him, and I would have been suspect of anyone who would. If he was proven to have cheated contractors, vendors and partners, I wouldn't have voted for him. If he said he wanted to "date" his own daughter, I wouldn't have voted for him. If he would have uttered one lie while in office and if he was worried about ratings and crowd sizes, I'd want him out of office. If he tweeted nonstop, I would have wanted him impeached. Trump's unstable. He's unhinged. He lies as a matter of course despite the fact that it can be proven by audio/print/video. He's counted on the stupidity of his supporters and he's an embarrassment world-wide. I too would have been stupid if Obama did 1/1000th of the shit that Trump has done and still supported him. And I wouldn't have still supported him because I have a moral compass that points true north, I believe in honoring the Constitution, and I have self-respect.

Note the question mark at the end of my sentence. I asked a question, I didn't claim that you made an argument.

Republicans just gave rich people a tax cut. Seems likely it's gonna come out of social security or medicare. That's stuff politicians do.

Yet you said that at least the Republicans:

"The GOP and Trump lied about the tax cuts"

I told you I don't listen to what politicians say. All politicians lie, which is why I don't listen to them.  Better to watch them.  I'd say anyone that bets on any particular statement of Trump's to be true better take odds.  But then I'd say the same about every president since ever.

But I sure as hell figured that Trump was gonna sell influence, that dude loves money more than orange.  Not a big secret either.  Hell Russia Madcow talks about it all the time... she's as nutty as money can buy.  But I don't know anyone that mocked the idea that Trump might give himself a tax cut.  Even if he had to give one to all his rich freenemies too.

So, I'm sort of confused at this point. You win this one.

"then WHY make the comment about the GOP robbing you to your face and how do you know 'exactly where they stand'?"

Because I watch what they do. When I say I don't listen to them, I mean I don't pay attention to what they say.  I mean I know their lips are moving and if want to I can comprehend the BS proceeding from betwixt their lips but it seems pretty pointless to me. Because politicians are pretty predictable bunch.  So predictably greedy and pandering. Still fighting in Syria, not that it makes any sense; but yes we still have ground forces in Syria and are conducting a bombing campaign there. Russia, China, Iran, and the Syrian government can handle ISIS/ISIL in Syria at this point. The only reason we are still there is to protect the Kurds, and Syrian Sunni rebels. Neither of which is in the interests of Russia who has assets in Syria in a port, air field, and military base.  Russia needs Assad in charge of a stable Syria to keep all of those things.

US undermining NATO. Nope, Trump is forcing NATO countries to increase their military expenditures and meet their commitments.  How the hell does that help Russia!  Putin wants NATO weak, not getting stronger.

EU so nervous that it is planning on organizing their own combined military? Yup, thanks to being nervous about Trump's threats. I am sure Russia is thrill about an organized European military force outside of NATO.

P resident Trump told a reporter from Russian TV that Russian President Vladimir Putin was a “great guy” and a “terrific person” following a meeting with the Russian leader at the G-20 Summit in Japan over the weekend. A reporter from Russia 24, a Russian state-owned television station, approached Trump and asked him how he’d liked his meeting with Putin. Trump replied with praise for the Russian leader. “He is a great guy. I think we had a really good meeting. I think he is a good person, we started discussing trade. I think we should have trade between Russia and USA, two great countries. We had a great meeting yesterday. He is a terrific person," Trump said.

Sorry ... this is a short list since it's a busy day. I'll be back to give you more info since you need it. Of course, it's easy enough to research. If you don't believe the written word, Wally, how about a video or two? Just go to You Tube and search "Trump Praises Putin." You'll find a few videos, some of which are compilations.

2015 - On the campaign trail, he went on to repeat his praise for Putin. That November, Trump had defended Putin from accusations he authorized the assassination of journalists and dissidents."He's running his country and at least he's a leader, unlike what we have in this country," Trump said in an interview on MSNBC's Morning Joe.

2016 - He further denied having met Putin* and said that Putin had "outsmarted" Clinton and Obama. After Trump's election, he continued to speak warmly of Putin, praising a "very nice and correct" Christmas card the Russian leader sent him, and even re-tweeting a quote by Putin taunting the losing Clinton campaign. "Vladimir Putin said today about Hillary and Dems : "In my opinion, it is humiliating. One must be able to lose with dignity." So true!" he tweeted in December.

[* 2014 - Speaking at the National Press Club, Trump says he spoke “indirectly and directly” with Putin at Miss Universe. “I own Miss Universe, I was in Russia, I was in Moscow recently and I spoke, indirectly and directly, with President Putin, who could not have been nicer, and we had a tremendous success.”]

2019 - President Trump told a reporter from Russian TV that Russian President Vladimir Putin was a “great guy” and a “terrific person” following a meeting with the Russian leader at the G-20 Summit in Japan over the weekend. The exchange was broadcast on Russian television.

When Trump was asked what the two planned to discuss, Trump said, “it’s a great honor to be with President Putin” and promised that “a lot of very positive things are going to come out of the relationship.”

There are three types of Trump supporters. Total idiots, which Trump has counted on since his "I could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and they'd still vote for me" comment, those who think that Trump makes left leaners cry [which you've admitted to, so I guess you could be considered one of the "fuck America" people], and those who have white nationalist leanings. All I can say is that if Obama said 1/1000th of the shit Trumplethinskin has said, I would have written to everyone I could trying to get Obama out of office. Of course, if Obama would have said anything that the Liar In Chief had said during his campaign, I wouldn't have voted for him in the first place.

Thanks for playing, Wally. I'll be back with more.

Putin wants the US to weaken NATO - Trump has attacked them.

Yes, by getting NATO countries to increase military spending. That is how you weaken NATO. Also, in case you missed it the NATO chief thanked Trump for leadership on military spending.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg praised President Donald Trump on Thursday for pushing countries in the alliance to boost their defense spending, an issue that has driven a wedge between Trump and Europe before. “Let me thank you for the leadership you show on the issue of defense spending because it is very important that we all contribute more to our shared security, and it is really having an impact because, as you said, allies are now spending more on defense,” Stoltenberg said while taking reporters’ questions after the leaders met at the White House. “All allies are increasing their defense budgets.”

Whoops, so much for weakening NATO.

Putin wants the United Nations to weaken - Trump's minions attack and withdraws from "humanitarian effort" to stem dictatorship.

Talk is cheap, prove it.

Trump took Putin's side over the USA own Intel Community warning him about Russia's involvement in our "free" election.

Talk to me after the investigations into the legality of the FISA warrants are done. Then we can discuss our "intelligence Community".

Putin wanted America out of Syria, so Russia might control the flow of oil from the war-ravaged regions of the Middle East and have leverage over Europe.

Are we still in Syria? How about Iraq? How about Afghanistan? We should be long gone from all three countries. Are you claiming that we are in Syria for regime change? That is not the intended purpose according to Obama who entered Syria w/o a declaration of war or approval from Congress under the broad powers of the War on Terror. ISIS/ISIL is no longer an organized military force in Syria. The small guerrilla forces that are left can be handled by Russia, China, the Syrian government, and Iran. Unless you want to send an occupying force to Syria and try to root the rest of them out? I am sure Syria, Russia, China, and the Syrian government will sit idly by and allow that to happen. Sorry, regime change is not on the table. We never should have gotten involved in their civil war to begin with.

Putin wants the EU broken up. It is a threat to his expansion plans in Europe. Trump supports BREXIT.

Brexit vote happened under Obama's watch. He was against it and the Brits didn't care what he thought. Guess what they don't care what Trump thinks either. Britain is not a property of the US.

Don't give me the congress passed them blather, if Trump VETOs them chances are Congress doesn't muster the 2/3rd's votes needed to override it.

That is an utterly clueless statement. Only 5 members of Congress, that's the Senate AND the House, voted against Russian sanctions. That would EASILY blow past the 2/3rds margin.

Oh and BTFW, Trump failed to follow through with imposing all of those sanctions.

Russia needs Assad in charge of a stable Syria to keep all of those things.

The LAST thing Russia wants is a stable Syria. It's much harder to rape and pillage a stable country.

Nope, Trump is forcing NATO countries to increase their military expenditures and meet their commitments. How the hell does that help Russia! Putin wants NATO weak, not getting stronger.

Wait WHAT? Didn't Trump say that the whole purpose of NATO countries meeting their commitments to allow the US to REDUCE the amount we contribute? That wouldn't make NATO 'stronger', it would merely keep the status quo.

MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell just could not contain himself. In his eagerness to defeat President Donald J. Trump he rushed out on his show Tuesday night to report that a source close to the matter told him that Deutsche Bank had President Donald J. Trump's tax returns, they confirmed he paid little to no taxes, and that, here's what O'Donnell said was the huge bombshell, that the Trumpster had loans co-signed with Russian oligarchs close to Vladimir Putin. The only problem with this? It was based off a "single source," O'Donnell's employer never confirmed the story, and even Deutsche Bank is refusing to confirm the story.

I would have wanted Obama out of office. And truthfully, when Trumplethinskin won the election, I hoped I was wrong. I even wrote an article on another site congratulating those whose candidate won and in that article I said I would wait and hold judgment on him and his ability to govern the country.

Little list indeed. How about this little list:

What do Paul Manafort, Rick Gates, Konstantin Kilimnik, Lt. General Michael Flynn, Roger Stone, Michael Cohen, Rick Gates, George Papadopoulos, Alex Van Der Zwaan, and Richard Pinedo have in common? Can you say "indictment"?

Now you're lying.

O'Donnell apologized for publishing a story based on a single source.  That doesn't the story a lie, it means it is unverified (so far).  Here is a transcript of his actual apology:

Last night on this show, I discussed information that wasn`t ready for

reporting.  I repeated statements a single source told me about the

president`s finances and loan documents with Deutsche Bank, saying “if

true” as I discussed the information was simply not good enough.  I did not

go through the rigorous verification and standards process here at MSNBC

before repeating what I heard from my source.

Had it gone through that process, I would not have been permitted to report

it.  I should not have said it on air or posted it on Twitter.  I was wrong

to do so.

This afternoon, attorneys for the president sent us a letter asserting the

story is false.  They also demanded a retraction.

Tonight, we are retracting the story.  We don`t know whether the

information is inaccurate.  But the fact is, we do know it wasn`t ready for

broadcast, and for that I apologize.

On the other hand, Trump entered politics based upon a lie that he repeated many times for five years.   Trump eventually retracted his lie butt he never apologized for it.  Instead of an apology, The Donald lied again and tried to blame his lie on Hillary:

Donald Trump admits President Obama was born in US

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has finally acknowledged that President Obama was born in the US.

Speaking at a news conference, Mr Trump tried to blame Democratic rival Hillary Clinton for the so-called the "birther" movement that questioned Hawaii-born Mr Obama's citizenship.

The "birther movement" is a conspiracy theory that Mr Obama was actually born in Kenya and is therefore ineligible to be president.

Reports in various US publications suggest it was circulated in 2008 by die-hard supporters of Mrs Clinton as it became clear that she was not going to win the Democratic nomination.

However there is no evidence that Mrs Clinton or her then campaign had anything to do with it.

unverified

adjective
un·verified | \ "+ \

Definition of unverified

: not verified : lacking substantiation

Now lets check the definition of "lie":

Where is ISIS right now ?

As of July 2019, here:

Islamic State militants who escaped the defeat of their self-described caliphate in Syria earlier this year have been slipping across the border into Iraq, bolstering a low-level insurgency the group is now waging across the central and northern part of the country, according to security officials.

About 1,000 fighters have crossed into Iraq during the past eight months, most of them in the aftermath of the caliphate’s collapse in March, said Hisham al-Hashimi, a security analyst who advises Iraq’s government and foreign aid agencies.

Those fighters, mostly Iraqis who followed ISIS into Syria, are now returning home to join militant cells that have been digging into rugged rural areas, sustained by intimate knowledge of the local terrain, including concealed tunnels and other hiding places.

The militants move under the cover of darkness to carry out sniper attacks and rudimentary roadside bombings several times per week.

Their attacks, occurring outside major cities, are often opportunistic and primarily target community leaders and security forces involved in efforts to root them out. An explosion earlier this month in the northern city of Kirkuk killed two motorcyclists. A separate attack in Diyala, in eastern Iraq, targeted militiamen assigned with hunting down militants.

An Entire 1,000 went to Iraq ? Really ? WOW !

I guess Iraq needs to step up a bit huh ! It's less persons than a Beto Rally !

"The militants move under the cover of darkness to carry out sniper attacks"

"Militants" have been doing things like that for decades and decades, even before the ISIS name !

Your point ?

Where is ISIS right now ?

ISIS is making a resurgence in Iraq (read Cobalt's comment) and ISIS has also emerged in Afghanistan.

The Islamic State is far from defeated. Here’s what you need to know about its affiliate in Afghanistan.
August 19

The Islamic State claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing that killed 63 and wounded nearly 200 people at a wedding in Kabul over the weekend, signaling the group’s enduring reach and underscoring one of the challenges to a U.S. and Taliban peace negotiation.

The militant group lost its self-proclaimed caliphate in Iraq and Syria earlier this year. But Saturday’s bombing showed that the Islamic State remains a potent force beyond the borders it once claimed and fixed a glare on one of its lesser known but growing affiliates: the Islamic State in Khorasan, as the Afghanistan branch is known.

______

The number of Islamic State affiliated fighters in Afghanistan has grown to include between 2,500 and 4,000, according to a recent estimate by the United Nations. They’re still mostly concentrated in Nangahar — but the wedding bombing in Kabul on Saturday highlighted the group’s growing reach, according to Michael Kugelman, a South Asia specialist at the Wilson Center.

Your point

Nobody could be this obtuse on purpose. My point is I answered when you asked where ISIS is right now. Your more intelligent right leaning friends are not appreciating you right now, IIM. Your attempt at intellectual banter is fruitless and a bit embarrassing for your side.

Actually, if not for the clumsy attempt at commentary, I would think you're a "demmie" trying to embarrass the right. Take this for instance:

Remind me where the corruption is again ?

Now, you probably are thinking that the little Russian collusion thingie corruption, but since I think you're a leftist mole trying to embarrass the right by arriving at an intellectual duel wielding only a spork (again), I suggest you read a little. He's morally corrupt. He's financially corrupt.

While I appreciate your attempt to assist the left leaners by challenging them to dialogue that yet again points out how morally, intellectually and, more importantly, personally corrupt the Liar In Chief is so that the right would only wish you would not "help" them, your obvious attempt to make the left's point is stinky to me. Thanks though. I don't generally respond to inane, obtuse and just plain ignorant comments, and left leaners prefer to state their case without trickery.

Nice talking to you, but please do not try to embarrass the right leaners by feigning being one. There are some that are willing to debate politely and with reasoning, so attempting to bring ridicule to them is not nice.

This is a short list. It's a beautiful day and I prefer to be out in it.

Unverified Sean Hannity:

Says 642,000 crimes were committed against Texans by criminal immigrants in a recent seven-year period. 3.23.18

The United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit is "the most overturned court in the country." 2.10.17

"All of Texas is conservative, except a little bit of Austin." 8.26.16

Unverified Alex Jones:

There won't be a recount in Alabama because a Democratic judge said "we're going to erase all the computer files ... on Wednesday morning." 12.14.17

Emails show Democrats, Hillary Clinton and George Soros instigated and orchestrated racial protests in Charlottesville by trying to "control" and keep people "desperate." He also stated that the neo-nazis were from central casting. 8.14.17

Says police officers smoke marijuana once a year as part of their jobs. 5.5.17

Unverified Rush Limbaugh:

"Somebody in the Obama regime decided to get rid of" the citizenship question in the census.   7.15.19

"It appears that the (Jacksonville) shooter was part of the Trump 'Resistance'."  8.28.18

Says "11 straight years of no major hurricanes striking land" in the United States "bores a hole right through the whole climate change argument."    10.17.16

The children coming across the southern U.S. border "were never examined after they got here and quarantined if they had a disease. They were just sent out across the country. Many of them had measles ... We now have an outbreak of it all because of our immigration policy." 2.5.15

Of course, not one of them came out an said that it had not yet been verified and that perhaps they spoke too soon. And mind you, these are very short lists by very few of the Traitor In Chief's favorite news commentators. And they're all lies. Whether O'Donnell's as yet unverified statement is ultimately proven to be true is a wait-and-see.

Former U.S. Navy intelligence expert Malcolm Nance said in an interview that aired Wednesday on "Rising" that   President Trump   wants the same kind of authority held by the Russian oligarchy.

"He has grown up knowing nothing, but what he has grown up is how to convince people to vote against their own interests. What he wants is, he wants a nation that is no longer America," Nance, a frequent Trump critic, told Hill.TV earlier this month.

“He wants to be like the Russian oligarchy. He wants to be able to say that laws are laws, and they happen. Technically he wants to be King George III," he continued.

“John Adams had something to say about that. He said we would eventually vote in a tyrant, but he would never have thought that we would have a Congress that would say that a tyranny is the way that America should be governed," he said.

I guess you have far more credibility than Malco l m Nance.

Nance served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, from 1981 to 2001, receiving several military decorations . As a U.S. Navy specialist in Naval Cryptology, Nance was involved in numerous counter-terrorism, intelligence, and combat operations. He garnered expertise within the fields of intelligence and counterterrorism. He was also an instructor in wartime and peacetime Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE), training Navy and Marine Corps pilots and aircrew how to survive as a prisoner of war . There Nance helped to initiate the Advanced Terrorism, Abduction and Hostage Survival course of instruction.

Nance took part in combat operations that occurred after the 1983 Beirut barracks bombings , was peripherally involved with the 1986 United States bombing of Libya , served on USS Wainwright during Operation Praying Mantis and was aboard during the sinking of the Iranian missile boat Joshan , served on USS Tripoli during the Gulf War , and assisted during a Banja Luka, Bosnia air strike .

O'Donnell has already retracted his claim because the lying sack of shit was about to get sued for defamation.

Here's the copy&pastie from your source (complete text):

New York (CNN Business) MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell said he was "wrong" to report a thinly sourced story about President Trump's finances on his prime time show Tuesday night.

"Last night I made an error in judgment by reporting an item about the president's finances that didn't go through our rigorous verification and standards process," O'Donnell said in a tweet Wednesday afternoon. "I shouldn't have reported it and I was wrong to discuss it on the air. I will address the issue on my show tonight."
The about-face came shortly after an attorney for Trump and the Trump Organization sent a letter to NBC demanding the network "immediately and prominently" retract and apologize for what the attorney described as "false and defamatory" reporting.
O'Donnell on Tuesday night offered his audience an explosive story on Trump's finances -- a story he later stressed came from a single source, that NBC had not verified, and that would "require a lot more verification" to be confirmed as fact.
On his program, O'Donnell reported that Trump received loans from Deutsche Bank that had been co-signed by " Russian billionaires close to Vladimir Putin."
The MSNBC anchor cited a "source close to Deutsche Bank" for his reporting.
While discussing his reporting, O'Donnell repeatedly said he wanted to stress that "if true" it would be a huge development.
"I stress 'if true,' because this is a single source," O'Donnell said at one point.
Later in his program, O'Donnell plainly said NBC News had not verified his reporting.
"I want to stress that is a single source, that has not been confirmed by NBC News," O'Donnell said. "I have not seen any documentation from Deutsche Bank that supports this and verifies this. This is just a single source who has revealed that to me."
O'Donnell then added, "And that's where it stands at this point, its going to require a lot more verification before that can be a confirmable fact."
It's not clear how O'Donnell's reporting made it to air, given that NBC News was unable to verify his reporting.
Hopefully, we will find out if the "single source" is accurate when Congress receives the documents from Deutsche Bank.  So far nobody can dispute these claims because the Deutsche Bank has not released the documents and Trump still refuses to release his tax returns .

This is the most irresponsible brand of journalism: "You have to hear this thing! It might not be true, and I have no way of proving it's true, but you should definitely listen to it and ponder how awful it would be if it were true. In fact, we're going to have a panel on to discuss the ramifications of this terrible thing that I just made up." That shit is on TV every night.

Which "thinking people" do you reference ?

.

"scumbag with a television show tried to get the nation riled up over an accusation he couldn't prove"   Are you referring O'Donell    or THE DONALD ?

His Birther Shit, and the loads he does spit, and NO ONE should swallow, compare how, to O'donnell's quote of a source, he DID CLAIM was not yet confirmed ?

Do U realize, F Trumpp

released his tax returns, that he had promised to do dozens of times, he could easily verify, O'Donnal is CORRECT

.

"now he's squirming and having to apologize"     Ever notice how Trumpp is constantly making others squirm as he is a worm, yet NEVER apologizes, yet you hold Lawrence to a higher standard than that who holds the Highest Office in the land. Wish to explain ghat ?

.

Trumpp could easily "demonstrate otherwise", but he doesn't wish to be your guest, i guess, and if you are bored, wood you not wish to be shellacked all the time ?

Like how Hillary had Seth Rich assassinated? Or that she was running a sex ring out of a pizza parlor? Or that one of the soldiers killed in Nigeria was really a Muslim terrorist? Or that one of the Roy Moore accusers had been arrested for lying? Or that NPR had reported 25 million votes for Hillary were fraudulent? Or that "thousands" in Jersey City were cheering when the towers fell? Or that Senator Kamala Harris said she will seek “vengeance” against supporters of President Donald Trump? Or perhaps the fake news claim that Obama detained more children at the border than Trump? Or that the Clinton's had Epstein killed? Or the false claim that the camera malfunctioned in Epstein's cell? Or that Speaker Pelosi offered not to pursue impeachment if all undocumented immigrants were given full amnesty? Or that Elijah Cummings  “wrote a bill to keep all of Obama’s record sealed.”? Or the false claims that AOC said "We Pay Soldiers Too Much" and "truck drivers are destroying America"? Or that each month refugees in the United States receive over three times more money in “federal assistance” than Social Security beneficiaries? Or perhaps the completely bogus claim that Ronald Reagan said “For the life of me, and I’ll never know how to explain it, when I met that young man, I felt like I was the one shaking hands with a president,” about Trump? Or the fake claim that ‘Trump’ was said 1,326 times, ‘Free’ was said 683 times, Spanish was spoken 14 times, and ‘America’ was only said twice,” at the Democrat debates?

I guess the Republican political strategy is to just throw so much bullshit out there that their poorly educated base won't be able to tell the difference and just gobble up their shit sandwich without bothering to even taste it...

It appears at least MSNBC had the dignity to retract the claim, which hasn't been proved false, it just hasn't been verified yet. If Fox and every other right wing rag had to retract their false stories they would be left with nothing to continually get outraged about and lose all their viewership.

Trump's supporters compare him to Jesus when they should compare him to L. Ron Hubbard, a malignant narcissist and the founder of the Church of Scientology who, like Trump, allegedly didn't pay his taxes. But even this comparison is inexact. Hubbard, a prolific science-fiction writer, started a religion by design, supposedly as a way to get rich, whereas Trump became a cult leader haphazardly, when he ran for president and accidentally won. Trump's previous experience consisted of multiple failures, in business and in marriage, but he managed to con a party and then a nation into electing him. "Failure in the management of practical affairs seems to be a qualification for success in the management of public affairs," Eric Hoffer wrote in  The True Believer .

Belief often requires a multitude of unbeliefs. If you believe Trump, you cannot believe anyone else. Trump put this explicitly last year when he  admonished  his followers, "Just stick with us. Don't believe the crap you see from these people — the fake news ... Just remember: What you're seeing and what you're reading is not what's happening."

People believe Trump because they want to be deceived. In her book  The Confidence Game: The Psychology of the Con and Why We Fall for It Every Time , Maria Konnikova writes, "The true con artist doesn't force us to do anything; he makes us complicit in our own undoing. He doesn't steal. We give. He doesn't have to threaten us. We supply the story ourselves. We believe because we want to, not because anyone made us."

An evangelical told me that God put Trump in the White House "for a reason." Maybe the reason is to teach us a lesson: Don't ever do this again.

lying sack of shit was about to get sued for defamation

Oh yeah. It'll happen. Not. You don't know much about law, do you? There's this little thing called 'discovery.'

... Former federal prosecutor Renato Mariotti addressed the overall risk in pursuing defamation lawsuits, particularly where the truth of the matter may not be something a plaintiff wants to be public.

“Ordinarily these suits backfire because the person bringing the suit puts the truth of the underlying statement at issue, opening up discovery on the underlying issue, which often they do not want in the public eye,” Mariotti tweeted.

CNN analyst, lawyer and former FBI Special Agent Asha Rangappa addressed the irony head-on, outright stating that a defamation lawsuit would require turning over the Deutsche Bank records.

“Trump’s lawyers deny claims that he has Russian guarantors on his loans. Remember that if he proceeds with a defamation suit, the underlying documents would have to be made available in discovery,” Rangappa said.

Let's see how far the defamation suit goes, shall we?

Tonight, Lawrence O'Donnell retracted the 'story' concerning Trump's loan situations citing that he was in error because he had only one source which could not be confirmed by other sources or actual documents.

O'Donnell went on to say that the White House strongly condemned his report and issued an apology which under the current circumstance is proper.

However and on the other hand, Donald J. Trump could easily put all of these ( questions and suspicions ) to rest if he would simply release his financials.

So, the only question to be asked is;  Why won't he?

In 2016 Trump said, in so many words, that if his tax returns were released he would lose the election.

That is one reason they were never released. This is a man who defrauded working class people who thought they were going to be taught real estate secrets by Trump. This is a man who cheated hundreds of contractors out of the agreed upon sum for work done. This is a man who lent his name to two pyramid schemes (multi level marketing), and who cheated on his taxes (along with his mother and father of all people).   He's a crook.  There is little doubt that he has done something shady with Russians. Little doubt at all.

O'Donnell didnt apologize for the story, he apologized for airing without proper sourcing.

So, since you claim it, can you PROVE it?

Just a partial list since it is SO DAMN MUCH will suffice.

You CAN do that, right?

You didn't pull that out of thin air, did you?

Surely Putin will be willing to help you out with that, right?

Can you disprove it? Hell, that shouldn't even come up on any presidential radar. But there it is for the world to see. I've never seen Russian interference ever come up on any other president-elect's radar. He's a criminal, he's traitor, he's a guy who wants to screw his daughter. His wife has done nude girl-on-girl "modeling" [read: porn]. He's a cheat and a liar. He's a guy who pays off hookers. He raw-dogged a hooker right after his wife gave birth.

That's fucking hilarious!

That's gotta be one of the most eloquent sentences ever written about Trump.

The Donald paid $130,000 hush money to a former Playboy playmate and another $130,000 in hush money to a porn star.  Trump is "individual #1" (co-conspirator) in the criminal case that put his lawyer Michael Cohen in prison for making those hush money payments.

I was at lunch with a few friends and the conversation turned to how many checks were made out to hookers by Trump so they wouldn't divulge any information. There was a bit of silence before one young woman threw down her fork and loudly said "EWWWW!" We thought she found something in her salad that wasn't right. She looks around the table and says, "omigawd. I just thought of what Frump looks like with 'orgasm face.'" At that point we all threw down our cutlery and simultaneous almost screamed "EWWWWWWWWWW!!!"

Reference Comment: I am making this a reference comment. I simply have neither time nor inclination to respond to each embarrassingly ridiculous comment here. This is a one fits all comment.

I cannot fathom how absurd some of these comments appear. After laughing my sweet little ass off, I realized how little credibility some of you own … all because you believe Trump makes the left cry. Because there are those that feel that Trump makes the left cry, they are willing to abandon their self-respect, they are willing to highlight their lack of character, they are willing to show us that they are unskilled socially and intellectually … all publicly. I don’t believe that anyone that is smart enough to type a meaningful sentence can validate any of the absurd commentary.

You have lost sight of the definitions of integrity and credibility haven’t you. You are so bent on showing the ‘lefties’ that you can support a president who is a serial cheater [of women, contractors, partners, vendors, etc.], and a total liar. He’s a simple traitor. He is verbally demeaning when people don’t agree with him. I don’t remember trumplethinskin ever saying ‘if it’s true’ about President Obama’s birthplace. Trump is ‘man’ who instead of saying “I never would abuse that woman”, says “She’s not my type; look at her.” He has publicly on several occasions said he wanted to “date” [read: screw] his daughter. He lies about the most inane shit ever. Trump is morally rudderless. Pizzagate was reported by irresponsible “journalists” as true and a gunman eventually appeared at the pizza house with a gun. Then this jackass tries arson on the place:

While officials haven’t released a motive for the fire, Jaselskis’ parents reportedly posted a YouTube video on Jan. 23 that suggested that a Satanic global pedophile ring, led by Clinton and other celebrities, ran the world, according to NBC News.

Do you think the conspiracists used the words, “if true”? Fuck no. They state shit as facts and the low intellect, lemming-like unAmerican shitholes take to the streets with guns.  You are gleefully stating that O'Donnell’s apology means O'Donnell is wrong. Actually he did nothing wrong. He did it out of his own moral obligation to wait until all facts were proven. Not that they won’t be proven, mind you. He just felt he left the gate a little early. That, what you don’t recognize [sadly], is credibility, integrity, character, dependability and reliability. It speaks volumes that you don’t recognize it for what it is. Good gosh. So many people should get a life, a real life, and try to regain a bit of self-respect.

Sad.

And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.

Obama made that statement 11 1/2 years ago and of course caught hell for it.  Seems to me he was pretty prophetic in describing many Trump supporters.

Lawrence O'Donnell got a little over zealous and should have known better,  but his offense is a drop in the bucket compared to the offenses of Trump, Fox News and other sources from the right.

And CB, you are totally right about Trumpsters, here and elsewhere just wanting to see liberals cry.  It is entirely in the Trumpster's imagination,  as we know.

Unfortunately, it's no longer liberals. They think liberals are crying when all we're doing is shaking our head. They're given to drama just like their feckless leader. Who are really crying are farmers, auto workers, those that are two months behind because of the 63 day shutdown. The Liar In Chief simply cannot keep a promise and he counts on the stupidity of his supporters to believe every single lie that comes out of that junk food eating piehole of his. And they do. Or pretend they do.

Here are some shreds for you:

2016 Presidential Campaign Hacking Fast Facts

CNN Library

November 2015 - The FBI reaches out to the DNC again, warning them that one of their computers is transmitting information back to Russia. DNC management later says that IT technicians failed to pass along the message that the system had been breached.
March 19, 2016 - Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta receives a phishing email masked as an alert from Google that another user had tried to access his account. It contains a link to a page where Podesta can change his password. He shares the email with a staffer from the campaign's help desk. The staffer replies with a typo - instead of typing "This is an illegitimate email," the staffer types "This is a legitimate email." Podesta follows the instructions and types a new password, allowing hackers to access his emails.
June 12, 2016 - During an interview on British television, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange says that the website has obtained and will publish a batch of Clinton emails.
June 14, 2016 - The Washington Post reports hackers working for the Russian government accessed the DNC's computer system, stealing oppositional research on Donald Trump and viewing staffers' emails and chat exchanges. The Kremlin, however, denies that the government was linked to the hack, and a US official tells CNN that investigators have not yet concluded that the cyberattack was directed by the Russian government.
June 15, 2016 - A cybersecurity firm hired by the DNC posts a public notice on its website describing an attack on the political committee's computer network by two groups associated with Russian intelligence. According to the post, two Russian-backed groups called "Cozy Bear" and "Fancy Bear" tunneled into the committee's computer system. In response, a blogger called Guccifer 2.0 claims that he alone conducted the hack, not the Russians. As proof, he posts internal DNC memos and opposition research on Trump. Furthermore, Guccifer 2.0 claims to have passed along thousands of files to WikiLeaks. Trump offers his own theory on the origins of the attack: suggesting in a statement that the DNC hacked itself to distract from Clinton's email scandal.
July 22, 2016 - Days before the Democratic National Convention, WikiLeaks publishes nearly 20,000 emails hacked from the DNC server. The documents include notes in which DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz insults staffers from the Bernie Sanders campaign and messages that suggest the organization was favoring Clinton rather than remaining neutral. Wasserman Schultz resigns in the aftermath of the leak.
July 25, 2016 - The FBI announces it has launched an investigation into the DNC hack. Although the statement doesn't indicate that the agency has a particular suspect or suspects in mind, US officials tell CNN they think the cyberattack is linked to Russia.
August 12, 2016 - Hackers publish cell phone numbers and personal email addresses for Nancy Pelosi and other members of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
September 1, 2016 - During an interview with Bloomberg News, President Vladimir Putin says that he and the Russian government have no ties to the hackers. He says that the identity of the culprit or culprits is not as important as the content of the leaks, and ultimately the hackers revealed important information for voters.
September 22, 2016 - Democrats Dianne Feinstein and Adam Schiff, ranking members of the Senate and House Intelligence Committees, issue a joint statement declaring that based on information they received during congressional briefings, they believe that Russian intelligence agencies are carrying out a plan to interfere with the election. They call on Putin to order a halt to the activities.
September 26, 2016 - During a presidential debate with Clinton, Trump questions whether the DNC cyberattack was carried out by a state-sponsored group or a lone hacker. "It could be Russia, but it could also be China. It could also be lots of other people. It also could be somebody sitting on their bed that weighs 400 pounds."
October 6, 2016 - DCLeaks, a self-described collective of "hacktivists" seeking to expose the influence of special interests on elected officials, publishes a batch of documents stolen from Clinton ally Capricia Marshall. DCLeaks is later identified as a front for Russian military intelligence.
December 9, 2016 - The Washington Post reports the CIA has determined that Russian hacking was conducted to boost Trump and hurt Clinton during the presidential campaign . The Trump transition team dismisses the CIA's findings. President Obama asks intelligence agencies to review the hacking incidents in 2016 and other cyberattacks on political campaigns dating back to 2008. The agencies are asked to deliver their findings before Obama leaves office on January 20. A Russian foreign ministry spokesman expresses skepticism about the review and asks US investigators to share their evidence of government-sponsored cyber espionage. Meanwhile, media critics question the Post's reliance on anonymous sources for the CIA report and advise readers to be wary of claims in the article due to the lack of publicly available evidence to support the spy agency's conclusions.
December 11, 2016 - Sources tell CNN that although US intelligence agencies share the belief that Russia played a role in the computer hacks, there is disagreement between the CIA and the FBI about the intent of the meddling. While the CIA assessment shows that the Russians may have sought to damage Clinton and help Trump, the FBI has yet to find proof that the attacks were orchestrated to elect the Republican candidate, according to unnamed officials. Furthermore, some sources say the hackers also infiltrated the Republican National Committee's computers.
December 12, 2016 - CNN reports that Russian hackers accessed computer accounts of Republican lawmakers and GOP organizations. A source with knowledge of the investigation says that even though hackers breached the GOP computers, they opted not to release documents en masse.
December 13, 2016 - The New York Times publishes a detailed account of the DNC's delayed response to initial warnings in September of 2015 that its network had been infiltrated by hackers. The report outlines how phishing emails and communication failures led to a sweeping cyberattack. The story also lays out evidence that Guccifer 2.0 and DCLeaks were linked to Russia. A second article in the Times chronicles the hacking of Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, housed in the same building as the DNC. According to the report, Guccifer 2.0 stole tens of thousands of documents and offered them to reporters in districts where Democratic candidates were engaged in competitive races for House seats.
December 29, 2016 - President Obama issues an executive order with sanctions against Russia. The order names six Russian individuals who allegedly took part in the presidential campaign hacking. Additionally, 35 Russian diplomats are ordered to leave the US within 72 hours.
January 3, 2017 - Julian Assange of WikiLeaks says that the Russian government did not provide him with the hacked DNC emails during an interview with Sean Hannity on the Fox News Channel.
January 3-4, 2017 - In a series of tweets, Trump questions the US intelligence community's claims that the Russian government interfered with the election. He alleges that intelligence officials have delayed a scheduled meeting with him but sources tell CNN that there has been no change to the schedule. Trump also cites Assange's interview to back his assertion that a rogue hacker, not the Russian government, may have meddled in the election.
January 5-6, 2017 - Intelligence officials meet separately with Obama and Trump to present the results of their probe into cyber espionage during the presidential campaign. After the president and the president-elect are briefed, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence releases a declassified version of its classified report on Russian meddling . According to the report, hackers did not breach voting machines or computers that tallied election results but Russians meddled in other ways. Putin ordered a multifaceted influence campaign that included spreading pro-Trump propaganda online and hacking the DNC and Podesta. Bracing for a possible Clinton win, Russian bloggers were prepared to promote a hashtag #DemocracyRIP on election night. Paid social media users, aka "trolls," shared stories about Clinton controversies to create a cloud of scandal around her campaign.
January 6-7, 2017 - Trump issues a statement after his meeting with intelligence officials. In the statement, he acknowledges that the Russian government may have been linked to the DNC hacking but declares that cyberattacks did not impact the outcome of the election because voting machines were not breached. In a series of tweets, he repeats that hacking did not affect election results and says that he wants to improve relations with Russia.
March 10, 2017 - In an interview with the Washington Times, Trump ally Roger Stone says that he had limited interactions via Twitter with Guccifer 2.0 during the campaign. He says the exchanges were "completely innocuous." The following day, the New York Times publishes its own interview with Stone, in which he says that his communication with Guccifer 2.0 took place after the DNC hack, proving there was no collusion with the Trump campaign to arrange the cyber attack.
June 1, 2017 - In public remarks, Putin says that hacking during the presidential election campaign may have been carried out by patriotic Russian citizens who felt compelled to respond to perceived slights against Russia from America. Putin says, however, that the Russian government played no role in the cyber attacks. During an interview days later, Putin says that a child could have easily hacked the American presidential campaign.
June 5, 2017 - An investigative website, the Intercept posts a report that the Russian government coordinated a spear-phishing attack on computers at an American voting machine company and compromised at least one email account. The article is based on an NSA memo that was leaked to the Intercept. Hours after the story is published, the source of the leak is identified as a government contractor named Reality Leigh Winner, 25. She is charged with transmitting classified information.
July 25, 2017- A bipartisan bill limiting Trump's power to ease sanctions against Russia passes in the House by a 419-3 vote. The measure also imposes new sanctions on North Korea and Iran.
July 30, 2017 - Putin announces that 755 employees at US diplomatic missions in Russia will be ousted from their posts in response to sanctions.
September 6, 2017 - In a blog post, Facebook announces that more than 3,000 advertisements posted on the social network between June 2015 and May 2017 were linked to Russia. The Washington Post reports that the ads came from a Russian company called the Internet Research Agency.
September 22, 2017 - The DHS notifies select states that hackers targeted their election infrastructure before the vote on November 8, 2016. Although vote-counting systems were not impacted, computer networks containing voter info may have been scanned by Russian hackers. Some states reported attempts to infiltrate their computer systems.
October 12, 2017 - CNN publishes an investigation of Russian trolls who posed as a group of Black Lives Matter activists during the presidential campaign . They used a variety of platforms including Tumblr and Pokemon Go to reach voters.
July 13, 2018 - The Justice Department announces indictments against 12 members of the Russian intelligence agency, GRU, as part of special counsel Robert Mueller's ongoing investigation. The indictment accuses the Russians of engaging in a "sustained effort" to hack emails and computer networks associated with the Democratic party during the 2016 presidential campaign.
July 16, 2018 - During a joint press conference with Putin in Helsinki, Trump says that the Russian president was "extremely strong and powerful" in his denial that his country interfered with the 2016 election. Trump says, "I don't see any reason why it would be Russia." One day later, he clarifies his remark. "The sentence should have been, 'I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be Russia,'" Trump says. "Sort of a double negative."
March 22, 2019 - Mueller ends his investigation and delivers his report to Attorney General William Barr. A senior Justice Department official tells CNN that there will be no further indictments.
April 18, 2019 - A redacted version of Mueller's report is released. The first part of the 448-page document details the evidence gathered by Mueller's team on potential conspiracy crimes and explains their decisions not to charge individuals associated with the campaign.
