White Supremacists Discussed Using Coronavirus As A Bioweapon
White Racially Motivated Violent Extremists have recently commented on the coronavirus stating that it is an ‘OBLIGATION’ to spread it should any of them contract the virus.”

Just when you thought a virus was the worse of it:

S E E D E D   C O N T E N T

WASHINGTON — White supremacists discussed plans to weaponize coronavirus via “saliva,” a “spray bottle” or “laced items,” according to a weekly intelligence brief distributed by a federal law enforcement division on Feb. 17.

Federal investigators appeared to be monitoring the white nationalists’ communications on Telegram, an encrypted messaging app that has become popular with neo-Nazis . In the conversations, the white supremacists suggested targeting law enforcement agents and “nonwhite” people with attacks designed to infect them with the coronavirus.

“Violent extremists continue to make bioterrorism a popular topic among themselves,” reads the intelligence brief written by the Federal Protective Service, which covered the week of Feb. 17-24. “White Racially Motivated Violent Extremists have recently commented on the coronavirus stating that it is an ‘OBLIGATION’ to spread it should any of them contract the virus.”

The Federal Protective Service, part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, is a law enforcement agency responsible for protecting buildings owned or leased by the federal government.

The intelligence brief, marked for official use only, noted the white supremacists “suggested targeting … law enforcement and minority communities, with some mention of public places in general.” According to the document, the extremists discussed a number of methods for coronavirus attacks, such spending time in public with perceived enemies, leaving “saliva on door handles” at local FBI offices, spitting on elevator buttons and spreading coronavirus germs in “nonwhite neighborhoods.”

The February document appears to show that at least some white nationalists were already taking the threat of the coronavirus seriously at a time when some in government were downplaying the threat. On Feb. 26, President Trump said that he expected the cases to go down to zero in the United States in “a couple of days.” The Washington Post reported on Friday that intelligence agencies were issuing “ominous” warnings about the virus in January and February.

The Department of Homeland Security did not respond to requests for comment.

According to the Federal Protective Service intelligence brief, the discussion of spreading the coronavirus occurred in a channel on the app Telegram that is devoted to the “siege culture” philosophies of neo-Nazi author James Mason and “accelerationism.” Mason wrote a series of newsletters titled “Siege” in the 1980s that advocated for acts of racial terrorism in order to hasten a war that would cause the breakdown of society.

What's WRONG with some of us? Really. What is wrong with us? We have this great humongously beautiful home we call a world to rule and steward and make joyous. And all some of us do this very day is debase themselves and want to see this 'joint' we call home in ruins! Will it ever end? Can it end?

I have not seen any such seed. And, it would be just as reprehensible! This virus does not give a crap about your or my political affiliations. Consequently, that's a stupid WHATABOUTISM that immediately fails. This is not a political game and neither of us, I hope, are bio-terrorists

Well Bugsy, I did see that somewhat in passing somewhere. I think at the time I rolled my eyes and cursed, "Don't feed the beast,  people!!!" before moving on to life and other articles, in general. This kind of stupid commentary is indefensible—even in words.

Now then, let's be clear this is not a tweet. This is not that! This is an issue of bio-terrorism.

Be honest with yourself. You saw it in passing, nodded your head in agreement and moved on, but because people now that you disagree with are making comments you don't like, all of a sudden  you take notice..

What is the difference between a tweet that wishes wishes people to spread a virus to those they don't like, or a blog with people wishing to spread a virus to people they don't like?

Let me answer that for you. The tweet was something you agreed with, so silence. the blog, not so much, so outrage must be had.

You can't have it both ways.

For your information, I don't comment on a great many articles that I see on NewsTalkers. I stand on my soap-box enough around here - thank you very much!!! (Smile.) How you can judge that I need to be additionally honest with myself, when I had no mandate to even put @1.1.4 to comment, is beyond me. My motivations are not in question here anyway. Moreover, how do you plan to know that I "don't like" what disagreeable people say: I could be a sadomasochist. (I am not one, nevertheless.)

Any comment on how you could, would, should protect yourself and others from bio-terrorism of this sort?

Sad indeed. There are those among us that thrive on hate. Something amiss inside their being that manifests itself in lashing out against anyone who looks different, worships a different god, or follows a different philosophy as it is not limited to any particular race, religion, or party. The darkness only grows in times of strife, but that becomes a constant state for those that live with such hatred...an evil side of our human condition.

Our "human condition." I was thinking that same thing this morning upon waking and my mind went to thoughts of this article. When you think about it, we are the stewards of this planet, nothing outranks us which we can see, except nature itself, and at times we dwell in a sea of malcontentment from man's own minds and hands.

Philosophical meanderings that I share, CB. Perhaps a bit off topic, but if we are to get to the nut of any issue, the commonality of any dysfunction is to be found within our collectively humanity. Call it a soul, a spirit, or an inner voice as one chooses to believe, but we do live outside our personal bounds and how we choose to apply those beliefs in a social context is fascinating and unique to our species.

The worst acts we can remember are perpetrated by man against his fellow man (natural disasters notwithstanding). But as heinous and hateful as those acts can be and an ugly part of our stewardship history, there are countless unknown and momentary acts of empathy, kindness, and true love that far outweigh those hateful things we tend to focus on.

At least that is my hope as we negotiate another trying time. Peace, all. Be safe.

I love that. Come to the head of the class, please.

Chicken soup for the soul! It is always welcomed at times like this. The narrative of this story drove me down, because it is doable in a desperate situation by someone with a death-wish or contagious diseases. To be clear, somebody could always have acted badly in doing this anywhere. It is the combination of a barely contained outbreak and the accelerationism doctrine (of hate) and a sect of evil-doers who can not be assuaged which makes us all unsafe.

For the record, anybody can walk into an infected elevator or touch exposed metals, political affiliations aside. And the children, well, they deserve a much better future than these constant, droning, and negatively active minds of racists "on duty" offer.

Chicken soup for the soul!

Thank you, friend...gather up those ingredients as you can.

Thankfully, there is an untapped supply of peace, love and hope that will get us through any crisis, personal or societal...and most of us have the pantry already stocked, just takes a little digging.

The "authors" of this article are total shit heads.

Per their own writing; "The intelligence brief, marked for official use only,", is now in the public domain and in so doing they have essentially WARNED the lowlife scumbag thug shitheads that they will be under increased surveillance and scrutiny.

There IS a reason for classifications and markings that people need to understand.  While the document is "UNCLASSIFIED", it was NOT to be publicly disseminated.
