WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court is keeping pandemic-era limits on asylum in place for now, dashing hopes of migrants who have been fleeing violence and inequality in Latin America and elsewhere to reach the United States.

Tuesday's ruling preserves a major Trump-era policy that was scheduled to expire under a judge's order on Dec. 21. The case will be argued in February and a stay imposed last week by Chief Justice John Roberts will remain in place until the justices make a decision.

The limits, often known as Title 42 in reference to a 1944 public health law, were put in place under then-President Donald Trump at the beginning of the pandemic, but unwinding it has taken a torturous route through the courts. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention attempted to end the policy in April 2022, but a federal judge in Louisiana sided with 19 Republican-led states in May to order it kept in place. Another federal judge in Washington said in November that Title 42 must end, sending the dispute to the Supreme Court. Officials have expelled asylum-seekers inside the United States 2.5 million times on grounds of preventing the spread of COVID-19.

Immigration advocates sued to end the policy, saying it goes against American and international obligations to people fleeing to the U.S. to escape persecution. They've also argued that the policy is outdated as coronavirus treatments improve.

The Supreme Court's 5-4 decision comes as thousands of migrants have gathered on the Mexican side of the border, filling shelters and worrying advocates who are scrambling to figure out how to care for them.

"We are deeply disappointed for all the desperate asylum seekers who will continue to suffer because of Title 42, but we will continue fighting to eventually end the policy," said Lee Gelernt, a lawyer with the American Civil Liberties Union, which had been arguing to end Title 42′s use.

Andrea Rudnik, co-founder of non-profit immigration aid organization Team Brownsville in South Texas, said the situation at the border is a humanitarian crisis. She said there are thousands of migrants camped on cardboard boxes and in makeshift tents near the entrance of the Gateway International Bridge in Matamoros, Mexico, opposite Brownsville, without food, water, clothing or bathrooms.

"It is very readily becoming a dangerous situation because there's no toilets," Rudnik said. "Get that many people together with no bathrooms and you know what you have got."

States that wanted Title 42 kept in place hailed the outcome. In a press release Tuesday, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds praised the court's decision while saying it's not a permanent solution to the country's immigration woes.

"I'm grateful that Title 42 remains in place to help deter illegal entry at the US southern border. But make no mistake — this is only a temporary fix to a crisis that President Biden and his administration have ignored for two years," she said.

The Supreme Court's decision said that the court will review the issue of whether the states have the right to intervene in the legal fight over Title 42. Both the federal government and immigration advocates have argued that the states waited too long to intervene and — even if they hadn't waited so long — that they don't have sufficient standing to intervene.

In the dissent, Justices Neil Gorsuch and Ketanji Brown Jackson wrote that even if the court were to find the states have the right to intervene and Title 42 was lawfully adopted "... the emergency on which those orders were premised has long since lapsed."

The justices said the "current border crisis is not a COVID crisis."

"And courts should not be in the business of perpetuating administrative edicts designed for one emergency only because elected officials have failed to address a different emergency. We are a court of law, not policymakers of last resort," the justices wrote.

Justices Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor also voted to deny the stay but did not sign a dissent.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Tuesday that President Joe Biden's administration "will, of course, comply with the order and prepare for the Court's review."

"At the same time, we are advancing our preparations to manage the border in a secure, orderly, and humane way when Title 42 eventually lifts and will continue expanding legal pathways for immigration," Jean-Pierre added. "Title 42 is a public health measure, not an immigration enforcement measure, and it should not be extended indefinitely."

In November, a federal judge sided with advocates and set a Dec. 21 deadline to end the policy. Conservative-leaning states appealed to the Supreme Court, warning that an increase in migration would take a toll on public services and cause an "unprecedented calamity" that they said the federal government had no plan to deal with.

Roberts, who handles emergency matters that come from federal courts in the nation's capital, issued a stay to give the court time to more fully consider both sides' arguments.

The federal government asked the Supreme Court to reject the states' effort while also acknowledging that ending the restrictions abruptly would likely lead to "disruption and a temporary increase in unlawful border crossings."

The precise issue before the court is a complicated, largely procedural question of whether the states should be allowed to intervene in the lawsuit. A similar group of states won a lower court order in a different court district preventing the end of the restrictions after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced in April that it was ending use of the policy.

Until the judge's November order in the advocates' lawsuit, the states had not sought to take part in that case. But they say that the administration has essentially abandoned its defense of the Title 42 policy and they should be able to step in. The administration has appealed the ruling, though it has not tried to keep Title 42 in place while the legal case plays out.

The Biden administration still has considerable leeway to enforce Title 42 as aggressively or as leniently as it chooses. For example, when a judge ordered last year that Trump's "Remain in Mexico" policy to make asylum-seekers wait in Mexico for hearings in U.S. immigration court be reinstated, it did so with such limited scope that it had little impact. That policy ended in August after the administration prevailed in the Supreme Court.

The Biden administration's use of Title 42 includes an opaque, bewildering patchwork of exemptions that are supposed to be for migrants deemed most vulnerable in Mexico, perhaps for gender identity or sexual orientation, or for being specifically threatened with violence. U.S. Customs and Border Protection works with partners it doesn't publicly identify and doesn't say how many slots are made available to each.

Mexico is another wild card. The use of Title 42 to quickly expel migrants depends largely on Mexico's willingness to accept them. Right now Mexico takes expelled migrants from Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Venezuela, in addition to Mexico, but not other countries, such as Cuba. Most asylum seekers who cannot be sent to Mexico are not expelled.

Biden is scheduled meet with Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador in Mexico City next month.

It's sad that there is no way to test migrants for COVID.

Oh, wait... there's a test (and vaccines and treatments).

Butt, we all know, the immigration policy is what really needs to be cured.

Yes, Trump set the "Gold Standard" for so many of America's finest policies. We should praise "Dirty Diaper Donnie", not indict him as a "Traitor", Con Artist, Grifter, Crook, and Russian compromised businessman with extensive financial connections to Putin's Russia.

That would be so non-republicans256 , don't you think?

A platitude off a statue is not an immigration law.

We have immigration laws. We have borders. Neither are being enforced.

It's sad that there is no way to test migrants for COVID. Oh, wait... there's a test (and vaccines and treatments).

Talk to Brandon. He has been in charge for the last two years. Still no mandatory testing and forced vaccinations in place for illegal immigrants. He only deems that necessary for the military; federal workers; and federal contractors. He doesn't want to violate any illegal immigrants' rights.

Butt, we all know, the immigration policy is what really needs to be cured.

Been there done that with Reagan and the Democrats. Democrats got the general amnesty they wanted. Border is still wide open. Immigration law enforcement is still a joke whenever a Democrat is in the White House.

So would Reagan agree to do it again for the estimated 11-12 million illegal immigrants living here now? Apparently not.

Robinson relies on Ed Meese, Reagan's Attorney General and close advisor, to explain to him that Reagan did, after all, sign a bill that increased border control personnel 50 percent and also workplace enforcement. That law made "hiring undocumented workers a crime, requiring employers to attest to their workers' legal status." Too bad, in order to comply those hiring could evade responsibility by accepting any form of documentation, fraudulent or not.

In the end, Robinson concludes Reagan would now opt for an "Enforcement First" policy. Reforms intended to normalize the status of illegal immigrants "would simply have to wait, yielding to a single imperative: restoring the rule of law." Before enacting new statues, Reagan would have insisted, the federal government must enforce those on the books. It must "regain control of borders."

Apparently in response to Meese's remedial tutorial, Robinson ventures to say that "The fate of the Immigration Reform and Control Act would have infuriated him" [Reagan] because "he never envisioned immigration as chaotic or ungoverned."

Reagan was a man who examined history and learned from it. Having been burned once by the 1986 Immigration and Control Act's failed efforts to control illegal immigration through actual and effective workplace verification procedures instead of loophole-ridden symbolic measures, it is easy to envision President Reagan giving an oval office address on legal immigrants and workplace enforcement slightly altering words he had famously applied to another problem , arms control, plagued by a decade failed policy efforts: "Welcome, but verify!"

Brandon and the Democrats have to prove they are willing to enforce our borders and immigration laws as is. Before there is any talk of immigration reform.

The crisis on the border was not created by Biden. It has been a problem since Texas stole Mexico's territory, and called it Tex-Ass!

Sam Houston quite adroitly, asked the US to fight the Mexicans to keep the stolen land safe, so Texas might always be a free country of its own and a sometimes state for the "bennies".

Perhaps, just perhaps that is because it gets magnified when a Democrat is President. Look at today? Look at the Obama days and his touting of the DACA program which many invariably interpreted it the same way they do today.

"Hey Trump the hardass is out of office and they quit building the wall so I guess it's okay to head North..

There would be a US-Mexican border regardless of Texas, the line would just be north of Texas.

The Spanish first stole this land then various Mexican attempts at governing attempted to keep up but had trouble controlling the local Comanche, so they invited Anglo settles to the region.

When Santa Anna sought to suspended the constitution and placed all federal power in his hands, a Mexican civil war started. Three new governments declared independence: the Republic if Texas, the Republic of Yucatan and the Republic of Rio Grande.

So, what are all the border guards doing, inviting immigrants to come into our country illegally

Stop confusing BP with Democrats. The BP are following Brandon's orders. The majority have been pulled off the border, and their jobs protecting it, to process the massive influx of illegals caused by Brandon and the Democrats rescinding Trump EO's, and stopping wall construction,  that were working keeping the border closed.

so they might be shipped humanely to democrat states and dumped off like cattle?

Again, talk to Brandon. He is letting border states and cities deal with the overwhelming influx of illegals that he is doing nothing about. Republican border state governors are just sharing the pain. Brandon isn't helping Democrat bastion of stupidity sanctuary cities either. He doesn't give a shit about illegal immigrants. His job is get them into the US and not allow them to be deported. What happens to them is on the states and cities where they reside.

The crisis on the border was not created by Biden. It has been a problem since Texas stole Mexico's territory, and called it Tex-Ass!

Not sure which part to handle first. Your complete lack of awareness of when the current crisis on the border started; or lack of knowledge of geography. There are other border states that are suffering from a massive influx of illegals. Arizona, New Mexico, and California also border Mexico as well.

YUMA, Arizona ( Border Report ) — You have probably never heard of the Yuma Gap, but many migrants from all over the world are certainly finding out about it.

It’s located in a small corner along the southern border where Arizona, California and Mexico intersect.

The border barrier is here, but there are many areas where it’s open and not connected.

Across the agency’s 262-mile Tucson Sector, from Douglas and Nogales, to Arivaca, Ajo and onto the Tohono O’odham Reservation, illegal crossers keep coming, lines of them wearing camouflage clothing and carpet booties to throw off trackers.

They trek over our mountains and deserts and cram into the trunks of load vehicles. Border Patrol is overwhelmed. Their radios squawk nonstop.

In fiscal 2021, Tucson Sector agents recorded 120,509 arrests, almost as many as the previous four years combined, according to agency statistics. So far in fiscal 2022, arrests are up 73 percent over that.

A growing number are not the desperately poor of popular belief. They dress in nice clothes and have newer iPhones than the agents who encounter them.

Some say arrests looks worse than they are because of a Trump-era public health policy, still in effect, intended to deal with COVID. Known as Title 42, it allows border officials to quickly push crossers back into Mexico. About 35 percent of them are arrested again, boosting the numbers.

But annual arrest numbers have always included multiple arrests of the same individual, and Border Patrol says the arrest recidivism rate has remained steady at around 35 percent since the 1990s.

The argument also fails to acknowledge the large number of gotaways, those who are spotted but evade capture. This summer, after Biden forced him out as Border Patrol’s chief, Rodney Scott said in TV interviews that there were more than 400,000 known gotaways across the Southwest border last year.

A fourth of those—120,000—passed through the Tucson Sector, according to the agency. These are people walking into the country unchecked for possible criminal backgrounds and almost certainly unvaccinated.

Of those arrested in the Sector last year, 1,743 had prior criminal convictions in the U.S. The worst of the worst show up on the Sector’s Facebook page as significant arrests (see sidebar).

On a single day, Oct. 25, agents working near Bisbee arrested three felons previously convicted in the U.S.—for sodomy in Georgia, for lewd and lascivious acts with a child in California, and for assault with a deadly weapon, also in California.

To be sure, these dangerous individuals make up a small percentage of those crossing. But we can also be sure there are many more criminals of every kind among the gotaways.

Please tell us all when the border was this bad before? When there was two years straight of record breaking illegal immigrant crossings with no end in sight? With 2023 promising to set a new record already.

Strom Thurmond was a fucking racist.  He was also a molestor and committed statutory rape.

Thurmond was a member of the Democratic Party until 1964, when he joined the Republican Party for the remainder of his legislative career. He also ran for president in 1948 as the Dixiecrat candidate, receiving over a million votes and winning four states.

A staunch opponent of civil rights legislation in the 1950s and 1960s, Thurmond conducted the longest speaking filibuster ever by a lone senator, at 24 hours and 18 minutes in length, in opposition to the Civil Rights Act of 1957 . [2] In the 1960s, he voted against the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

*****

First daughter with Carrie Butler

Six months after Thurmond's death in 2003, Essie Mae Washington-Williams (1925–2013) publicly revealed she was his daughter. She was born on October 12, 1925, to Carrie "Tunch" Butler (1909 or 1910 – 1948), who had worked for Thurmond's parents and was 15 or 16 years old when she gave birth

Sexual misconduct allegations [ edit ]

According to NBC News in 2017, it was widely acknowledged around Congress that Thurmond inappropriately touched women throughout his career. [313] Thurmond's colleague, Senator Patty Murray , stated that in early 1994, Thurmond, then 91, tried to fondle her breast in an elevator. [314] According to The New York Times , Thurmond had been known for fondling women in Senate elevators, and did not realize Murray was a fellow senator. [3] The alleged incident prompted a statement from Thurmond's office, saying that he had not engaged in any inappropriate behavior, and that he was showing gentlemanly courtesy by assisting Murray into the elevator. [314] Female Senate staffers from the late 1980s and early 1990s recalled that Thurmond was on an informal list of male senators who were known for harassing women regularly, such as while alone in elevators. [315]

Political reporter Cokie Roberts said in 2017 that Thurmond kissed her on the mouth, while she was live on the air at a political convention. Roberts stated that Thurmond "was in the category of his own" when it came to politicians and sexual harassment.

Ku Klux Klan newspaper declares support for Trump

By Reuters Staff

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A Ku Klux Klan newspaper has declared support for Donald Trump’s Republican run for U.S. president , saying America became great because it was a white, Christian republic.

The Crusader, one of the white supremacist group’s most prominent publications, published a lengthy endorsement and defence of Trump’s message on the front page of its current issue under the headline: “Make America Great Again.”

The KKK’s official newspaper is gushing about Donald Trump’s message

This should be more shocking than it is.

The Ku Klux Klan’s official newspaper, the Crusader, has written a gushing front-page article about the importance of Donald Trump’s campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.”

The importance to white supremacists, that is.

The KKK just formally endorsed Trump, citing their shared values. Don't forget this when you choose what side of history you want to be on. pic.twitter.com/0aiXIcfeif — Ted Geoghegan (@tedgeoghegan) November 1, 2016

Reached by phone, Robb told The Washington Post that while the Crusader wasn’t officially endorsing Trump, his article signaled the publication's enthusiastic support for the Republican billionaire's candidacy. "Overall, we do like his nationalist views and his words about shutting down the border to illegal aliens," Robb said. "It’s not an endorsement because, like anybody, there's things you disagree with. But he kind of reflects what’s happening throughout the world. There seems to be a surge of nationalism worldwide as nationals reclaim their borders."

I'm just posting EVIDENCE that those claims are fucking bullshit.

Historically, the Democrats were a conservative white supremacist party.

Since the 1964 Vivil Rights Act,  Democrats have evolved Into a liberal party that is opposed to the fucking KKK.

In 1860 the Republicans, led by Abraham Lincoln, were the  liberal party.

Unfortunately the Retrumplian party has evolved into the party that embraces the KKK (on the down-low).

Fact check: Photograph does not show Robert Byrd; Byrd was not the Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan

By Reuters Staff

Social media users have been sharing a photograph online and claiming that it shows Senator Robert Byrd as the Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK). The photograph does not portray Byrd. Byrd was never the Grand Wizard of the KKK.

**************

At the time of his death, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), a leading civil rights organization formed in 1909 for the advancement of racial equality and elimination of racial discrimination, issued a statement mourning his passing. The NAACP’s President and CEO remarked: “Senator Byrd reflects the transformative power of this nation. Senator Byrd went from being an active member of the KKK to a being a stalwart supporter of the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act and many other pieces of seminal legislation that advanced the civil rights and liberties of our country”.

Biden did extend the Trump timeline in an attempt to extract as many people as possible

Withdrawal of United States troops from Afghanistan (2020–2021)

The United States Armed Forces completed their withdrawal from Afghanistan on 30 August 2021, marking the end of the 2001–2021 war . In February 2020, the Trump administration and the Taliban , without the participation of the then Afghan government , signed the US–Taliban deal in Doha , Qatar , [7] which stipulated fighting restrictions for both the US and the Taliban, and provided for the withdrawal of all NATO forces from Afghanistan in return for the Taliban's counter-terrorism commitments. The Trump administration's US–Taliban deal, and then the Biden administration ’s decision in April 2021 to pull out all US troops by September 2021 without leaving a residual force, were the two critical events that caused the collapse of the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF). [8] Following the deal, the US dramatically reduced the number of air attacks and deprived the ANSF of a critical edge in fighting the Taliban insurgency , leading to the Taliban takeover of Kabul on 15 August 2021. [9]

As part of the US–Taliban deal, the Trump administration agreed to an initial reduction of US forces from 13,000 to 8,600 troops by July 2020, followed by a complete withdrawal by 1 May 2021 , if the Taliban kept its commitments. [10] At the start of the Biden administration, there were 2,500 US soldiers in Afghanistan and, in April 2021, Biden said the US would not begin withdrawing these soldiers before 1 May, but would complete the withdrawal by 11 September. The Taliban began a final offensive on 1 May and, on 8 July, Biden specified a new completion date of 31 August.

This is the problem with this country. People get to make ridiculous comments like yours without anyone getting in their face.

Ashley Babbit was climbing through a broken door that had been  locked and barricaded . What about "locked and barricaded" makes you think she had a right to go in there. The spot where Babbit was shot was literally a few steps from the floor of the US House of Representatives. The cop that shot her had a duty to protect any members who may have been in that chamber as the mob tried to batter down the door and Babbitt took point.

The door to that hallway was locked and barricaded. When a mob breaches a door that they were clearly NOT allowed to enter it can be presumed they mean violence. Babbitt was a traitor to her country , who unfortunately met her demise through her own violent actions.

Except for the fact that he extended the time frame from May through August and starting in April told "everyone"  to get out "now" and expect no help from the State Department?

Except for the fact that the Taliban said all co-operation and their hand's off Americans policy would end at midnight 08/83/21?

There was no reason for him to leave military equipment there.

All American equipment not donated to the Afghan military by Trump, Obama & Bush was brought to other American or NATO bases.  In a few rare cases some equipment including those donated items were deliberately rendered inoperable.

Don't say anymore about Trump's agreement with the Taliban.

So your official opinion is that the US word as a signatory to a treaty, even the retarded

Dohan Agreement 2020 which failed to include the Afghan government, is meaningless

and dependent on your feeling?

Sounds rather like something out of someone else's playbook, like not the USA playbook.

We seen just how well they have been keeping up their end of the bargain.

Rather immaterial don't you think?

You're probably just as riled that the Dohan Agreement calls for us to pay the government or Afghanistan one more $4Billion payment in 2023 which was agreed to and signed off on by Trump, the UN and 26 NATO countries.

They all assumed the Afghan government would still be around, including the greatest negotiator on earth one DJTrump, and failed to include such a disclaimer.

but Biden....

Immaterial.

When a burglar breaks the door glass and reaches inside to unlock the door

is it required that you ask them if they are armed?

Were the officer's warnings not enough for a prudent person to understand and

stand down?

She was an Air Force veteran with "high security" clearance and worked in

corporate security.  Do you think she was some sort of defenseless woman?

She may have gambled her own life away believing that she was disobeying an

unlawful order, that always seems to happen in a mutiny.

Trump's Dohan Agreement wasn't "retarded".  Because of the deadline, it was designed to fuck Biden (Trump's real goal).

Biden pushed back the deadline, Butt it still fucked him.  Biden got blamed for the "failure" in Afghanistan that was planned by Trump.

Historically, most US presidents honor treaties (unless they involved Native Americans).  The glaring exception is, of course, Donald Trump.  Trump tore up the Iran nuclear deal in 2018.

The Iran nuclear agreement, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), is a landmark accord reached between Iran and several world powers, including the United States, in July 2015. Under its terms, Iran agreed to dismantle much of its nuclear program and open its facilities to more extensive international inspections in exchange for billions of dollars’ worth of sanctions relief.

The first "stock" picture is from January 2013 in an article about Illinois granting illegals drivers licenses.

The second picture is date December 29 2014 shows Honduran police collecting Hondurans in Honduras after being expelled by the US.

The third picture dated 06/29/2019 shows immigrants being detained in Chiappas Mexico by Mexican police about 1,700 miles from the US southern border.

Biden did extend the Trump timeline in an attempt to extract as many people as possible

You think Brandon unilaterally extended the withdrawal timeline to get US citizens, Green Card holders, and Special VISA holders out? Then why the hell are so many of them still stuck in Afghanistan? Why the hell is Brandon bragging about how many he air lifted out? The vast majority of them were unvetted. If they were lucky enough to make it into the Kabul airport; Brandon had them loaded onto a plane and sent out.

Oh, and Wikipedia is not an accurate source- any moron can update it.

Try some more accurate sources- even if they are still leftist loons.

Less than four weeks before the fall of Afghanistan, President Joe Biden urged Afghanistan's President Ashraf Ghani to demonstrate a more capable military defense to change the "perception" as the Taliban made significant gains.

Biden relayed that message in a July 23 phone call,   according to excerpts reported by Reuters   that shed new light on Biden's thinking before the Taliban on Aug. 15 abruptly seized control of the Afghan government.

Neither leader discussed the threat of an imminent Taliban takeover in their last phone call, according to Reuters, but one theme was consistent from Biden: The situation needed to improve to change the optics in the final month before the U.S. was to complete its withdrawal from Afghanistan.

"I need not tell you the perception around the world and in parts of Afghanistan, I believe, is that things aren’t going well in terms of the fight against the Taliban," Biden told Ghani   during the 14-minute phone call "And there’s a need, whether it is true or not, there is a need to project a different picture."

Two weeks before the call, on July 8, Biden told reporters in the U.S. that it was "highly unlikely" the Taliban would take control of Afghanistan.

"Whether it is true or not, there is a need to project a different picture" That statement in a nutshell describes Brandon and the Democrats.

Brandon picked a theatrical deadline 9/11 so it would coincide with 9/11 terrorist attacks. He didn't listen to military advisors. He ignored Taliban and Al Qaeda upping their attacks on US troops and out allies. He even ignored all evidence that the Afghan government and military would fall as soon as we departed. He wanted out, and he got out. He has already "turned the page" on those we promised to get out of Afghanistan.

Yes, because facts matter. They were told to leave on April 27, 2021. and the warning was repeated monthly.

Do not travel to Afghanistan due to  COVID-19,   crime, terrorism,   civil unrest, kidnapping,  and  armed conflict .

U.S. citizens wishing to depart Afghanistan should leave as soon as possible on available commercial flights.

Read the Department of State’s  COVID-19  page before you plan any international travel.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Level 4 Travel Health Notice for Afghanistan due to COVID-19, indicating a very high level of COVID-19 in the country. Visit the Embassy’s  COVID-19 page  for more information on COVID-19 in Afghanistan.

On April 27, 2021, the Department ordered the departure from U.S. Embassy Kabul of U.S. government employees whose functions can be performed elsewhere.

Travel to all areas of Afghanistan is unsafe because of critical levels of kidnappings, hostage taking, suicide bombings, widespread military combat operations, landmines, and terrorist and insurgent attacks, including attacks using vehicle-borne, magnetic, or other improvised explosive devices (IEDs), suicide vests, and grenades.

Terrorist and insurgent groups continue planning and executing attacks in Afghanistan. These attacks occur with little or no warning, and have targeted official Afghan and U.S. government convoys and facilities, local government buildings, foreign embassies, military installations, commercial entities, non-governmental organization (NGO) offices, hospitals, residential compounds, tourist locations, transportation hubs, public gatherings, markets and shopping areas, places of worship, restaurants, hotels, universities, airports, schools, gymnasiums, and other locations frequented by U.S. citizens and other foreign nationals.

The U.S. Embassy’s ability to provide routine and emergency services to U.S. citizens in Afghanistan is severely limited, particularly outside of Kabul. Evacuation options from Afghanistan are extremely limited due to the lack of infrastructure, geographic constraints, and the volatile security situation.

Afghanistan Travel Advisory - Level 4: Do Not Travel - U.S. Embassy in Afghanistan (usembassy.gov)

,

Then why the hell are so many of them still stuck in Afghanistan?

If any are still stuck why isn't it a daily news story?  Because those who chose to stay

did so willingly, not believing that their own government would take the money and run?

The Taliban changed the deadline to 09/01/2021 the same day as your two links.

Estimates from June of 2022 put the number of dual citizen Americans between 100

and 200.  The same number State announced on Sept 27. 2021.

Oh, and Wikipedia is not an accurate source- any moron can update it. Try some more accurate sources- even if they are still leftist loons.

No shit, really? /s  Left loons say 200,  right loons say 9,000.  Where are those people today?

He ignored Taliban and Al Qaeda upping their attacks on US troops and out allies. He even ignored all evidence that the Afghan government and military would fall as soon as we departed. He wanted out, and he got out. He has already "turned the page" on those we promised to get out of Afghanistan.

Regurgitated partisan rhetoric.  We had a flawed international treaty to comply with and a new hostile government that was ending it's "don't shoot Americans on sight policy".

It wasn't Dunkirk or the fall of Saigon. It wasn't perfect but your outrage seems to be a personal issue.

For shits and giggles, lets say their lie (that the border was irreparable) is accurate.  They still have an obligation to fix it.  To date they haven't done anything.  They've even gone as far as telling border states that are doing something to stop and dismantle what they have done.

Now, back to reality.  The Biden Administration had everything already laid out for them to secure the border.  All they had to do was sit back and let it run.  But, because of their hissy fit, they stopped it all.  Now we have a disaster at the border and they refuse to do anything about it.  Even their beloved sanctuary cites are failing in their promises.  And they expect everybody to think they will do the right thing.

Politicians promise a lot of shit when they are campaigning.

Remember this one from Brandon The Human Fuck Up Machine?

He ended Covid all right! More people have died under his watch from Covid than Trump. That is with three "vaccines" and drugs to cure it if caught early enough that Trump didn't have at his disposal.

Most of those deaths, some 600,000, happened after Biden took office in January 2021 at the peak of a major wave of the disease.

But that hasn't stopped Brandon from taking credit for a reduction in Covid 19 death rates. Which are dropping world wide.

There has been a 92% drop in COVID-19 deaths, when comparing the seven-day average since the day Biden took office with the average as of June 20.

As the omicron variant runs its course, virtually every country in the world has recently experienced a steep decline in COVID-19 deaths. In fact, since the day of Biden’s inauguration, the seven-day rolling average of daily deaths per 100,000 residents worldwide has dropped 89.4%, which suggests Biden’s policy is not somehow unique. Experts say it is the disease, the emergence of variants, the rollout of vaccines and immunity gained from prior infection that are primarily responsible for the peaks and valleys in the number of deaths worldwide since COVID-19 emerged.

Biden also launched this talking point during a lull in COVID-19 deaths, glossing over the fact that there have been two major waves of COVID-19 — from the highly transmissible delta and omicron variants — which caused large spikes in the number of deaths during Biden’s presidency.

Don't worry. There is a new variant of Covid decimating China right now. Think Brandon has any plan for preventing it's spread to the US. Even if he restricts travel from anyone that originates in China. They will just head to South or Central America- pass through Mexico; and enter the US like everyone else that doesn't want to wait in line across our wide open southern border. It may take them a few tries; but it isn't like Brandon is doing anything to really stop them.

Depends on which Media Outlet you watch/watched !

If forcing our "ALLIES" to pony up more than they do, weakens us, Good on our Allies for out spending us ..... right ?

Better to be weak in that area (BIG BUCK SPENDING) than strong, huh?  That kinda so-called strong, costs you and I bunches in the long run !

The Supreme Court just gave the country a reprive for another few months when the Supreme Court will decide the case on the merits. Border states have argued that they have unfairly had to carry the burden of protecting their own borders from waves of illegal migrants. In the meantime the Biden administration fought to end Title 42. Clearly, Biden's handlers want the southern border as wide open as possible. The drug Cartels have made money on it via Fentanyl and sex trafficing. The leftist media is not covering this major story and the left feels they are replacing voters as well as a race of people. We have laws that actually punish people for entering the country illegally. When is the last time anyone ever heard of an illegal migrant being punished for violating American law?

Title 42 was a pandemic era policy. One could argue that it's purpose no longer exists, but by not having it in place would mean that the southern border would be even more out of control than it now is. The real solution will come when Republicans have full power and they can enact Asylum reform in which people are not allowed asylum simply because they say "I'm fearful."

what a woefully misinformed comment. my son and his wife have financially sponsored 3 asylum seekers since last  halloween night. the father was a gov't employee in a south american country. his choice was to participate in corruption under threat, escape, or likely end up face down in a ditch. they were granted asylum (process) at the border by DHS because of his former job. I eagerly invite any lowlife unamerican xenophobes that want them to leave so badly to try and collect my extended family members from me, personally.

Trump Trading Cards Account Also Used To Buy Erotic Art

BY EWAN PALMER ON 1/2/23 AT 1:01 PM EST

The online profile that sold Donald Trump 's non-fungible token (NFT) collection has also been trading in sexually explicit art.

The TrumpDeployer account, which housed the former president's "digital trading cards" on the NFT trading platform OpenSea, is also being used to purchase other online collectables that are pornographic in nature.

As well as more traditional NFTs, such as those from the popular Bored Ape Club, the TrumpDeployer account has traded several NFTs with an account called Freiburg, which sells "erotical art" featuring naked women and penetrative sex.

According to data available on the OpenSea website, the TrumpDeployer account has traded 14 erotic NFTs since it was set up nearly three weeks ago.

It is unclear who is behind the TrumpDeployer account, and there is nothing stopping them trading other NFTs while selling those from the former president.

A Q&A section on the Collect Trump Cards website states that money raised from the sale of the online tokens, drawn by illustrator Clark Mitchell, will not be used for Trump's 2024 presidential campaign.

The Collect Trump Cards website adds that the company behind the cards, NFT INT LLC, is "not owned, managed or controlled by Donald J. Trump or The Trump Organization" and they were created using Trump's name, likeness and image under a paid license.

Trump was widely mocked for teasing a "major announcement" which later turned out to be NFTs of him dressed in a number of guises such as a cowboy and astronaut.
